Joey and Paul had another son today, Joe I have only been using the letters in the parents' names when naming children in this save. I had a heck of a time trying to name Joe - he was almost Lyp
I went back one generation! I decided to play out my sims 3 founder sim Carson from an infant to an elder! His parents are dating and risky woohooed. I upped it from 5% chance of pregnancy to 15%. Their first baby will either be Carson or an older brother. Not sure yet.

@Turjan That's great they got to see great-grandchildren! I don't think any of my generations have in this save What lifespan are you playing on?
Great seeing your family tree
I'm playing on a modified epic lifespan. Herb only lived 25 days past the day the clock starts ticking, but Coral is still going strong (she was 20 days younger, but she's at about 55 days after the dice start rolling). I had elders live more than 100 days past that fateful date.
Of course, Coral and Herb were already elders at the start of this town, and they had an adult daughter with two teenaged granddaughters.
@Turjan My lifespan is just a few days longer than the normal lifespan. I added a few days to the child stage because they never have enough time to get the wish to stay on the honor roll for three days if I keep it at normal. My sims haven't lasted long at all in this save even though all are extremely athletic. They have been lucky to get a couple of days over the full life bar
Is that the Joe we voted on?
I have never played on normal, but I can see that it must all be very quick. Coral has those fitness boni, but so did Herb. Maybe, it helps that she still works at the hospital.
On the flip side, my lifespan means you will rarely see updates from me in this thread or the genetics one (which I read and rate all the time). I could probably post some other residents in the genetics thread, if I get to it. Given the whole town is one family tree, it would even be valid here .
@Turjan That is the Joe that won the vote I guess technically Leo got the most votes but I did state in the OP that there was one of the boys that really didn't interest me
I feel like I am constantly updating these days! Of course I am playing way too many hours each day since installing the genetics mod and the shorter lifespan means my family is ever-changing
Please do post other residents in the genetics thread! I am always interested in seeing different genetic mixes
This is just a little branch of the family I´m playing with since 2012.
The initially founders are Freia and Henning Helmquist, the couple on top at the right, but I play with their first born son Haldir (right, under them) and his husband Travis (left, son of Tristan van Gould) the most.
Haldir and Travis Helmquist
In my siggy you can see them sitting in the middle surrounded by their 15 kids who already are parents, grandparents, grandgrandparents... Some of their own family trees are 7 to 8 levels deep, so I really can´t provide the whole family tree.
I play on epic lifespan and most of them are fairies so they live even much longer, the witches and werewolves which I like get the "stop the age" lifetime reward, so in my game there is seldom any death.
Some more information of them if you´re interested
@AlexaKry Thanks for sharing Your family tree is quite impressive and your family looks great!
15 kids is ... WOW ... I can't even imagine it!
I don't think I would have the patience to play such long lives! For me seeing sims living full lives and then dying seems more natural. My sims don't live long but they manage to pack a lot into their days
@Mikezumi : Thank you so much!
I would say we have a completely different playstyle!
I can´t let any of my beloved Sims die, so I´m playing on epic. And The Sims who are about to become elders and which I think I haven´t played enough with (so nearly all of them! ) get the no-aging award so I have more time with them.
Haldir is about to become an adult in a few days in my game now (he is more than 1700 days old) and I´m panicking right now because I can already see him die in the near future!
Every time I see your ghosts in your post I say to myself: no, I can´t let them die, that´s too sad! Even my pets don´t die... not very realistic, but I can´t part with them!
But I really like to see how your families grow and get more and more depth! And I really love their looks! They look much more realistic than mine!
@AlexaKry In the beginning I was devastated when my sims died because I saw it as the end of their life. Now I am much more relaxed about it because I always keep the headstones on the family lot and the ghosts visit most nights and watching them doing things they loved while alive lets me know that I never really lost them
Thank you I do love my sims and I am really loving the new genetics mod which makes the kids more unique than ever
@Mikezumi : No, dying is not allowed in my save!
It always makes me sad seeing deaths in other´s games or in your game! I always think when I see them hunting something that it would be much less heartbreaking if they were still alive.
I´ve heard of the genetics mod and installed it in my game, too. I have someone pregnant, so in a few days I´ll see how it works. (pregnancy is on a pause, I let them suffer a bit longer from it, three days are too fast in my game)
Does it work much more different than Story Progression´s/Master Controller´s genetics?
@AlexaKry It is very different! Instead of inheriting whole features, sims will inherit blends of features. Not just like Advanced Genetics where you might get a shift of a couple of numbers on a slider, but actual blends. You will get a popup with each birth to see what percentage of the parents' features the child gets. It's so exciting seeing the numbers and then watching the child grow up to see exactly what it means
Edit to add: You should look at my Genetics thread. I have posted lots of birth notices with the genetics stats there.
I had my first ever meteor today and it tried to take out my future heir! Joe noticed the sky getting dark and I managed to teleport him and the rest of the family out of the way. A few neighbours (who are distantly related) came to watch and got singed but no-one died fortunately!
My sims will have a big clean up in the morning and all I lost was two easels and the MA equipment.
Opal just aged up to teen. It will be a while yet before the heir, Joe, ages up to teen because the parents had a little break between babies. I was going to stop at 3 kids but Paul was insistent with his wishes
I always keep the headstones of my main household sims on the family lot. I was thrilled when Jason, one of the founders, visited and sang Karaoke because it was something he always did while alive. I believe he's the only member of the family so far to sing autonomously.

Here's a family tree of Coral Oldie from the household I showed before.
She and the now deceased husband Herb got to live to see some of their great-grandchildren.
