Ok, so my question for the master is: how much planning do you do before you build in terms of raising and lowering the terrain? That's one of my challenges in taking my builds to the next level. I tend to make rather flat and boring lots.
Any suggestions?
A new class idea, maybe, Professor Zoo?
Good news, Susie P, TARYN has agreed to teach a class in terrain for Zoo U! I can't wait!
I don't have a date with Zoo yet for the new class yet, SuePea, but I am looking ahead and pondering it. I am going to incorporate some terrain work in my next DNA request build in this class too. Taking screenshots as I go.
Oh! Ty for the friend request, you didn't have to do that but I accepted quickly before you could change your mind . My only other in-game friend is my real-life best friend who sadly passed away just before Christmas, and among all the many, many huge things I miss about her is also the teeny thing of having someone who doesn't think I'm crazy when I'm happy that I accidentally left the game running and came back to find no-one burned the town down . I spend so much of my time lately playing/building (trying to) in this game for reasons that are very long and boring, having no-one who "gets" the appeal is a little bit sad, hence my de-lurking (I think I just made that up but shh no-one will know),so thank you again for being the first of my new Sims friends
Hi Girkl, welcome to the forums! I sent you a friend request as well. When I first started in the forums, there were so many nice people that welcomed me into this awesome community. And you should definitely bookmark Taryn's thread....I always come in from time to time to see what wonderful thing she's built next!
You should put some stuff on your wish list!!!
And I know what you mean about family and friends not "getting" this whole Sims thing....my family and friends think I'm nuts, and don't quite understand how I can spend hours building, lol. They just can't relate to my obsession! :-)
Rosebrook estate looks gorgeous I really love the architecture and landscaping, the garden is amazing The interior also looks great, I love the decor and wallpaper/colours you've used, rec'd and faved

WOW i just looked at ,rec'd and fav'd Rosebrook, will download it later for sure! It is a huge awesome house, the exterior caught my eye right away and the MOOing you used is really creative. I get alot of inspiration from you DNA builders and all the mooing that goes on. You did an amazing job with this one!
Thank you Prisca, Sevinc and Krims! I am sorry I am late getting back here and checking in. Just a hectic week here! Thank you very much! I surely do appreciate your comments!
A new Victorian Manor home is what I am working on now...very large. A legacy type home! It still has a couple of weeks of work left, but it's coming along beautifully!
It's been a while since I browsed your latest creations, time for catching up.
Lovely lovely lovely as always. And who knew you had a hidden talent for modern and contemporary! Curious to see more of that to be honest
And working on a victorian legacy home at the moment. Care to give us a sneaky work in progress picture? Pretty please?
You can have some of the popcorn if that helps? *.*
Please continue building and doing what you do, I love pretty much all of your houses and landscaping. And I finally have a computer who can handle them Looking forward towards my own neighborhood of victorian styled homes I'm going to have soo much fun!
You're such an inspiration to many of us and to me the queen of moo'ing!
Wedgewood is a Victorian manor with 7 bedrooms and 5 levels. it is a DNA Request for macapaca who had to wait 4 weeks - or more- for me to build! Eeeks! it is a big home. She needed 6 bedrooms, but there was room for a 7th..as well as a couple of rooms she didn't request, but there was room...so...Well, here we go on our photo tour and you'll see a bit of all the rooms.
Thank you for viewing! Please drop me a note! This build was top priority for my free time this past month, and now that it is done, I promise not to be a stranger!
 It is a masterpiece sweetie. Really.
I love the way the path and the steps lead up to the house, and maybe my most favourite thing is the gallery in the library.
Everything is really beautiful, your attention to detail as always masterful.
If I played families, this would be the home I would play. It is breathtaking in its details. Truly awesome.
I actually don't have words to describe how lovely I find it, they all sound trite, banal and overused.
Oh! Speaking of that little pathway, we will be learning this as part of our Zoo U "MOOve your Grass" lesson on Saturday, April 19th! I designed the elevation of this house just to incorporate terrain levels and to show you how to elevate and recede the terrain for some lot landscaping drama.
This path is going to be something we will talk about and I'll show you how to do this in the class. It will be on April 19th..and ZooProfessor3 will have a sign-up for the class. We will also talk about how to find the right levels to do this kind of house and how to pre-plan for manipulating the terrain. I will help you take the guess work out of this. Note the levels of terrain all through this lot.....How the pool is at basement level, but then your sims step up to the garden level behind it. Can you see how you go up to the front door, but the driveway sweeps down a bit to the garage and basement level?
Thank you Christine! I need to come see how your world is coming along! I have had tunnel vision to complete this home in as timely a fashion as I could,...and....our basement flooded....which has not conductive to simming...and I found out that what kept me so sick all winter was actually undiagnosed Mono (!!!) so I haven't been on the forums or paying attention to my friends as I should! I plan on spending tomorrow pouring over all of your newest creations and sending my greetings! It's going to be a rest day and a jammie day!!!

Coming up the stairs you'll see a little balcony that leads to the French doors to the exterior balcony. This connects to the little girls' room, and as you can see, they have taken it over for their playroom:

There is a guest suite or a butler's room here too, with its own walkout to a small garden:
<a href="http://s400.photobucket.com/user/taryntempestwind/media/taryntempestwind001/Screenshot-398_zps88e85d81.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp84/taryntempestwind/taryntempestwind001/Screenshot-398_zps88e85d81.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Screenshot-398_zps88e85d81.jpg"/></a>

There is also a large alchemy room that is hidden in the house and thanks to ZooProfessor3's tester Julianna, it is all stocked with goodies for you!
<a href="http://s400.photobucket.com/user/taryntempestwind/media/taryntempestwind001/Screenshot-360_zps13f8cbde.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp84/taryntempestwind/taryntempestwind001/Screenshot-360_zps13f8cbde.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Screenshot-360_zps13f8cbde.jpg"/></a>
The house is fully upgraded throughout; fireproof, unbreakable, or self cleaning. No CC is used, as always, and it is fully play tested.
Thank you to MolliesDollies for thinking of the perfect name for this home, because I have been absolutely stumped!

Thank you for viewing! Please drop me a note! This build was top priority for my free time this past month, and now that it is done, I promise not to be a stranger!
xoxo Taryn
I love the way the path and the steps lead up to the house, and maybe my most favourite thing is the gallery in the library.
Everything is really beautiful, your attention to detail as always masterful.
If I played families, this would be the home I would play. It is breathtaking in its details. Truly awesome.
I actually don't have words to describe how lovely I find it, they all sound trite, banal and overused.
PS>....I don't really play families either...I just build, build, build away!

And if you took my MOO U class...Note the detailed gingerbread and molding MOOIng on the front exterior of this home...can you spot them?
<a href="http://s400.photobucket.com/user/taryntempestwind/media/taryntempestwind001/Screenshot-404_zps9ebf8899.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp84/taryntempestwind/taryntempestwind001/Screenshot-404_zps9ebf8899.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Screenshot-404_zps9ebf8899.jpg"/></a>
We will also be talking about landscaping painting..one of my favorite things!
So watch for Zoo's sign up in a week or two and come join me. Bring Candy. Taryn likes candy....
It is a very highly detailed home! It is very nice both the exterior, the outdoors areas and the furnishing and layout of the interior!
