Many good points here which have been confirmed by gurus and game changers. The longer you play a save, the worse it gets. The more objects you have in your house and inventory, the worse it gets. Bigger households create more problems because they naturally increase simulation lag. I didn’t understand simulation lag until…
I usually get bored around gen 5 or 6. By that time the family is so rich and all the worlds are empty. It’s hard to keep going. I like the first part when the founder is getting started. I think a snowy escape legacy could be fun for a few generations.
I never got an orchid from splicing but I did get a dragon fruit, so it does work sometimes. I eventually got my orchid from purchasing rare seeds, but it wasn’t as satisfying.
Getting toddlers to max skills on normal lifespan is a challenge. I’ve only done it once and it was all I focused on. I know it can sound gross, but if you want to free up a lot of toddler time then ignore the potty skill. It’s so time consuming and getting it to max skill offers no advantage upon aging up to child. It’s…
My Sims have always washed dishes in the bathroom sink, and they continued to do so after the patch. So disappointed. Immediately took all the sinks out of the bathrooms again 😟
The simplest way to make the game harder is play bigger households. Juggling eight Sims isn’t easy. Raise multiple children on normal lifespan and get all the toddler and child skills to max level before they age up.
Downloaded the patch, removed all my mods, started a new save, everything looks great, no crashes, woo hoo! Then he went to eat, and immediately after walked to the bathroom to do the dishes. I was CRUSHED that this bug fix didn’t take.
I doubt there will be any clarification about this from the gurus, because it’s clearly going to be a new addition to the Simology Panel exclusive to the pack, just like Parenthood and Get Famous. They’ve already established how this works.
Carl’s latest video points out that the more objects and decorations a save builds over time, the greater the simulation lag. That includes crafted objects that sit in the household inventory.
I played TS4 for the first time in June, after never playing a previous Sims game. I started my first legacy challenge on Aug 4. I chose Sapphire Shores, the empty 50 x 50 lot in Sulani. It has been a blast playing there for six generations as I’ve learned the game. I also have City Living and Seasons, and let me tell you…
Omg, I have a sim with high mischief and all he ever wants to do is troll the forums. I almost deleted him because just the phrase “troll the forums” makes him sound like a predator. And have you seen the socials that come up at Winterfest? Sabotage the tree? Seriously? Who does that?
The Mermaid Legacy Challenge All normal rules apply, but the lot must be Sapphire Shores in Sulani. The founder cannot enter the game as a mermaid, but all 9 heirs must be mermaids. There is more than one way to accomplish this. 😊 Pick out a tattoo that goes to the heirs and then a different one for the spares.
There should be options to play online or alone. Even if there’s an option to play online, there need to be controls so you can play with certain people only.
I play an 8-person household and sometimes I use the fill household needs cheat on the mailbox just so I can enjoy the game for awhile. I prefer to not use cheats, but after playing this family through 5 generations with no cheats, I can’t continue if 90% of the gameplay is filling needs.
I love gardening and painting. The best part of the painting skill is paint from reference. My Sim did a painting of the house I built for him and then hung it on the wall. Very cool.
I went looking for his review today but glad he’s bowing out. His reviews are the perfect combo of informative and entertaining, but he has been repeating himself a lot.
It must be difficult to design a game for users with vastly different computer set ups. I play TS3 and TS4 on a $1500 gaming laptop and they both run as smooth as silk. And yet $1500 shouldn’t be the barrier of entry to play this game. The developers have to consider younger users with less equipped rigs. Otherwise it’s…

Many people come here to talk about the fun times they're having in TS4, yet when you look at the board, more than half of the threads are complaint threads. IT'S TOO MUCH. It ruins the collective mood for everyone else. > > If people want to complain, that's fine...but can't…
