Sheeesh!!! I forgot how much "fun" the Exchange can be when Liam is having a crappy day - lol!!
Persistence paid off though and I have finally been able to get in and rec Easton Cay and a few of your older builds that I missed during my absence!
Your builds are always so beautifully designed and thought out, and the decor is always to die for!! Oh to have one-tenth of the skill you possess in interior design - *le sigh*..
Easton Cay is a very nice modern home. Great exterior design of it! It looks nice how you have done the water fountain features in the front of the home. The way you have done the flowers.trees and plants in the square areas in the front of the build looks very nice. It looks great that you have placed the water jet feature between the 2 flower beds. It looks nice that you placed the pots of plants either side of the water feature near the garage. Great shape of the garage. The type of and way that you have placed the windows through the home looks very nice. Very nice pool area. Sims will enjoy relaxing in the hot tub or on the shaded loungers poolside. It looks very nice how you have placed the walls/fencing and the greenery planter boxes on the sides of the hot tub. The plants along the edge of the pool area look great. Child sims will have fun playing on the equipment in the playground area. Very nice furnishing of the interior! It looks very nice that you have placed the fountain under the entrance staircase! Very nice living room! It looks great how you have placed the sofa and arm chairs in the room, for sims to warm up near the fire of the fireplace and to enjoy relaxing whilst sitting watching tv. It looks great how you have done the tv alcove section with the shelving and have placed the items on the shelves! It is nice for sims to see whilst they are watching tv. Great texture that you have used for the tv and fireplace walls. It is ice that you placed a picture on the fireplace wall for sims to see when sitting there warming themselves up. Great window study desk area in the library/study for sims to use the computer at the table whilst the sunlight comes in onto them through the windows. Nice design of the kitchen. It looks great that you coloured the bar stools yellow, adding touches of colour to the room. The 2 sided fireplace looks great. Nice type of ceiling lights that you have used in the kitchen and dining room. It looks great how you have set up the seats on the sides of the dining table, for many family members and friends to enjoy eating their meals together. They will enjoy having the sunlight coming in through the windows as they are dining there and also enjoy looking out through the windows to see what is happening outdoors. Nice furnishing of the master bedroom. The shelving behind the bed looks great. The blinds you have used for the window there looks great. The master bathroom is nice. The pattern that you have used for the floor mat looks great. Sims will enjoy relaxing in the bathtub with the natural light coming in onto them. It is great how you have done the corner area there, with the beauty products and vase on top of the table. Nice pattern of the floor mat in the nursery. It is nice that you have a rocking chair there for parent sims to rest in and hold their child sims in their arms, or just sit and watch the little sims whilst they are sleeping. It looks great how you have done the corner curtains around the cot. Very nice family room. Great shelves alcove area next to the fireplace. It looks a nice place for the family of sims to gather and relax together watching tv. They will have very nice views through the windows. The type of standing floor lights that you have used look great and suit the home. Nice shades of yellow, orange and black that you have used in the room. Very nice roof top garden area. Sims will enjoy relaxing o the loungers there, enjoying the outdoors air as well as harvesting produce from the plants in the planters to use in cooking. Very nice furnishing of the teen and girls bedrooms. It looks great that you have used the surf pattern on a banner in the teen room. The flag banners on the wall look great. It looks great how you have done the shelving in both of the bedrooms! The girl's room looks very pretty! It looks very nice how you have done the bedhead wall for the girls room. The fishes there look great, an d it looks great how you have placed the bookshelf.. The paintings and butterflies on the side wall look very nice. Great study desk area for sims to use a computer at the table. It is nice how you have done the patterned floor mat.
It is a very nice modern home!
Hi Taryn
Modern\Contemporary   This just shows what a wonderful and versatile builder you are. This build has a warm welcoming feeling, wonderful ideas and use of Moo though out. It looks realistic and I love all the pictures of the rooms showing the views though the windows. Left a rec Hugs Folly
I know, Yanti! A modern? From me? What has happened in the Sims' world!?
I had a lot of fun building it, that's for sure. It isn't my normal style, but that made it fun. And I had fun white white and black and wood tones, with pops of primary colors. Will there be more moderns? Probably, yes. Sure! Why not? I just like to build all sorts of different homes.
Thank you for the rec, Yanti!
