  • In the UK we often get more snow in Spring than we actually do in Winter. It's not unusual for the seasons to cross into one another; nature doesn't follow a calendar in the same way we do.
  • I find, when this happens, that I end up putting a one square wide floor in front of the windows with a banister (railing) across it. Not the best fix in the world but certainly better than having pieces of roof coming through the walls. I really wish that they would fix this.
  • Which is concerning considering that Grant has said that how loves how much they focused on Summer in this iteration of Seasons. So far as the blog goes, they listed two new items and two features, all but one of which we were aware of from the trailer. So much for showcasing what we can do in Spring and Summer (and that's…
  • Thanks again @06Bon06 I'll share these here too: (this is a post I made in another thread on this topic) Note that this is clearly very heavy snow. Whilst the snow is still completely flat some objects, such as the BIG WIDE PARASOL have no snow at all! I can't be the only one that noticed this the first time they watched…
  • That's because there is no snow. This is what I keep saying. It's not a lack of depth; it's a lack of snow ENTIRELY. If I was wrong I'm sure I'd have been corrected by one of the Gurus by now; we know that they're watching this thread as the comments keep getting removed. Go back to page 14 and see the pictures I posted;…
  • @06Bon06 Thanks for mentioning me and introducing me to this thread! For those of you that still have faith... well, I;m sorry. I'll share with you what I posted on another thread on this matter. Note that this is clearly very heavy snow. Whilst the snow is still completely flat some objects, such as the BIG WIDE PARASOL…
  • Kate has already said that it won't be delayed. The best we can hope for is that they go back and amend things later but I doubt they will; they'll make plenty from this from those that simply aren't bothered by it (which if I'm honest I think is mainly the younger and/or newer fans to the series; it seems that those of us…
  • Again it's just a repaint. There's literally some white 'frost' splashed onto the surface of each table. They've gone to the bother of painting a white strip on top of the fencing and lanterns there too but again there are examples in that part of the trailer of items which have no snow at all. I am 99% certain that it's…
  • We can also see the lack of depth highlighted by the fact that the placed grass foliage is the same height as it always is and that there's no snow surrounding the bottom of the bushes (which, by the way, should surely have malted their leaves by this point?).
  • Note that this is clearly very heavy snow. Whilst the snow is still completely flat some objects, such as the BIG WIDE PARASOL have no snow at all! I can't be the only one that noticed this the first time they watched the trailer? I'm almost certain that snow doesn't exist in this pack and that they've just…
  • The no snow on objects is even more apparent on the big house that switches through the different seasons. I'll do another demonstration for it.
  • If someone can explain where the layer of snow in this image is I'd be really grateful. I can't see any difference in the roof line, road, pavement; anything anywhere. Even the drain doesn't have any kind of snow cover; that should be a dead giveaway for sure (and if it was layered up in front of it then you wouldn't see…
  • If we're correct and the snow doesn't actually exist and is just a recolour of the existing environment and objects (as it would appear to be; note that in several images none of the outdoor items, including the street lights, actually have any snow at all) to create the illusion of snow (ie, it LOOKS like it's snow) then…
  • I said this before; there's no actual snow on ANYTHING in that screenshot. It's just white paint on the ground and roof. Not even the lampposts have snow.
  • It's not been postponed because it was never planned in the first place. My goodness it's been clear from the start with the way that they're drip feeding us packs for TS4 (particularly expansion packs) that they're going to keep TS4 going a lot longer the it's predecessors managed. One of the earliest things we were told…
  • The snow doesn't even come up to their feet.
  • 'We can only put so much into one pack unfortunately and sometimes we have to make difficult decisions. We left out deep snow so that we could work on X as we felt that it was a feature we really needed to invest our time into. We believe the pay off it worth it and we hope that once you play the game you'll see why this…
  • I want to know just two things. 1) Will the seasonal lot marker/a variation thereof be returning? It will be a pain to have to redecorate for every season and although the trailer implied a lot marker... I know better than to trust the trailers these days. 2) Will they do something to put ACTUAL snow into the game, either…
  • At no point in the trailer is ANYTHING shown to have an actual accumulation of snow on it. That must therefore mean that there is no actual snow, merely a white effect which covers everything in the winter. I'm not paying for paint; if they want my money they can provide ACTUAL snow.
  • Actually if you pause the trailer on the first scene of snow (right as the logo conveniently blocks the view of everything) and have a good look you can see that there's not really snow on anything. The lampposts, hanging baskets, fences, chairs, bins, outdoor decorations... NOTHING has snow on it. It screams to me that…
  • I will be forever haunted by the thumbnail for LGR's review of that pack. :D
  • It's not whining at all. If we're not happy with the product that's being advertised but we WANT to like it then are we not entitled to air that opinion? Don't try to shut people down for voicing their concerns. If we didn't complain then we wouldn't have toddlers and if we don't complain about this then the devs won't…
  • These releases are planned months in advance; they're not done on a whim because people are upset. If the snow DOES lack depth (I'm hoping to be proven otherwise but having just discovered that another thread on the matter was deleted I'm not holding out much hope) then it's because they either can't do it or won't do it.…
  • But it can't do it. From what we've seen so far the snow isn't actual snow; it's just a layer of paint on everything. That isn't weather; it's decor. I really, REALLY want the devs to come out and tell us we're wrong; that the snow DOES have depth and show us some screenshots of deep snow. But if what we saw in the trailer…
  • I didn't expect... flat snow. 0_o
  • Sims 3; heavy snow (at night) to almost melted. It's got depth.
