I usually make a sim first, and then use the randomizer to find a first name. After I find the first name I write it down (especially if the spelling is unique) and then just keep clicking the random button to find a fitting surname. I find that unless you are modeling a sim after someone, it really helps to make the sim…
Sounds like your laptop just couldn't handle the game anymore. The update itself isn't what killed it. What people need to remember about laptops is that unless you get something made SPECIFICALLY to run games, they are best used for basic computer actions (writing documents, storing pictures, etc.) and web surfing. Once I…
They were talking more about using boolprop to raise skills. In the Sims 3 there is no skill boosting CHEAT. There are mods, of course. But no in-game cheat. Also, this thread is almost exactly one year old...
I like it all! Though, the one thing that I thought was odd was the door on the garage (not the garage door itself, but the one next to it). I just feel like it's a little odd/unnecessary if the front door is right there. It doesn't look bad, of course, it's just something I found odd.
Ok, I think I've figured it out. I'm buying the physical copy and two CDs that I want. I'll still have enough for when the new CD comes out in May, and next time I run to Best Buy I'll just pick up another $25 Amazon gift card to keep my balance up. Everything should be here early next week and I don't feel guilty about…
I normally prefer physical copies, but I'm also impatient  And with the not being able to handle not having it thing...that's my problem haha. I CAN handle not having it, but at the same time there are some features that look pretty fun. Now I'm leaning towards waiting because I've been having some issues with my game…
Never meant it would be impossibly difficult, but because the bin already lists lot size and cost, wouldn't it be easier (don't care how much easier) to just turn those listings into categories?
Or if you ever move (specifically for teens/anyone planning on moving out on their own anytime soon) and you are without internet for who knows how long and reaaaaallly want to load the game onto your new computer.
That would be nice... Preferably by lot size. I hate it when you go to slap down a gorgeous lot, only to realize that you're just a few squares off. Or by cost. I think bedroom number would be the least likely way just because then they (EA or the modder) would have to create some sort of system that classifies rooms as…
Have the son ask the mother to read him a bed time story. Or have the mother offer to read him a story. Either way, while being in control of sim A, click on sim B and choose the option that has something to do with a bed time story. If it isn't just a random option out on its own, it's probably in the friendly category.
On the three nights of Spooky Day you can have your teens and children go trick or treating by clicking on a house (that someone lives in) and choosing "go trick or treating" or "go trick or treating with..." (if you choose the with option, you can have the parents accompany them if you'd like; I'd recommend it for…
There is no Halloween store. Do you mean how do you get costumes for Spooky Day/Halloween? On the first night of Spooky Day, you click on your sim and there will be an option that says something to the effect of "put on costume." You click that and then you pick what costume you want your sim to wear. I believe it's only…
Pretty much. Although, I have missed that logo  But now it'll be out of place next to the rest of the Sims 3 series! And it's not going to change much about how the games are made...so it's just one of those "oh that's a cool tidbit" things.
Well, I've had my game OPEN for like 12 hours before. But I'm sure actual play time only totaled to about 4  Normally I only get to play on weekends so it's anywhere from 1 to 4 hours at a time. (That's including breaks that I seem to take every ten minutes.) My most recent play time (which just ended) was like 20…
I actually love that frugal sims do this... It's just one of those quirks they have. And I've noticed that they'll usually just do it to rooms that other sims aren't in. And as long as you have your lights set to automatic, they should come back on the next time a sim walks into the room.
It's really hard to MAKE a sim to stick to. What I've found is that I usually find them while playing. Normally what happens is that I'll create a family with 2 to 4 kids and then I just end up getting attached to one of the kids. Then I find them the perfect spouse or roommate to live with and it all works out. It's also…
Do you mean how to play it? Well, when you first open the game it will ask you to pick a town. If you only have the base game (Sims 3) then there will only be one option. After that it asks if you want to make a new family, choose a premade family, or move a family in from the household catalog. I would suggest choosing a…
It really truly depends on what you want in your game right now. It sounds like you'll eventually get them all. Pets- Adds a little bit more of a family aspect, especially if you grew up with/have always had pets. The horses are fun, and the puppies are ADORABLE. I really love pets. If anything it's for the town. But do…
It's pretty easy to give a sim a happy pregnancy. And as long as they are happy throughout the majority of it, you get to pick the traits. The books and medical advice are just there in case you're terrible at keeping sims in the green. Or if you have some extra cash/time to blow.
