The night of the ball arrives and the royal family and the honored guests line up to greet the members of the fairy community. A pianist performs soft music as the guests arrive. It has been many years since the Kingdom had an occasion to celebrate with a ball. Some are excited while others seem nervous waiting for the guests to arrive. The ballroom is decorated with small lights that imitate the night sky stars as they sparkle and glow and give the large room a festive air.
Prince Merry and the teens avoid the receiving line by helping out in the entertainment area. Merry is in charge of the entertainment, so he had to miss it to help organize the band set up and electronics. The teens mostly want to meet the band.
Prince Kaifindar glances over at the curtains shielding the stage. "C'mon Uncle Merry, we just want to say hello. They've been gone from the Realm forever it seems." Briana and Bran give Merry their most innocent and pleading looks as they nod in agreement with Kaifindar.
Merry shakes his head. "Sorry guys, they even kicked me out. They are placing the instruments and doing sound checks, as well as the visual checks on their staging. This is a smaller stage than they have been performing on this last year. They've had to adjust their setup. They need to be ready when Dad finishes delivering his speech as that is the cue for the curtains to rise."
The guests are arriving and walk up the stairway. They are announced by one of the ministers in attendance as they hand over their invitation. Sam and Emma Beckett make their bow and curtsy to the King and Queen and are formally introduced to Adam and Alice. They follow the line shaking hands and finally greet Dedric, Wisteria, Marshall, and Jennifer. The ballroom seems to come alive as more guests arrive. The gentle fluttering of wings, the glittering colors of the rainbow from the fashionable gowns and handsome suits, snatches of conversation, laughter, and exclamations as the guests fill the room.
The King delivers a brief speech after greeting all the guests. He officially explains Prince Adam's remarkable story to the people of the Fairy Realm. Many gasps are heard through the room as he relates the story of Adam's early life with the wolf clan. Naturally, the citizens recall the dark days past when Princess Nissa disappeared and Prince Kailon died. They listen spellbound to the King as he describes Adam's successful search for his parents.
"We are blessed by the Fates. They led Prince Adam and his family to find his Grandparents Nickolas and Anastasia, the Duke and Duchess of Roswyn, and thus to us."
Adam gapes with his mouth dropped down towards Nicholas and Anastasia as they never mentioned the titles bestowed upon them.
"Let us joyfully celebrate with music and dancing, good food, and fellowship."
The guests clap enthusiastically after hearing the story. The King knows the story will spread far and wide throughout his Kingdom. Many of the Fairy's unable to attend will be seeking an audience with him over the next few weeks. He hopes his ministers will rise to the occasion and prevent as many visits as possible. He signals Merry to start the entertainment.
Prince Merry makes his announcement as the curtains rise into the rafters above their heads. "Ladies and Gentlemen, back from their successful world tour and just in time to celebrate and welcome Prince Adam and his family. Let's hear it for Flame and her band Inferno, featuring Flash, Fury, Jet, and Ash."
With a mighty explosion of musical sound and light, flames rise on the stage as the band plays one of their hit songs welcoming Adam with their distinctive music. The guests hurry to stand closer to the stage as the band plays. Flame sings passionately with a soulful hypnotic voice that mesmerizes crowds. Many of the fairy's sing the chorus with Flame as they know the popular song by heart. Flame and the band members smile at their lifelong friends in the crowd, happy to be back home in the Realm after the extended tour. The song ends with another dazzling flash of lights and luminous flames that flicker around the stage sending ooh's and awws throughout the room.
Flame and her bandmates bow to the King and Queen. "We are slowing it down and will open the dancing with a waltz." The guests politely move aside as it is a tradition that the King and Queen will start the dancing. King Aagda bows to his Queen and she curtsy's to him. They dance the formal waltz as the band plays the slow and romantic music. Ash plays the violin with soft, sure strokes. He has a mystical quality to his playing. It adds a unique sound to an old favorite. After a few moments the King gestures with his hand and the dance is joined by Prince Finnian and Princess Daria. Prince Adam and Princess Alice are next to dance. Before long the rest of the royal court is dancing, and the guests are invited to join in as well.
Merry is watching the dancing from the DJ booth and notices a fairy that does not seem to have a partner. He recognizes his duty as a member of the royal family and he walks through the dancers towards her. He reaches for her hand and bows deeply. "Welcome, my lady." As he rises from his bow, he is dazzled by her alluring jade eyes. "Might I have this dance lovely lady."
"Yes, kind sir. I would love to dance." She wonders who this fairy is. She thinks he must be part of the royal family as he is wearing a circlet that only the royals wear. She has met Prince Finnian and Princess Daria when they visited the school where she teaches their young son Dannif. He holds her hand gently as he escorts her to the dance floor. Soon the magic of the music, the steps of the dance, the laughter in his eyes, and the flirting comments, help her enjoy the ball that she didn't want to attend.
@bekkasan Well you be adding more Sims to the save? I plan to add some more to the save I am currently playing

