I'd much rather see them just put these hairstyles in the game, instead of having to pay for hairstyles that are as common as brown eyes in real life! I mean, this is ridiculous. I would be VERY upset if they decided to add curly hairstyles into the store, and then completely neglected those that do not wish to dish out the extra dough for a few digital items. It's just absurd.

WE NEED MORE HAIR SELECTIONS! First of all, we need some more long hair! I mean ones that are longer than the armpits(or up to) for the girls. For the guys, there should be different hairstyles, like curly, straight, u get the picture.

If we can't have the real mesh, I would take your idea... gladly. It's better than the nothing we have now.
FYI- this is what ~Schweighsr gave as a reason why the meshes are missing:
Curly Hair is harder to make than straight hair - that is why there are no curly hair-styles in TS3 and why the 'curly' hair-styles in TS2 were so straight.
Curly hair uses more polygons which slows the game down. EA can't change the rules of physics, so they chose to give us hair styles that were low polygon-count and therefore wouldn't slow down the average system.
Sounds logical, but I still want my avatar to look right. I have botticelli/spiral curls - my avatar looks dorky without them in my opinion. Oh well.

You guys are missing a lot. go to this site http://mysims3blog.blogspot.com/ , it has many hairs and everything for the sims 3, just explore trough it, I know you'll find something.
My hair is naturally straight as a board. I always wished for naturally curly hair, but it does take a perm very nicely. We poor straight-haired people should be able to perm our Sims' hair, too!
Aside from that, we really need more hairstyles! Short, long, curly, wavy, different!
Curly hair for sure as well as many more styles and if this store
is staying at a reasonable price. 4 styles for 75 pts.
Also make sure the styles are for both sexes.
