Made sim versions of myself and my boyfriend in order to beta test a world, and what does she do the moment I get them on a couch together? She rants to him about how great the sims is, while he looks at a wall. *facepalms* just because the world is set in Heck doesn't mean you need to make him feel that way, lady. [img]

  • If you have extra pets and you want to give them away to the adoption agency, just call the adoption agency and put it up for adoption, and the pet social worker person will come and take the pet away. I think you can only do one pet at a time, so this'll require a few phone calls. No one will automatically come to take…
  • Just recently started playtesting your newest version. Looks good so far! Also, here's something that amused me (thanks, NRAAS StoryProgression!):
  • You can't delete them. They stay on the forum forever and ever unless a moderator decides to get rid of it. I guess you could PM one if you really wanted to get rid of it, but otherwise you're stuck with it. I think it's because you never know if another simmer has the same question as the ones answered in the old…
  • Hi Quailhogs, This is my first time making sims in CAS to upload, and I followed your instructions. Please forgive me if they look awful; I will totally understand if you decide to modify them or trash them completely. Here is the link: http://www.mediafire.com/download/2sf558elm220ysf/Saluzar.zip Also please let me know…
  • TS4: You Rule...Only One Household & Their House, But Also Here Are Some Linear Goals Eh, alright, I can see why they went with "You Rule" instead. Much catchier ;)
  • Ugh! Evil homework! It never goes away! That's the part of life EA wanted to simulate accurately in this iteration? Boo :(
  • It's more of a status symbol than anything. Most people probably go through their entire time on the forum without caring about the points beyond trying to get membership. I suppose in theory it's a way of rewarding those who are most beneficial to the forums, but in practice it's more of a popularity contest? Don't stress…
  • Omg congrats on the job!!! I remember how worried you were before, and I'm happy to see things look up for you. Also, get well soon!
  • In real life, my sister is a really shy person, but she joined Toastmasters, which is a club that teaches and encourages people to give speeches. Basically public speaking. I don't see this as "peer pressure"; I see this as a positive activity that has made her feel a lot better about herself. Did it suddenly make her…
  • (Now I finally appreciate the awesome button. I'm able to "like" your post not because that is great news, but because I appreciate that you took the time to answer. Having an awesome button makes that distinction a little clearer.)
  • Hm. On a random note...how come there are no more Ask a Guru sessions? Did they ever say why, or was it just something that faded out one day?
  • Lilly: So... Klaus: Yes, my darling? Lilly: Now that we have a moment to ourselves for once...how about we celebrate our anniversary? Klaus: Oh, I would love to--wait. I see that "Have 10 Children" wish in your panel. Honey, no. Lilly: Come on! We already have six! We're so close! And besides, it never really feels like…
  • Nah it's just random. I think you have a better chance if there are fun-building objects around your home he can play with, though? Or just something he can get into, like a birthday party. Just be patient...you'll have your own grim reaper fun someday :) @Echowever LOL oh my god! The poor guy. The one time he tries to…
  • Good luck, @mizuru007! I'm glad you're finding a save file you love :) I know what it's like to constantly trash a save file and start over >.<
  • Yeah, meteors can hit rabbitholes. I've heard of people complaining that their sims in the military or science careers died, too. (Yeah, school is a terrible, terrible place. Especially high school.) Yeah there was lots of crying all around town. I never knew something so apocalyptic could happen in this game! But meteor…
  • I once had a meteor hit a school...since it was a rabbithole and since apparently you can't ditch school even if you know a meteor's coming, my sim died, as well as all her classmates. I had to watch two dozen teens and kids die, as the grim reaper can only do one at a time. *shudders* Anyway, my condolences for your sim's…
  • Thanks for the warning about the Origin update, folks D: Thank goodness I can still open TS3 without it. Haven't taken any pictures because raising a family of werewolves is hard T_T I've been playing Lilly's family (Lilly's now an adult! Time flies!) and because she's Family Oriented, she always wants a baby. Her husband…
  • I don't know why I'm laughing so much right now. Maybe it's because it's early in the morning here, but I'm just imagining like... Dustin: Uh. Mom? Brandi: Yeah? Dustin: I like what you did with the house, but...weren't there some plants out here? Brandi: Well, sweetie...sometimes we have to make difficult choices in life.…
  • Werewolves can be both amusing and frustrating. In their werewolf form, there's always this lag before they change clothes or go somewhere, which can lead to them being late to work/school D: And then when they're stressed or super tired, they'll change into werewolf form and stay like that for 6 sim hours, which is…
  • I think my favorite is couple counseling. If my grandparent sim sees his/her child having marriage trouble, it's a nice skill to have. Ooh, or a wingman watching out for his romance friend.
  • *nods* I would agree with that assessment. But lots of times when I see discussions of "casual gaming," I see the Sims lumped along with it. I guess it really depends on who you ask. The people who call Sims casual gaming are probably the ones who don't really know what it's about ;) Tbh I don't see what's wrong with being…
  • It's actually more harmful to feminism to support someone merely because they're a woman, so I understand and agree with your concerns about blindly supporting RF. Feminism isn't about giving women jobs just because of their gender; it's about giving women a fighting chance within male-dominated industries, to evaluate…
  • Yeah, TS2 definitely has better social interactions. All the kids' games they can play with each other are so fun! And you really get the sense that these sims have feelings for each other, whether positive or negative. I remember reading Candi's Prettacy and being delightfully surprised when her heir and spare actually…
  • @starguru omg I love your ideas! I'm going to write all these down. And you're right--fish is always useful to have :) Also, thank you so much for sharing your adorable play <3 For some reason, it's easier for me to fall into skill-grind mode when I play TS3 than when I play TS2. If my mind is not actively trying to come…
  • Thanks for the responses, everyone! Ooh a ball! That's a great idea! That never even crossed my mind at all. Thank you, @simIrrevirre! I'll get them one the next time I load up the game. I didn't get much play time tonight, but in the time that I did, I took Scobre's advice and went through the Generations list of things…
  • Hey, I'm looking for some family play advice in TS3 right now, and I figured you folks might have some ideas. Right now I'm playing Quailhogs' Vargfjell, and one of his pre-made families was a werewolf father and daughter. Immediately, the father fell in love with someone in town and got married, so now I have a household…
  • What really gets me is all the YouTube comments about how "fake" the trailer is. I mean, obviously? Do they not understand the concept of a joke? XD Anyway, honestly at this point I am not even enthusiastic at the idea of a TS5. Not if EA is going to give the developers a low budget and very little time. I would dearly…
  • For future reference, here's a mod that helps reduce the craziness of the attraction system. More info is in the link, but what I like most is that if I reject a sim's date call, they don't call again, and I only get gifts in the mail if the attracted sim is already my friend. Not sure if it'll stop the stalker llama…
  • I guess crime...doesn't pay 8) No but seriously, that is frustrating. I don't blame you for changing careers. Good luck to him in his new job!
  • Omg seriously! It would get so annoying. Practically all of my sims autonomously became nerds XD I feel like they have a lot of good ideas, but the implementation tends to leave a lot to be desired.