It took forever doing the ballroom scenes. I had 49 sims total in the building so the lag was tremendous even though the world is small. I won't do that again! lol
hehe, Merry hired the band. But, they are Fairy's from the Realm who were discovered and hit the big time out in the world. The King was happy to have them play. He knows his people well and they love music and dancing of all kinds. They actually grew up with Merry as they are in the same age group and went to school together.
Yes, that is a little hint for someday when I play Merry's story. You notice they did not get hit with a 'bond' from the Fates when they met even though Merry was very attracted to her and she is intrigued by him.
It was fun building the ballroom and I will save it in case I ever need it again, but, not with 49 sims!
They will be going home very soon.

I did a wedding with 53 Sims on one lot, all controllable. I think I won´t do that again! (Perhaps, my mind is so bad sometimes I forget things, so who knows if I´ll forget this, too! )

@bekkasan Beautiful scenes from the ball Good to see a lot of Sims in place and slow dancing. Did you have any difficulty with them getting into place?
@AlexaKry Wow...53 is a lot too. I kept mine with no autonomy, took away all jobs, and gave the household static for needs so they would stay put in the ballroom. I took about 25 sims for a destination wedding in France and that was not too bad. Once the wedding was over I gave them back their autonomy and laughed so hard at the results. I didn't save that as it disturbed my sense of morality for my sims, but it was funny. Sims don't particularly care about morality! Even the ones that were formally faithful!
Will you be posting pics of the wedding or is that a save you don't post about?
@king_of_simcity7 Thank you for your comments. No, I have a waltz mod and that takes care of them moving in place for the waltz. They pretty much spaced themselves out and I only moved one couple that was too close to another. It really is beautiful seeing them all waltz around the room during the game. It was a bit laggy with all the sims, but still fun to do. Because of the lag, I used Moo or teleport to move them from one area to the next as that was much faster than letting them walk. If I had clicked sit on the chairs and had them move from the dance floor to the dining area, I'd probably still be waiting for all of them to sit. I just moved them to stand close to the chair I wanted them to sit in and then clicked sit. Everyone was seated in a few minutes.
@bekkasan I use teleport alot for the stories as it would take too long to get Sims from one place to the next. I have not used mods for it but I do have to use MOO at times as well

I had a different approach.
I build a special lot just for this wedding with loooots of space to route. Then I moved my family to this lot and added all the guests to my active family. Then I saved. After loading the game again I let free will on and let them decide what they wanted to do. Astonishingly they all headed to the wedding bow and the prepaired seatings when I started the wedding. Even the cutting of the cake they managed alone without my intervention. I played this wedding 2x and had all my pictures taken although I think I´ll play it a few more times to get more pictures.
But I played on an unpopulated world with few buildings. The family I took from the bin where I saved all family members before (the saving was so time consuming because I had to travel to all the different worlds where Haldir´s and Travis´ children were living!), when I placed them I got hearts all over the place!
I was surprised that just a few of them flirted with the wrong partners, when I noticed that I intervened, but the only two I really controlled were the newly weds.
I could even save the day, which I did automatically although I didn´t want to.
Yes, this wedding will be in my story. I hope I don´t reveal too much from it for you, because this wedding is going to be waaaaaay further in the future! If you don´t want to know too much, then don´t open the spoiler!
The marble dance floor is quite crowded with dancing couples. No toes are stepped on or bumping into each other, as the fairy's are quite lithe and graceful. The waltz is a favorite dance and a few more tunes are performed by the talented band as the guests traditionally enjoy waltzing around the ballroom.
Flame signals the band to start the introduction to another hit song once they complete this slow tune. The waltz ends and they effortlessly move to a rocking fast-paced song. The King and Queen know how to rock it as well as the younger generation and enjoy the change of pace. They dance a few dances and finally sit to watch the others and enjoy the music.
One young couple, Prince Kaifindar and Briana slipped away to one of the secluded alcoves. Kaifindar has discovered a new side of Briana that he did not know existed until the ball. He finds her very attractive and not the tomboy/goth girl she has always been in his mind. He decided Briana would be the perfect first kiss. He hopes she will be responsive and not slug him.
Briana wonders where Kaifindar is taking her. She is surprised at how nervous she is in his company tonight. They were raised together in the nursery at the castle whenever her parents needed to be in the Realm which was often and months at a time sometimes. She knows him almost as well as she knows Bran. He seems different tonight. He is definitely handsome in his suit. He has also been flirting with her like some of the boys back home try to do.
Kaifindar takes Briana in his arms pulling her close. He kisses her just like he has seen on the screen. He is amazed at how perfect she feels in his arms and even as awkward as a first kiss is, it feels better than anything he has known before.
At first, Briana is surprised at the kiss, but as he pulls away she quickly pulls him back for more. She is just as inexperienced as he is and yet somehow they manage to figure it out. They kiss softly at first, exploring the sensations, and gradually the kiss deepens until they are not sure if they are still two and not one. They are so lost in the kiss they do not hear the arrival of Prince Aaron.
"Ahem, ahem." Prince Aaron tries to command their attention subtly. He finally shouts, "Hey you two, how about coming up for air!" He laughs indulgently as they jump apart. "I saw you two duck in here and figured you would rather I discover you than either one of your fathers. It's time for the meal so c'mon."
Kaifindar looks at Briana and notices she is blushing. He grins and holds her hand. "That was incredible," he whispers to her. She nods thoughtfully, finding it hard to speak but she squeezes his hand as they walk behind Aaron to the dining area.

