  • I had this issue when I tried to play The Sims Life Stories on my no-name (generic) desktop using an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 which seems to be a result of the game not detecting the card correctly. I also had the black box bug on The Sims 2 and The Sims Stories as well (probably a Windows 10 issue). I know some games such…
  • Stuff Packs adding content for an Expansion Pack would sound like a good idea as it could add content to make the EP usable though at the cost of an extra $10. However, some Simmers fear that EA could deliberately avoid including the content in an EP or GP and later sell the missing content in a Stuff Pack rather than…
  • I don't know if there are issues of Sims not using the Dishwasher despite one being present in the lot. I believe the reason why the bug had occurred was because the developers forgot to program the Sims' AI to take account that a Dishwasher is included in the lot so that the Sim will use it. Due to the action not being…
  • Now it seems Amazon is making downloads/digital codes exclusively for Prime Members rather than just physical copies. First The Sims 4 on Xbox One and now Fallout 4 (and its Season Pass) and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy on PS4? I wonder if EA is aware of Amazon making TS4 Prime Exclusive because I would doubt that EA would…
  • @SimsLovinLycan I believe the only The Sims games that don't work on Windows 10 are The Sims (1) and The Sims Medieval (DVD), the reason they don't work on Windows 10 has to do something with the copy protection that the game uses. The Sims uses SafeDisc which is blocked on Windows 10 so The Sims (and any game using…
  • So far, only the Xbox One digital version of the standard edition is Prime exclusive, the retail versions on Xbox One and the Deluxe Party Edition code for Xbox One aren't Prime Exclusive. All The Sims 4 products on PlayStation 4 on Windows/macOS remain available to all Amazon users.
  • The game being a direct port of the PC/Mac version means that the PS4/Xbox One version will stay true to the original and devoid of limitations that plagued previous console games such as the controversial fire meter. It will also include the features added through updates (this could be good or bad depending on the…
  • I wonder if The Sims 2 UC uses Origin sign-in now. To test if it has Origin sign-in, make sure Origin isn't running and try to start The Sims 2 UC. If Origin doesn't start then it doesn't have Origin sign-in. If Origin opens, the game has Origin sign-in.
  • That would be interesting if the newer graphics causes problem with The Sims 2. I've heard of The Sims 3 not working on Macs that have newer Intel or AMD graphics but never any of The Sims games on Windows. Sadly like The Sims 3, Medieval, and 4, The Sims 2 and The Sims Stories use the GraphicsRules and GraphicsCards files…
  • DVD versions of The Sims Medieval do not work on Windows 8 or 10 (I think it's due to the copy protection used in TSM), you must use the Origin version of The Sims Medieval although be advised that the Origin release includes the Origin sign-in requirement much like The Sims 4 and The Sims 3 1.69.
  • Of all the Stuff Packs that I think are worth getting, I would choose Perfect Patio, Cool Kitchen, Romantic Garden, and Vintage Glamour due to their included content (Hot Tubs, Ice Cream maker, Wishing Well, and Butlers respectively) as well as Kids Room and Toddlers if you play kids or families. The other Stuff Packs on…
  • If you don't own a PC or Mac but own a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One and have interest in The Sims 4, the console version would be worth buying. If you already own the game on PC and Mac, there's no point of buying the game on console if the console version will be the same as PC and Mac, plus DLC on Origin will not transfer…
  • I've noticed that my thread got moved to this one maybe it's because it was too similar to this thread.
  • Until recently, there has never been any news of The Sims 4 coming to console suggesting that the negative reception of The Sims 3 Pets (and many Windows/macOS Simmers bashing PS3/Xbox 360 for not being the same) killed another chance for a future console game but that doesn't seem to be the case now that it's confirmed…
  • According to @SimGuruDrake on Twitter, it's said that there are no plans for Switch. That seems interesting considering that previous Sims console games were released on Nintendo consoles although The Sims 3 Pets was only released on Nintendo 3DS meaning The Sims 3 was the last game on a Nintendo console since it was…
  • Hopefully this game will be better than the previous console games. Most console games are regarded inferior to the PC/Mac version since the console's hardware wasn't good compared to the PCs being used but things are different with the PS4/Xbox One. I wonder what people think of the console version of the game. The only…
  • I wonder if the name of the Quest is a reference to The Urbz: Sims in the City which was released on November 2004 since its subtitle is Sims in the City, or if it's just a coincidence.
  • Actually The Sims 4 is estimated to cost around $360 (not including taxes) to purchase the game plus all DLC which assumes that you don't own The Sims 4 and aren't a member of Origin Access. The Sims 3 on the other hand costs $340, again, also assuming you don't own The Sims 3 and that you purchase The Sims 3 Starter Pack,…
  • @Nomiko13 I'm guessing your copy of The Sims 4 is an older copy because it only says PC DVD-ROM SOFTWARE (just like The Sims 2 and The Sims Stories games) whereas Get to Work's is different. Early copies of The Sims 4 only had PC DVD-ROM SOFTWARE and didn't mention Mac anywhere on the cover but later copies of The Sims 4…
  • I'm not sure if FreePlay is enjoyable today compared to before. While the French Romance Update removed the LP requirement to reverse aging which made Simmers happy, many Simmers are getting upset with the game constantly throwing Event after Event espeically with them being impossible or diffcult to complete without…
  • I'm playing the game on my Dell XPS 410 from 2007 with an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 (Core 2 Duo) and an AMD Radeon HD 5670, and you say my computer is not supported? I don't think there's anything in system requirements saying you need an Intel Core i5 to play The Sims 4. TS4 has lower system requirements than games such as…
  • Actually I think it does since it has an Intel Core i3 @ 2.4 GHz, Intel HD Graphics 620, 6 GB RAM, and a 1TB Hard drive which is enough to run both games although TS3 doesn't support newer Intel processors but unlike macOS, the game will run.
  • It seems some URLs don't bring up the page such as YouTube videos. Electronic Arts' homepage (https://www.ea.com/), Origin (https://www.origin.com), The Sims 3's website (http://www.thesims3.com/), The Sims' website (https://www.thesims.com/), and other EA game websites such as Dragon Age…
  • I've looked at two YouTube videos (the trailer and one from SimsVIP) about The Sims Mobile and the reactions are mixed. I'm surprised the trailer didn't get a lot of dislikes.
  • What can make Amazon Prime Exclusive items worse is many rival stores often carry the same item sometimes at the same price so it would be better to buy the item from another store if the other store is a better deal. In the video below, I've spotted some items like the NETGEAR PLW1000 and Logitech G105 being Prime…
  • @elram76 I'd say it's worth having since the AMD GPU is good and better than the Intel Iris Plus that the 13" MacBook Pro and the $1099 iMac come with plus it also comes with a 3.0 GHz Intel Core i5 which is fine for most people. 8GB of RAM is decent for today but I'll need advice from @BluebellFlora and @Tremayne4260 on…
  • I have updated the thread to include the new MacBook Pros and iMacs. I'm going to assume that all future Macs will not work with The Sims 3 due to their graphics being too new but I will need some confirmation about it.
  • It seems the 2017 MacBook Pro was released although it doesn't seem to have addressed the criticisms of the 2016 model such as needing adapters for common ports like USB and HDMI nor had they lowered the price (see the original post for the 2015 vs 2016/17 prices) although Apple had released one costing $1299 with 128GB…
  • I wonder what people think of the Parenthood Game Pack. It could be a good GP although it can have the same problem as Kids Room if the Simmer only plays with Adults and Elders as this would make Parenthood and Kids Room useless due to being geared towards kids and families.
