This happened to me too. I've never downloaded anything from the exchange or used CC. I've seen lots of people posting about the invisible sim problem, CC or not, since Ambitions came out.
Hmm... I've been playing ambitions since the day it came out, pretty much everyday (ha, that's a little sad...) and still not been hit by a meteor. I haven't really used fireproof homestead except with a family I played real briefly. I didn't even know about the meteor thing. So... I'd also like to know how! Or maybe it's…
I also had a sim completely disappear after another sim in the household returned from China. I messed around with the game a bit, tried some people's suggestions, and eventually my sims icon box came back (no picture in it though) and the sim is now INVISIBLE rather then gone. She has a plumbob, but that's all I can see.…
Did you add TS3 as well as any expansions and stuff packs that you have? That fixed most of my crashing. Although it still happens sometimes... but not nearly as often.
I had a sim master the architect career without doing a single renovation! He just sat at his easel day and night painting, and kept getting promoted and eventually mastered it, ha!
Traveling to China did indeed destroy my game. Shortly after I came back, all the controls around the screen disappeared - all sim thumbnails and wants and panels, everything. It was just the sims going about there business, but I couldn't do anything but watch. I fixed that problem by uninstalling and reinstalling, and…
My family trees seem to mess up either when my family is big, or after a sim returns from vacation. It really makes me sad, I can't play legacies anymore and I never want to travel :( Many people have had this problem. I hope EA addresses it.
This didn't work for me. I went into Edit Town and used "split up household" to move out my invisible sim, moved her into a different home, and then evicted her and merged her back in with her family, but she was still invisible. Am I missing some little detail or is it just not working for me? Did you keep your active…
resetSim doesn't work. changing resolution doesn't work. none of the suggestions on other boards work either. It seems like this bug is a clash between World Adventures and Ambitions that a lot of people are having. Mostly everyone (including me) has been getting an invisible Sim after a Sim in the same household returns…
I always have some sort of problem when I use world adventures. Usually the traveling sims family tree breaks or a sim is missing or something like that. I didn't go on vacation at all in this case, so I don't know if it's the same as your situation, but I'll try switching my active and see if that helps at all. Thanks for…
It is annoying. I never use stereos in-game because of how often the sims start working out or dancing. There's probably a mod to stop the autonomic working-out/dancing somewhere, I'm pretty sure I've seen it. Although mods are risky these days but... you could give it a shot if EA doesn't respond, which they probably…
You're right. I've never used any mods or CC, aside from store content, in my Sims 3 game, ever, and I have a REALLY awesome PC that I built specifically for gaming awesomely. And still had many huge problems with Sims. All other PC games work relatively fine, even games that crush the sims in PC requirements.
I haven't tried CaW either yet because I just assume something will go wrong. Anyway what good is creating a world if I can't play it without tons of problems with the game. I've seen a bunch of people posting frustrated posts about how the patch for CaW broke it beyond usable..
I dunno, I don't think it's too much to expect a really popular game that you've supported for years and really enjoyed to not completely be a nightmare because of technical issues.