I did use a separate save so I wouldn't mess the main one up. I made the ballroom a home and used MC to add everyone to the household. I'm glad I did it because it was fun looking at the pictures and writing the story to go with it. I think I'm done with humongous households though.
@emorrill Yes, waltz mod. @ZeeGee told me about it when I was complaining about not having slow dancing and using poses for Alexandra and Jared's wedding. I used the mod several times since for other things including Alice and Adam's wedding. here It's awesome. Gosh, posing that many sims would have had me crying in my beer!

I kinda knew I would get you with the romance. It will be interesting to write how those two deal with first romance, living in separate towns, and whether the romance survives or not. After all, the fates did not intervene and bond them. Yet. Who knows what will happen?

I was surprised that just a few of them flirted with the wrong partners, when I noticed that I intervened, but the only two I really controlled were the newly weds.
I could even save the day, which I did automatically although I didn´t want to.

Adam's Quest
The marble dance floor is quite crowded with dancing couples. No toes are stepped on or bumping into each other, as the fairy's are quite lithe and graceful. The waltz is a favorite dance and a few more tunes are performed by the talented band as the guests traditionally enjoy waltzing around the ballroom.
Flame signals the band to start the introduction to another hit song once they complete this slow tune. The waltz ends and they effortlessly move to a rocking fast-paced song. The King and Queen know how to rock it as well as the younger generation and enjoy the change of pace. They dance a few dances and finally sit to watch the others and enjoy the music.
One young couple, Prince Kaifindar and Briana slipped away to one of the secluded alcoves. Kaifindar has discovered a new side of Briana that he did not know existed until the ball. He finds her very attractive and not the tomboy/goth girl she has always been in his mind. He decided Briana would be the perfect first kiss. He hopes she will be responsive and not slug him.
Briana wonders where Kaifindar is taking her. She is surprised at how nervous she is in his company tonight. They were raised together in the nursery at the castle whenever her parents needed to be in the Realm which was often and months at a time sometimes. She knows him almost as well as she knows Bran. He seems different tonight. He is definitely handsome in his suit. He has also been flirting with her like some of the boys back home try to do.
Kaifindar takes Briana in his arms pulling her close. He kisses her just like he has seen on the screen. He is amazed at how perfect she feels in his arms and even as awkward as a first kiss is, it feels better than anything he has known before.
At first, Briana is surprised at the kiss, but as he pulls away she quickly pulls him back for more. She is just as inexperienced as he is and yet somehow they manage to figure it out. They kiss softly at first, exploring the sensations, and gradually the kiss deepens until they are not sure if they are still two and not one. They are so lost in the kiss they do not hear the arrival of Prince Aaron.
"Ahem, ahem." Prince Aaron tries to command their attention subtly. He finally shouts, "Hey you two, how about coming up for air!" He laughs indulgently as they jump apart. "I saw you two duck in here and figured you would rather I discover you than either one of your fathers. It's time for the meal so c'mon."
Kaifindar looks at Briana and notices she is blushing. He grins and holds her hand. "That was incredible," he whispers to her. She nods thoughtfully, finding it hard to speak but she squeezes his hand as they walk behind Aaron to the dining area.

I did use a separate save so I wouldn't mess the main one up. I made the ballroom a home and used MC to add everyone to the household. I'm glad I did it because it was fun looking at the pictures and writing the story to go with it. I think I'm done with humongous households though.

I kinda knew I would get you with the romance. It will be interesting to write how those two deal with first romance, living in separate towns, and whether the romance survives or not. After all, the fates did not intervene and bond them.

I love my fairy's. Having a world full of them is fun, challenging for pictures sometimes with the wings in faces.