The element of surprise is always nice! It is lovely to see another style of build from you and yes I am so looking forward to seeing more moderns from you. In fact, I look forward to all your builds! All of them are of top notch quality! You are an inspiration dear Taryn ((Hugs))
Thank you Yanti! You are such a sweetheart. Know what I noticed last week? Look who has the very first comment and encouragement or me on this thread....that's right Yanti! it's you! You were my First poster! Isn't that neat?
I haven't gotten to see this, due to lack of simming due to a hard drive fail.Just stopped by and peeked.Must say I really like this home! I'm usually not a fan of moderns. But you made this unique and different from most moderns! I really love the colors you used.Gonna download, rec and favorite.
Wow, that's a fantastic modern! And you say that this is your first? You seem to be a natural at it! I love the coloring with all these horizontal and vertical lines running through the architecture. It's like looking at a certain work of art. You could almost call this a mid-century modern. It has that feel.
I left a rec. I should go check out your other builds sometime.
Hi sweetie, its been a while and i have been missing out on all the fun.. your 1st modern and yes you did it with the style and grace of a goddess builder.. when i started building and playing the Sims many moons ago..four walls some windows and a roof, made you think you could do anything..If you managed that under half a day you were on top of the world..
Looking back I laugh at my mother who once couldn't be bothered putting walls up in her house and so she had the bathroom in the lounge.. lol..
So here we are with your gorgeous new modern. Yes i think you could build anything and
you would do a wonderful job.. rec'd and added to fav's xx Jules
Thank you Bree, Harley and 2MaHawk! It is my second modern....not really my own personal style, but was fun to build and decorate in a different way! Thanks again!
This new build is a DNA Request Team build for Purple_Roses2110. It's a Gothic/Victorian manor with 5 family bedrooms, maids' and butler's quarters, formal living spaces and secrets!
Now remember how I told you I've been watching too much Downton Abby? I had the room in the attic, so I dedicated this to the servants quarters. I did this as a bonus. But if this lot is so big, (and it really is a big, detailed lot) This is a space you could clear out and save some of the graphic load on your computer. It is extra space that you could redecorate if you needed extra family bedrooms too. But I had tons of fun making this space.
NO CC as usual. If you see things you don't recognize, they are just MOOed. If you were one of my ZOO U/ MOO U students, there is quite a lot of MOOing on the exterior you might enjoy taking apart.
Everything has been tested and upgraded. Thanks for sticking with me through all of these pictures. This house has become one of my favorites, and I hated to leave anything out! Sorry!!!
Thanks to Purple_Roses for sending me a great inspiration picture for this house. I hope you love your house!
I can't stop looking through all the pictures!!!Beautiful, stunning, very detailed. I adore the cold cellar and the "private school". Those touchs make your buildings always special. Downloaded and rec. Keep up your amazing work!!!!

Rosebrook Estates (The sun as shining beautifully on the front facade at abou 4PM in game in this photo):

Instead of a traditional garage, I made a carriage house instead. This has apartment space left undecorated for you to customize however suits your family and game best:
<a href="http://s400.photobucket.com/user/taryntempestwind/media/Screenshot-46-Copy_zps18e6a767.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp84/taryntempestwind/Screenshot-46-Copy_zps18e6a767.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Screenshot-46-Copy_zps18e6a767.jpg"/></a>
I MOOed together a little Victorian inspired playground set:
<a href="http://s400.photobucket.com/user/taryntempestwind/media/Screenshot-48-Copy_zpsdd1c0071.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp84/taryntempestwind/Screenshot-48-Copy_zpsdd1c0071.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Screenshot-48-Copy_zpsdd1c0071.jpg"/></a>
The back of the house:
<a href="http://s400.photobucket.com/user/taryntempestwind/media/Screenshot-163_zps28b5588a.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp84/taryntempestwind/Screenshot-163_zps28b5588a.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Screenshot-163_zps28b5588a.jpg"/></a>
The reflecting pool and garden (swimmable, or just decorative)
<a href="http://s400.photobucket.com/user/taryntempestwind/media/Screenshot-49_zpsc5c10b1e.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp84/taryntempestwind/Screenshot-49_zpsc5c10b1e.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Screenshot-49_zpsc5c10b1e.jpg"/></a>
There is a little path that cuts across the brook to a greenhouse and wishing well. The wishing well surely inspires a little closer exploration:
<a href="http://s400.photobucket.com/user/taryntempestwind/media/Screenshot-44_zps4a4c92ea.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp84/taryntempestwind/Screenshot-44_zps4a4c92ea.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Screenshot-44_zps4a4c92ea.jpg"/></a>
A formal fountain:
<a href="http://s400.photobucket.com/user/taryntempestwind/media/Screenshot-50-Copy_zps20194eb3.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp84/taryntempestwind/Screenshot-50-Copy_zps20194eb3.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Screenshot-50-Copy_zps20194eb3.jpg"/></a>
Another view of the greenhouse and path:
<a href="http://s400.photobucket.com/user/taryntempestwind/media/Screenshot-165_zps6ea1d7d4.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp84/taryntempestwind/Screenshot-165_zps6ea1d7d4.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Screenshot-165_zps6ea1d7d4.jpg"/></a>
