I know Kits are controversial and not well liked, I am not a fan either and find most of them have missed the mark. But I was thinking: what kind of kit would I like?
Since the bloomin room kit was one of the most popular in recent polls I feel like it would be useful to make kits that fill a certain players needs.
For example, I'd like:
Home-office kit:
- Standing desks
- More office chairs
- Full body outfits where the top is nice but the bottom is comfy
- more office-like equipment
- ability to lock doors during certain times
This is something that I'd like for my realistic game-play.
Another would be:
Average Joe Clothing kit, clothes for the every day dude.
Simpler tops and more types of jeans (I'm specifically looking for items that will look good on masculine frames but I would also want to be able to use them on feminine sims). I often feel like I can't create my SO in game because he wears very simple clothes that don't really match whst we have in game.
More niche hobby kits such as:
Pottery
- turn table
- painting station
- decorative pots you can make and sell
- messy clothes to wear
- protective tarp for on the floor
These are just some of my ideas, what would be a kit you WOULD be willing to buy if they released it?

Pool Stuff Kit
- Diving Boards of different heights(and new diving skill)
- Slide
- Pool toys for kids
Toddler Kit
- 2 or 3 Toddler skill building toys (specifically for Logic cause that is lacking.)
- Toddler play pen
- Toddler half-bath (so a tub to bath them but is half the size so fits in tiny homes better)
Kid Kit
-2 or 3 skill building toys
-A tree house
-Home school option
-A private school option
I also want kits directed at Occult players. I don't want them to cram a whole life state in a kit because I want it fleshed out, but even if they improved some of the ones we already have with Kits. Some examples:
Alien Kit
-Add a few more alien outfits
-Give Aliens a few more abilities, maybe a branching reskin of the vampires one with different things (examples are teleportation, mind reading, telekinesis)
-Add more Alien collectibles on Sixam
Mermaid Kit
-Add more fin styles and colours
-Fin Hot tub animation
-Bring back fin leg scales as an option from Sims 3 (for Toddler to adult)
- Mermaid themed bassinet
- Do more for kid and toddler mermaids, even if it's just only having fins in the bathtub or something.
- Add an ability or two for Mermaid sims
Not everyone wants to wear a beard, either. I'm not sure why you think body hair couldn't be just as optional as facial hair is at present. I'd be glad to see body hair in the game, but I wouldn't buy a kit for it; that's something that I'd expect to see added to the base game. For now I use CC body hair for my sims who would normally have any. I do not want hair of any kind that grows, though, not for head, face, or body, especially not if people have to pay just to get more facial hair styles or ANY body hair at all.
That said, I wouldn't mind at all if some really "out there" styles were released in a kit for people who can make use of niche kit items for their own varied purposes. I'd probably pass on it myself, but I hope kits don't start offering any kind of truly basic stuff that would make more sense as base game updates or various pack updates.
Because I can't; I keep all sigs turned off.
Pool Kit It would need gameplay for pool slides,Interactive pool waterfalls, pool bars and wave machines.
Bathroom Kit
Bedroom Kit
Mermaid Kit
Arcade Kit Would need Gameplay
Well, I do think body hair could be optional, I’ve just read discussions on this very forum with people saying they would not want it in game. I take it that means optional or not, hence why I said a kit could be an option seeing as kits have been promoted as a way to implement niche content into the game that not everyone would be interested in. And yes, as a response to the heading “Kits you would actually buy” this I would actually buy at the current price tag (as much as I do agree that body hair if implemented ought to be base game and optional), but only if it contained something more as well. Body hair on its own - no, that I wouldn’t buy - or on second thought, maybe I actually would.
Fair enough. I guess we simply interpreted the ongoing "body hair debate" differently.
Because I can't; I keep all sigs turned off.
Body hair will most likely come in a free update probably not a kit.
-Lolita kit
-Casual menswear (not weird high fashion, just everyday masculine clothes that can also be worn on feminine frames)
-Any decades fashion (but for me 80s and 90s would be much loved)
-Community lot build kit (things to make grocery stores, fast food restaurants, ice cream parlors, etc)
-Clutter kit (again, not particularly themed, just stuff you would find in an average, everyday home)
-Sleepwear/underwear kit. We’re severely lacking in sleepwear.
-A clothing kit with Sims themed clothing (plumbob patterns, Freezer Bunny, llamas, Simlish writing, Woohoo hearts, Grim, aliens, grilled cheese, etc).
Pool Kit - it'd be gameplay though which they haven't done a second kit of.
Retro/Decades Build/Buy Kit - one per decade for as far back as they want to go.
Bayside Build/Buy Kit - Bayside was my absolute favorite theme from the Sims 3, so if they wanted to revisit that in Sims 4 I would 100% buy it. They'd probably want to break it down per room or maybe 2 rooms to a kit.
I also like collabs - HM, Ikea, Chanel (both high and low, everyday and high fashion).
Cultural kits from various parts of the world - clothes, food and bb.
I thought about it, but i would like a tattoo artist active career
- small objects kit with small, or arguably normal sized variants for the ridiculously huge objects. I am thinking about a telescope, microscope, cupcake factory, dollhouse, upright piano cauldron,.. The small cauldron could fit on counters and the microscope on tables/desks
- new instruments kit. I don't need a big DLC around music or bands but a few new instruments would be welcome, for example a saxophone, harp, cello,...
- historical clothing, preferably medieval for all the family (all age groups and genders)
- futuristic clothing for all ages
- futuristic furniture. I really like the futuristic furniture in sims freeplay.
There are some good ideas already mentioned here. I didn't consider them but would be definitely interested in a kit for hobbies, pool stuff and alien clothing
- any kitchen appliances as kettle, blender ect.
- rabbit hole/freelance career
- pool stuff
- community lots stuff
CAS:
- casual clothing
- hairstyles
- tatoos
- shoes (especially high heels)
- underwear
B/B:
- Wallpapers+flooring
- modern kitchen
- modern bathroom
- bedroom stuff
- livingroom
- teenage room
- kids room
- Pool Stuff - slides, volleyball, inner-tubes, diving sticks, etc
- Treehouse - place down the tree base and children to elders can build a treehouse together in it
- Board games - a variety of games we can place on a table and play with multiple sims
- Blender/juicer - combine ingredients to discover a variety of drinks, each with their own effect
Build/Buy
- Curtains
- Clutter of all shapes and sizes
- Rugs
- Lighting fixtures
- Wall art
- Man Cave
- Garage
- Futuristic
CAS
- Toddler clothes
- Casual men's ware
- Swimsuits
- Makeup
- Futuristic
- Goth
- Medieval
Yes to all of these, but mostly the board game kit. I would love Sims to be able to hang out and play board games or table top together.
I also realized this morning how much I would love an accessory pack kit. Scarves, hats, gloves, purses, messenger bags, backpacks, glasses, veils, etc.
Or a shoe kit cause a lot of the shoes are still lame. They’ve been better in more recent packs, but now it’s time for some better heels.
Oh yes, I can't believe I forgot Casinos. I would absolutely buy a Casino kit, - though it would likely be a gameplay kit - and also something medieval which could be build/buy.
That would be cool, I'm a fan of game play and I only bought bust the dust but yea, more game play kits would be nice. :O
Gameplay!
Gameplay!
I have plenty of clothes and BB stuff already but my sims need more actual things to do!
