  • I was finally able to correct the issue where the game would crash with my "fixed" package files if I went over the 2k limit. Somehow I had included a CC picture that was much larger than the base one and didn't catch it, and neither did the Conflict Catcher. I went through each of the package files I created and made sure…
  • But that is just the thing... until recently, this was not a problem at all. I had far more CC than I do now and had no problems connecting to the gallery or anything else in the game. This is a recent issue.
  • Don't mind in the least if they are helpful. I have not tried running the conflict detector in mono, but will see what that does. One of the things I've encountered that is disturbing is that with the combining of some of the cc "paintings"t that I did into one package; if I go over 2000+ CC then the game crashes.…
  • Update: I am now able to connect to the gallery after spending several days weeding through CC. I have 1,911 items in my mods folder now. One of the things that I did was combine several files of paintings into one package (not combining the packages themselves, but making one package file with about 5-10 paintings a piece…
  • I culled my CC and now have around 2083 items. I still can't connect. Interestingly, I have Sims 4 installed on Windows XP under Parallels. I copied over everything that I currently have on the Mac side and was able to log into the gallery on start up, while on the Mac side, I couldn't.
  • Yes, I had more CC than I do currently, and I didn't have a problem connecting to the gallery before. I've actually turned off my firewall, logged in and back out of Origin... still the problem persists.
  • Yes, I posted to that section, but did so here as well in case the problem was on PC platform as well... Thanks for trying to troubleshoot though.
  • Mac Pro (Mid 2012), Processor 3.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon with 32 GB RAM. 2x ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB Graphics Cards
  • I did this, and added Sims 4 as well to the firewall... turned off my anti-virus, and restarted my machine... still no connection. The issue is the number of CC in the folder as far as I can determine.
  • It is the gallery--the "downloadable content" icon that gives the message that I need to be connected to the internet to access. When I press to connect, it just spins and comes back and says it can't do so, even though I am clearly connected. Origin connects just fine at start up. I can connect to Origin. It is not the…
  • After some considerable amount of time testing the game, it appears that the ability to connect in-game is directly linked to the number of CC you have. I cleaned caches on my computer, restarted my computer, repaired the game (several times) and I even put the Electronic Arts folder on my desktop to make the game recreate…
  • I posted this in another thread, but just in case: I have my game updated to the latest patch, and Origin is updated. I also have all the expansion and stuff packs. That said: After some considerable amount of time testing the game, it appears that the ability to connect in-game is directly linked to the number of CC you…
  • I have all the expansion packs and stuff packs installed, and my game is updated to the latest version as is Origin, btw.

  • I'm having this problem too. I tried repair, but it leaves my game grayed out and I then can't choose "play" from within Origin until I shut it down, reopen it, and repair the game again. Even so, when I'm in game, I can't connect to the gallery. It says I'm not connected to the internet, although I am.
  • I began experiencing this problem tonight. I'm on a Mac... Although Origin is connected, in-game I can't connect to the gallery, etc. I have tried repairing the game (several times) because sometimes after repair the game is grayed out in Origin and won't let me open the game at all. After closing Origin and repairing the…
  • I give it 5/10. Gameplay and Sims are repetive, a ton of inhibited and missing features from previous games, and feels like a tremendous dumbed down step back related to previous versions--especially with the transition screen to even visit a neighbor. That said, it has a slick interface and easy to use controls.
  • I have played multiple hours designing and furnishing houses. Actual game play though seems fairly topical to me and the entire game, even with the expansions lacks the depth and immersion that Sims 3 offered. I mean, I am still astonished -- outside of improved graphics and controls -- at how much of a step back this game…
  • Gosh, that's kinda odd... It's been there from the beginning and we've had several patches so far.
  • Well, something is strange. I installed my new RAM, and now have 32 GB. I opened the SIMS and was in build mode. I checked my available memory and had 24 GB available. I went back to the game and opened Game Options. I go the VMap error and it crashed the game.
  • Yeah, but I'm not that great at using terminal and get a little freaked out by it ;-) So, I'm wondering if those of us who are experiencing the VMap error checked their RAM and freed up what we could prior to opening game options or the gallery would find a reduction in the error?
  • Follow up... Tonight while playing the sims, I checked my amount of RAM usage. I had like 512 mb left. I ran the "free up RAM" in the app mentioned above, resulting in me having about 3 gb available. I went back into the Sims and opened the gallery and there was no crash.
  • I have a program called "CleanMyMac 3." Among many of the things it does is monitor your RAM usage and will allow you to free up RAM as well. I have run the free up RAM aspect of the program while using the Sims and it seems to work fine (doing so did not crash my game). I have 16 GB of RAM and I notice that sometimes I…
  • > Why not just hold the Alt key then? hmm Because doing so will still make the object snap to the open slot and the "m" key will cycle through the open ones. I'm talking about filling all the slots so that auto-placement doesn't happen thereby allowing you to place the object anywhere on the surface you desire. Holding the…

Ever want to get an object placed just "so so" but try as you might, it keeps auto-placing in the spots you don't want it to? Say you want a piece of decor or clutter in a certain spot. I…
  • Movies? Really? I'd far prefer to have updates to the game that allowed for riding a bike, driving a car, and visiting a neighbors house without having to see a change screen. Why not focus on the aspects of the game that were removed in order to add greater depth on par with previous iterations before coming up with new…

  • I'm sorry, I misspoke. I have the folder, but there is not an .ini file in it. I was wondering if that was because I haven't saved a camera state? I will try your .ini file out, but the 9 & 0 keys are working on my game now that I am using the correct numbers on the keyboard (I have an extended keyboard-Logitech K750.…
