Looking Forward To the End Of TS4

It's called scrubbing. FB does this to make you think something is trending when in fact over on Twitter, (facts) 80% of everything trending on Twitter is generated by only 10% of users. People are being controlled by 10% of a population or 'community'.
I'm on Facebook almost all the time and I've never see it that way. Some get upset when TS4 is talked bad about and there's the usual be grateful or shut up and don't play comments that are usually posted there but usually the reactions I always see are mixed. They do lean more towards positive than anything but still noticeably mixed.
Then again they have their algorithms that affect what each person may see so it could just be that. But the post about the rebranding was filled with mixed opinions from what I saw. Some people like it, some people would rather they focus on something else (bug fixes, new packs, TS5), and some people don't like it.
And only 5.8k (minus the ones who may have responded in a bad way) out of the almost 16 million people who say they like it I think holds about as much salt as here and on Twitter because some of the people I know who it says like The Sims have never even played 4, they played a previous Sim game and liked the page for that reason so who knows how many people that could apply to.
Wow didn't know that!
It's why google, FB, Twitter, and now Youtube are echo chambers. You see what you want to see, and not the truth. They show you what they want you to see. That doesn't mean it's reality.

In dreams - I LIVE!
In REALITY, I simply exist.....
I looked at that Facebook page too: The Sims
Those ~16 million followers are NOT all for TS4 - it's for the WHOLE SERIES. Their Facebook page started in ~2012 during TS3's run and had already reached 10 million likes in that year alone. Given that the page currently has
15,865,182 likes right now, most of those likes are for TS3. Although they didn't note when they hit the 10 million mark for followers, the "follow" function was also implemented ~2012 during TS3's run. So we can't say that all of those followers started following for TS4. It's probable that most of the following started back during TS3's run.
I agree, it’s very mixed. People complaining (How dare they??) about bugs, asking about university. Not all sunshine and rainbows no matter how people may want to perceive it.
Yeah, and I do wonder if EA will act upon all of the backlash.
The box art designs for the base game and DLC are one thing. They're ugly as hell, don't get me wrong, but they can be ignored. For me, it's the fact that they're, for the third or fourth time, changing the main menu screen again and implementing this ugly blue/plumbob into the game.
I wouldn't be opposed to a nicer shade of blue and an option for a blue UI in live mode over the minimal white look, but we got neither of course.
Im on this boat!
I literally left twitter minutes ago and I saw a poll from a game changer asking if would you rather have drivable cars or just decorativa as we will have with the debug update? 53% are fine with decorative.
First thig first... this question just seems stupid to begin with it and the feedback? ... Oh dear! Theres some other game changers that have the oposite view but do they have impact? I don't know.
This shouldn't suprised me at this point since this is the community that voted for a laundry pack theme... what more I can say? They just listen the colorful and sweet comments in twitter, facebook and instagram. They have a good solid group of yong people that they can manipulate. The best topics with questions that really matter are always in the foruns and reddit. Always! One they pretend to listen, the other they don't even care.
Honestly I wish I could turn back to the times my biggest issue was "TS3 stopped working". It was less annoying than all of this situation!
As a big fan how do you feel when you see questions like this? Everytime you try to open a normal conversation about a topic but since we are kinda in the negative side you always get a minion responding to you to shut up and tell you TS4 is awsome and everything before is terrible? Do you feel excluded? Because in the last two years I feel more than ever.
In conlusion... They always win!
And it blows my mind when I see game changers with the same age as me going crazy for object recolors making it a big deal. Seriously... we are in 2019 and the biggest thing we can get from TS is something that in past interations wasn't even a thing to think about it.
I honestly think those are rigged or skewed to favor the least amount of work for the devs to do and try to make it look like it's what the consumers want. I don't think any real consumer in their right mind would want all these stupid and vapid items that so-called TS4 simmers want.

Today, all I hear is clutter, clutter, we want clutter. I want action. That's the difference I guess with me and this generation of gamers. Clutter is cute, pretty, needful for a screen shot, I guess, but it's not gameplay. And there were no hints, you didn't know other than word of mouth if selling a cheap painting which I had increased in value over the weeks, would bring you loads of cash when your Sim was literally starving because the player had spent all the money on furniture and decor. lol That was always a suprise. Or that a painting would produce a NPC that would drive you crazy. The Sims was full of hidden things you never knew a vase or poster might be a mistake for adding to the house or a blessing. What does all that clutter do today? Nothing, it lends itself to fake screen shots of the Sim's busy life, not, because they didn't do anything to get it, or find it, or earn it.
I think this team (many were on TS3) are burnt out and really they have mentioned before it's hard to come up with new ideas for this series. I dsagree with them there, but I think burn out shows really evident all over TS4.
Me too!
Even with loading screens I think they would make sense. YA's could get their driver's license, they could get an alarm installed for the car, they could build fun by taking a spin the car like in TS2, they could woohoo in the car, they could travel to other community lots in them etc.
Thanks for that, facts matter to me. So, no, it's not all TS4 followers, but those who built the site up with TS3 likes. It reminds me of likes here, someone might like one sentence someone said but not a whole post, so some may think a person is agreeing with the whole thing, but they may not be, they are just liking one sentence. Telemetry can never get into a person's mind. lol

If you want to be negative that's completely fine, you're entitled to your opinion and to post about it, but it needs to be civil, abiding by the rules and constructive. Keep this thread on track, constructive and respectful or I'm locking it because some of the posts in here were seriously inappropriate.
I liked their page during Sims 3, so did the friends on my page who liked it. I haven't unliked it obviously, but it wasn't Sims 4 that compelled me like it.
I occasionally like comments on their posts, but I have never actually commented myself. Because people are always quick to jump on you. They either feel your comment isn't relevant or that you are being too negative. I'd much rather come in here and talk in thread. It can get bad in here too, but (sometimes with the help of the moderators) it tends to stay pretty chill and we can just express our thoughts.

Exactly.
How hard would it be for them to add this depth to the game?
But, with the way it is going - it would have to be a whole new neighborhood and the "clutter" objects would only be useable in that particular neighborhood...so ridiculous!
I am still finding things to explore in my older versions of the Sims.
Between digging for secret lot maps in Sims 2 and visiting the npcs in the vacation worlds, (applied to ALL neighborhoods!! and all lots!!), all the different activities to do in those worlds, why, i just have to ask why is it so hard for them to program this stuff now?
It would seem like a no-brainer - given they could do it over 15 years ago.
Has it really become that dumbed down?
Those of us who want to support the Sims are paying more for a lot less.
