The years passed, and Kathryn grew into her role as a agribiz tycoon, with Huang Ranch as her base. Sarabelle, the youngest, was the only one interested in the ranch, but she didn't have the drive of her older sisters. Ellie was remarkably intelligent, but also withdrawn, preferring intense runs in the wilds followed by all-day programming sessions. Charlie, the oldest, was a musical prodigy who also loved playing computer games. She was such an active presence in the online gaming world that she won a scholarship to Foxbury as an e-sports competitor. Although she spent the first year at home, she surprised her mother by announcing she planned to move to Tamarang for the duration. Tamarang was a community that had only lately begun accepting outside visitation, but Charlie was attracted to it because SimScuffle was HUGE there professionally, and despite her musical talents she wanted to try to be an e-gamer at first. Tamarang was the place to be, obviously.

Charlie began living in a small apartment, and became fast friends with her upstairs neighbor, Vanesha Cahyaputri. That friendship grew into something more, and soon Charlie and Vanesha were an item, living together with Vanesha's kid sister. They moved to a house with a little more space, and Charlie continued her studies. After becoming captain of the Foxbury team, she ended a decade-long losing streak and took the team into not only the playoffs, but the championship. One asset she had was the fact that she understood how games were programmed, particularly SimScuffle, and she used her insight to maximize her in-game effectiveness. Soon, as hoped, the Tamarang Tigers were wooing her, and as soon as she graduated she had a spot on the team.

She continued with her musical studies, writing piano and violin pieces, and as the money poured in she and Vanesha decided to start a family, beginning with their first daughter Sudha. Charlie was becoming a major online entertainment figure, known for her colorfully dyed hair (usually purple), and she actively worked on her charisma and comedy skills, hoping to follow in the footsteps of her grandmother Jackie. One day, Vanesha was horrified to come home and find Charlie dead in front of the computer. After looking at security footage, she saw that Charlie had tragically fallen to the same illness that almost killed her grandmother: death by laughter. Vanesha was devestated, but Charlie's family rallied to her side: Kate vowed to give up her business tycoon career if needed and move in with Vanesha to help her raise the girls (Sudha, Diya, and Jade)

Charlie's was a weird death: the reaper never showed up, she just turned into an urn like this is The Sims 1 or something. The heir is Sudha, who is thankfully a child. She's #10, so provided I can keep her alive until young adult stage that's the legacy done. I'm disappointed: Charlie was a creative dynamo. I've never had a sim that could write piano songs faster. She was 4-stars in college just from piano music and painting. I had plans to have her tour the world taking photos of interesting places.

I loved the first two chapters, and you are so right, Charlotte and Haley are very different.🙂 I see potential for a lot of fireworks with Haley being in such a restrictive and oppressive situation.

@DaniRose2143 There is the Actor Overhaul mod from Maplebellsmods adds some new activities and things to do for actors, but it doesn't add more gigs to the studio portion of the Career.
A very interesting topic you've chosen for your storyline. Apparently, the community your Sims live in are still tied to some very Old School traditions. While they're not altogether bad traditions, I can see why some would rail against them. Haley is a free spirit. She might have trouble no matter where she goes, or in any Century. Very well written. I look forward to seeing more.
Very much enjoyed your update. I have come to realize I really, really, really don't like Dominic. This line struck me, ". . . Earlier, I had wanted to protect you from going through a “let them eat cake” era, but if you want to “play peasant in the village,” I won’t stop you." Really? Who does he think he is, her Master? Yikes. I'm glad she did well on her exams and her recital. Recitals can be scary. I hated doing them. I also hated having to learn the piano when I really wanted to learn the guitar. Oh, well. Your chapter was well-written.
Great update. Wow, Charlie was a real powerhouse, wasn't she? So sorry to learn of her demise. What a way for her child to find her mother. Well-written and I look forward to your completion of your Legacy.

I also just got Dine Out, a pack I just never got around to purchasing until now. After the Accolades, they went out for a fancy dinner in Tartosa, but I think Carrie may be regretting bringing such a young crew to such a fancy restaurant

@Ellupelluellu No, I didn't, mostly because prior to the Patch this venue worked very well. I did have a thought I should change it out, though. I may grab another game venue from a new save and see if that works. Thanks.
@GalacticGal it can't hurt to try. I use MCCC & also the default PBP Studios lot & once I unticked the "opt out" box in game options the Show works. My sim DJ won accolades for a book and two acting gigs & is nominated (first time) for a song. Really hoping you can get things working.

I've never had it ticked. I may tick it and then untick it and see if that jogs something. Who knows? I did manage to find the MTS JungleSim Fearless mod I used to have. The latest one was updated in 2023. I've installed it into my mods folder. Wish me luck. It's supposed to hide fears that are already there and to keep any new fears from showing up. Like I said, there used to be one called Fearless_All, which restrained all fears. This version combines several, including All. Feeling a bit better, that much is certain. Also managed to retrieve my long-lost Family Tree Maker program from the flash drive that contained all they were able to pull from my broken hard drive. Then, I was able to update, the updated version, too. All for FREE. See? I have a reason to be happy.
I'm currently on page 1292 of this thread and I caught up with @Lyrie story yesterday. Next story I'm going to tackle is @DaniRose2143 Under the Tartosan Sun. The holidays and moving really set me behind again.

I've been stuck in a bit of a writers block yesterday and again today so I thought I'd see if I spent some time messing around in CAS if I could find a spark. I've been meaning to create some grandparents for the main cast in Tartosan Sun so that's what I did today. This is Letisha Huntley, Londyn's paternal grandmother...
UPDATE: The box was unticked when I checked in under Options. I saw that my family had just arrived home from Church. It was around 11:30-ish AM on Sunday. I selected an outfit for Erik, a mostly matching color gown for Kayleigh and a suit for Jamison. Mind you, Erik had licensed a song, but while the royalties have gone up substantially, I wasn't holding my breath. That happened once before and it was a no-go. At any rate, after it grew closer to the time, I took them down to Del Sol Valley. Prior to getting into this save, I started a new one and grabbed the original PBP Studios Lounge and then opened my main save and placed that puppy on the lot. Upon arriving at the lot, I was ecstatic to see a Host was right there out front. Yay! They ran inside (do you think my Sims were anxious?) LOL The Host came in and proceeded to speak at the mic. After he handed out two awards, he totally blinked out. I'm talking he was nowhere. So, I exited without saving. I removed the LEs, etc. and deleted the localthumbcache.package and restarted the game. I went back into options and ticked the opt-out of fame box, since the default is everyone is opted out.
The Host, again was there. (MCCC was still installed, too). The Show proceeded; awards were handed out. This time I decided to save. I will attempt to write up another chapter/update, if not today, by tomorrow.

@permanentrose How did you get those two Infants to a restaurant? I tried to include Michael once, and the game whisked him off to Daycare, toot sweet! Please, do share your secret.
@GalacticGal you know how you can bring a sim to a lot just by clicking that little arrow thing on the top right corner of their icon when they are greyed out on another lot? You can bring infant and toddlers there by doing that even though it sends them to daycare a when you first load the lot. Also if you have pose player I’m sure the teleporter would work too. Also they can’t eat off the menu but with quick meals and finger foods, it makes them feel included (and realistic - since I feel like you bring food for the little ones in the diaper bag to most restaurants anyway lol)

I think I just got extremely lucky. Or, perhaps, leaving it unticked, only to tick that box again, did the trick. I sometimes think things get a tad stuck, when other things aren't change out. Does that make any sense? If not, I'm just tired.