Side of the house with the brook. Stocked for fishing:
<a href="http://s400.photobucket.com/user/taryntempestwind/media/Screenshot-53_zpsdc76e25b.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp84/taryntempestwind/Screenshot-53_zpsdc76e25b.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Screenshot-53_zpsdc76e25b.jpg"/></a>
Over the curved bridge is a picnic area with horseshoes…to give your fmily a reason to come out to the part of the yard and play:
<a href="http://s400.photobucket.com/user/taryntempestwind/media/Screenshot-52_zpscbd78d64.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp84/taryntempestwind/Screenshot-52_zpscbd78d64.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Screenshot-52_zpscbd78d64.jpg"/></a>
Coming into the house, this is the receiving area between the twin staircases that show off the conservatory windows:
<a href="http://s400.photobucket.com/user/taryntempestwind/media/Screenshot-146_zps78b9664e.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp84/taryntempestwind/Screenshot-146_zps78b9664e.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Screenshot-146_zps78b9664e.jpg"/></a>
The opposite view of the foyer:
<a href="http://s400.photobucket.com/user/taryntempestwind/media/Screenshot-140_zps7fe39854.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp84/taryntempestwind/Screenshot-140_zps7fe39854.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Screenshot-140_zps7fe39854.jpg"/></a>
The is the breakfast room for the family, with a little seating area in the conservatory:
<a href="http://s400.photobucket.com/user/taryntempestwind/media/Screenshot-143_zps2d42ab76.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp84/taryntempestwind/Screenshot-143_zps2d42ab76.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Screenshot-143_zps2d42ab76.jpg"/></a>
The kitchen in this home is a real working kitchen. The family takes their meals in the formal dining room, or the sunny breakfast room, but the kitchen is for staff! (I've been watching too much Downton Abby! LOL!)
<a href="http://s400.photobucket.com/user/taryntempestwind/media/Screenshot-149_zps85a71328.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp84/taryntempestwind/Screenshot-149_zps85a71328.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Screenshot-149_zps85a71328.jpg"/></a>
A butler's pantry acts as a servants entrance and pass through to the formal dining room. Here the butler can choose the proper wine for the evening meal:
<a href="http://s400.photobucket.com/user/taryntempestwind/media/Screenshot-151_zps181ce918.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp84/taryntempestwind/Screenshot-151_zps181ce918.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Screenshot-151_zps181ce918.jpg"/></a>
The formal dining room:

The music and drawing room:
<a href="http://s400.photobucket.com/user/taryntempestwind/media/Screenshot-134_zpsdfd24ecb.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp84/taryntempestwind/Screenshot-134_zpsdfd24ecb.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Screenshot-134_zpsdfd24ecb.jpg"/></a>
The living room:
<a href="http://s400.photobucket.com/user/taryntempestwind/media/Screenshot-169_zps42482644.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp84/taryntempestwind/Screenshot-169_zps42482644.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Screenshot-169_zps42482644.jpg"/></a>
The living room flows into the library. There is a back stairway here too:
<a href="http://s400.photobucket.com/user/taryntempestwind/media/Screenshot-136_zpsba5404ec.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp84/taryntempestwind/Screenshot-136_zpsba5404ec.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Screenshot-136_zpsba5404ec.jpg"/></a>
The library:

One of the guest suites. This one has a private bath:
<a href="http://s400.photobucket.com/user/taryntempestwind/media/Screenshot-139_zpse1493b93.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp84/taryntempestwind/Screenshot-139_zpse1493b93.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Screenshot-139_zpse1493b93.jpg"/></a>
Upstairs, Here is the fountain that is visible from the second story bridge:
<a href="http://s400.photobucket.com/user/taryntempestwind/media/Screenshot-123_zpsf8882308.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp84/taryntempestwind/Screenshot-123_zpsf8882308.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Screenshot-123_zpsf8882308.jpg"/></a>
The master bedroom:
<a href="http://s400.photobucket.com/user/taryntempestwind/media/Screenshot-130_zpsbbda37a4.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp84/taryntempestwind/Screenshot-130_zpsbbda37a4.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Screenshot-130_zpsbbda37a4.jpg"/></a>
The master bath:

Between the two children's bedrooms is a small sitting area:
<a href="http://s400.photobucket.com/user/taryntempestwind/media/Screenshot-124_zps7007048a.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp84/taryntempestwind/Screenshot-124_zps7007048a.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Screenshot-124_zps7007048a.jpg"/></a>
This is the little girl's room. I have placed a crib and a twin bed, so that you can have room for two little girls, or store either the crib or the bed in your inventory:
<a href="http://s400.photobucket.com/user/taryntempestwind/media/Screenshot-127_zpsa9086e01.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp84/taryntempestwind/Screenshot-127_zpsa9086e01.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Screenshot-127_zpsa9086e01.jpg"/></a>
The little boy's room is set up the same way, with crib and bed for dual use or for storing one or the other- so that the room can grow with your child.
