I’m determined to figure this out lol. Hydration is a significant part of how merfolk use their powers to change the weather and influence another sims emotions.
Two abilities have special significance in my gameplay. The Charmer’s Lullaby and Mermaid’s Kiss can build romance so quickly that I decided to reserve it for merfolk partners.
If I remember correctly, the other moodlets from the other songs have powerful effects too: Inspired, Tense, and Sad. Wish there were more songs.
I have a feeling my next update will be a long one if I do a full week. So, I’m going to break it into two posts.
As for a bland gameplay, sometimes I go through that, too. That's why I wait until more things happen and I can hopefully weave together an interesting tale. But, I have to write it up once inspiration strikes, so I don't totally blank-out on exactly what did happen. I know you'll do fine.

Fact of the matter, only Melodie is Independent. The other two have different Traits, that escape me at this moment. I do believe one of them has the Silly Trait, though. So, it's crazy that they're all resistant to being 'taught'. It's pretty much chaotic on a daily basis. Hence Erik mentioning his life is a Three-Ring Circus. LOL

Loving this storyline and the sarcasm in Gwen's statement is right up my alley! Looking forward to reading the next chapter.
Hoping I'll be inspired to play a little later, at least enough for a short update.
@crimsonnclover324, Gwen is... well, I like her.
It might be a bit before I post my next chapter. As should be obvious, I'm planning to incorporate werewolves but first I need to get a solid idea how they play. So, I probably won't be spamming posts quite as much... though I do have a backlog of screen-caps dealing with Cassie's brother Alexander and his ongoing relationship issues.
@GalacticGal For this, I definitely have plans to play with Sulani Merfolk Attire.
There’s a reason why merfolk wear what they wear. It’s not a completely random decision I made. I’m still experimenting with the situations I can implement what I have in mind though.
The reason the twins had a human childhood was because their mom was cursed. My merfolk do not live through the toddler and child life stages because there is absolutely no merfolk gameplay for those life stages. This is something I find upsetting because spellcaster children can at least interact with a familiar. I haven’t played with Vampire Children enough to know the limitations, but I believe there are similar limitations to merfolk.
Personally, I want to see the child life stage with a mermaid or merman form, at least. Mods exist. I know it’s possible. I just can’t use mods because I play on console.
My Merfolk Culture Outline
Merfolk Attire
1. Mermen don’t wear shirts because the extra drag from loose cloth would slow them down in the water. This could prove fatal if sharks were present in the water. For mermaids, it isn’t a very different situation.
2. All merfolk wear skirts because human pants wouldn't survive the shapeshifting transformation.
3. Even if younger merfolk don’t have their true form yet, it is important that they are comfortable in the new attire. Merlings tend to wear similar attire to older merfolk.
4. Few merfolk from Sulani disguise themselves. Any world with a strong connection to the Magic Realm simply don’t require hiding what they were.
5. The purpose of wearing human clothing would be to blend in with humans and hide the existence of merfolk from those who don’t already know they exist. In the World of Sulani, the merfolk attire is more than acceptable to blend in with humans.
6. Merfolk living in Sulani almost never conform to human clothing standards because they are too used to living close to the water and wearing outfits that are functional for an aquatic living.
@GirafHuntr I’m hoping to figure it out soon, but I can confirm that hotter temperatures cause faster hydration decay, a more pressing need to return to the water.

On another note,
I may or may not remove many of the human outfits for my Sulani Merfolk. I’m still debating on how much I want them to blend in with humans.
I have 8 merman princes that I use to explore the content from various packs.
So far, I’ve played with Parenthood (Lir) and Island Living and Jungle Adventure (Dylan and Zephyr).
Now, I’m headed back to Henford-on-Bagley for Cottage Living and Micro Home gameplay (Jack).
Obviously, Jack won’t dress like someone from Sulani. Despite his pink tail, he has quite the green thumb and is a romantic at heart.
But, the merfolk in Sulani are the merfolk that live the most aquatic lifestyle and spend the most time in their natural form. I almost expect them to not blend in with humans because it wouldn’t come naturally to them. The pretty much don’t have to disguise themselves in Sulani.
@luciusstorm This was my favorite line of that chapter.
Bella had the worst case of empty nest syndrome I have ever seen. Now it's Luna Elderberry (ne Villareal)... she's adopted one, had a second and clearly wants more.
@luciusstorm Kylen has called Cecelia, Sefina, Dylan, and Zeph multiple times. His twin sons are still teens living at home….
My Rock Star's only sister keeps calling to ask if she should have another baby. I have to go into her household and see just how old her youngest is, before I let her have another one. Although Erik just keeps telling have that baby!

The name comes from the Japanese origin that means Sky.
Sora is an Air Elemental because his father is the Spirit of the Sky and an Air Elemental.
Unfortunately, they live in a house designed for merfolk, and I have no where I can create a home suitable for humans in their current home. If Sora at least had the ability to sleep in water like his parents, I could play the child life stage. So, I’ll be skipping a life stage and cheating in the childhood aspiration cheat. I’ll also be cheating in the toddler trait.
This adds another merman to my game. I’m not sure the Zalrian Family will have a daughter in the legacy anytime soon. Like, Ember is the only natural born girl in the family. I had to change Jade’s gender to make her and Juniper fraternal twins.
It’s the same thing for the Kailani family. Both Kylen and Lir had sons.
The pregnancy was a good one without complications, so I gave him the Happy Toddler trait.
While Barnaby and Wade are adjusting to their new life as mermen, Sora will have being a merman come naturally to him.
Consequently, only Barnaby, Wade, and Sefina will have human disguises.
Dylan, Zeph, and Sora won’t have much of a need for one or a reason to have one. Their merman attire can easily be written off as typical Sulani Attire because most sims in Sulani spend most, if not all, their time in swimwear because of all the water and water activities. It will be obvious which world they come from. Besides, merfolk don’t need to leave the water, so what’s the point in changing into outfits that wouldn’t be comfortable or functional in the water.
Of course, I almost always create outfits for different scenarios. If Sora goes to University and lives on Campus like his father and uncle, he’ll get a new outfit for his time in that world.
I’ll share screenshots later of Barnabus, Wade, and Sora. Barnaby and Wade grew out their hair a bit.

Absolutely!
Part of why I changed Jade’s Gender was because of the large number of males in the family. Lol.
I may make the fertile trait another guaranteed trait for all my merfolk. Given that so many merfolk have had twins in my game, I’ll consider it a characteristic of all my merfolk. Fish in the ocean have hundreds of babies, so why can’t it be normal for merfolk to have twins and triplets.
I didn’t know that about fraternal twins. That’s good to know.

I learned that the CAS.Fulleditmode remains active until the game gets reset. Basically, the little changes that get made in CAS will get saved if I don’t reset. Things like Weight, Muscle Tone, Hidden Aspiration Traits, and etc will be saved every time I enter CAS as their base elements.
Fun Fact: The time Merfolk spend in the water will eliminate all body fat very quickly.
Another Fun Fact: The Muscle and Fat sliders will slowly revert to their original place over time as long as the cheat CAS.fulleditmode is not active. If you enter CAS with the cheat active, the position of the sliders will not change because their new positions become the new baseline.