<a href="http://s400.photobucket.com/user/taryntempestwind/media/Screenshot-133_zps888cc462.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp84/taryntempestwind/Screenshot-133_zps888cc462.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Screenshot-133_zps888cc462.jpg"/></a>
There's another guest room on this level as well:
<a href="http://s400.photobucket.com/user/taryntempestwind/media/Screenshot-119_zps07a09bd6.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp84/taryntempestwind/Screenshot-119_zps07a09bd6.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Screenshot-119_zps07a09bd6.jpg"/></a>
Guest bath just across the hall:
<a href="http://s400.photobucket.com/user/taryntempestwind/media/Screenshot-120_zpscd9827b5.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp84/taryntempestwind/Screenshot-120_zpscd9827b5.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Screenshot-120_zpscd9827b5.jpg"/></a>
Now remember how I told you I've been watching too much Downton Abby? I had the room in the attic, so I dedicated this to the servants quarters. I did this as a bonus. It is extra space that you could redecorate if you needed extra family bedrooms too. But I had tons of fun making this space.
The main area is a school room with a small playroom for children. Children could be privately tutored here.
<a href="http://s400.photobucket.com/user/taryntempestwind/media/Screenshot-64_zpsad082b0a.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp84/taryntempestwind/Screenshot-64_zpsad082b0a.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Screenshot-64_zpsad082b0a.jpg"/></a>
The butler's room:
<a href="http://s400.photobucket.com/user/taryntempestwind/media/Screenshot-115_zpsf7c9974a.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp84/taryntempestwind/Screenshot-115_zpsf7c9974a.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Screenshot-115_zpsf7c9974a.jpg"/></a>
The maids' room. This room is set up for perhaps the cook and lady's maid.
<a href="http://s400.photobucket.com/user/taryntempestwind/media/Screenshot-117_zpse06af84e.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp84/taryntempestwind/Screenshot-117_zpse06af84e.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Screenshot-117_zpse06af84e.jpg"/></a>
The servants bath and washroom:
<a href="http://s400.photobucket.com/user/taryntempestwind/media/Screenshot-114_zps3739114a.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp84/taryntempestwind/Screenshot-114_zps3739114a.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Screenshot-114_zps3739114a.jpg"/></a>
I had this idea to put in a cold cellar, thinking that the house was built before refrigerators, so an ice house was needed.
<a href="http://s400.photobucket.com/user/taryntempestwind/media/Screenshot-154_zps21ba2463.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp84/taryntempestwind/Screenshot-154_zps21ba2463.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Screenshot-154_zps21ba2463.jpg"/></a>
Down the little ladder, you'll find the cold cellar. Now it is for canned good storage, or for a storm cellar:
<a href="http://s400.photobucket.com/user/taryntempestwind/media/Screenshot-155_zpsc67d170b.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp84/taryntempestwind/Screenshot-155_zpsc67d170b.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Screenshot-155_zpsc67d170b.jpg"/></a>
Well, I think it's time to show you some teasers of the secret rooms. There is a large magic room, hidden on this lot. I have MOOed some magic items together, but there is plenty of space for the store magic items. Just rearrange to suit.
