Alright why is nobody talking about this quote?!?
"Toss ona raincoat to splash in a spring shower and explore the outdoors to earn badges as a scout."tiy
So I guess there's some sort of boy scout-ish activities that your sims can perform and earn badges for! (i'm sure female sims are included as well, just used the term "boy scout" since for some reason irl they're the only scouts that do outdoors-y stuff)
That sounds like it has a lot of potential for interesting opportunities. JUNE 22ND IS TOO FAR AWAY LIKE HOW CAN I PLAY KNOWING THAT I'M MISSING SEASONS?!?1?!

Excuse me - but There always was Girl Scouts and Campfire Girls - as well as Boy Scouts you know. I was in both. We did a lot more than just sell cookies. LOL.

That said - Seasons looks amazing. Sprinklers YESSSSSSS! Swings - YES, YES!!!!

I don't know why but those two things are making me beyond happy. Then I see - gift giving, roller skating - ICE skating. I'm swooning here..... Can't look any more.... OMG - kiddie pools...... ,,,,,,,........ FAINTs!!!!

Boy Scouts in the US are now allowing girls as well on a limited basis. But yes, I was a Brownie for 2 years and Girl Scout for 3, and we had our badges too including lots of outdoor activities. Maybe the badges are a collection solely for children? That would be really cool. A lot of people were upset that you couldn't send clubs to Granite Falls -- maybe they were able to patch in a fix for that?

YEP - I know - they also changed Camp Fire Girls and allow Boys in there - so they now call that Camp Fire kids.

I was also a Brownie and a Girl scout - up until I got my first job at 14 and no longer had time for scouting. I got to re-enjoy scouting through my three sons - all were scouts. I volunteered when I could as a Den Mother. So it will be fun to see at least a bit of scouting in the Sims. I can't imagine it will go into much depth - but just having it for kids will be fun. I may finally break down and have a club in my game for scouting anyway. I am not the club type of player and have never used them - so yeah - I may if scouting is a club activity.

I think the meeting time for Cadettes (junior high) conflicted with youth group at church -- and at church we got a free meal so that won out. :D

this is so great! and finally some good news since JA

    good things
    - finally winter, snow and rain; gloomy and cold days yay! Immersion +_+
    - autumn trees are actually red - nice;
    - ice skating and costumes - this is so cool and I honestly didn't expect that to be included in EP;
    - sims can finally clear snow with shovel - yes!
    - machine to manipulate weather - YES!!
    - nice coat on sim with white beard - he looks like Ded Moroz in this outfit
    - at the end sim shooting lightning with his hands - if only this "ability" can stick like trait
    - dark green icon - i like it
and I am glad this is an EP and not GP which means GP team can be busy with something supernatural >:) (only my opinion)

    and less positive

    - snowfall looks too bright? Like it's still sunny every day? Raining seems to be fine, chilling, dark and gloomy
    - almost everything already was in previous games? I mean animations
    - ice skating animation is slow for some reason?
    - not so much clothes and hair styles? Things are probably saved for another SP :|
    - so no new town and swimming in sea, okay I am totally fine with that

Sorry for my English, I am so happy right now so please forgive me :p

Your English is better than some teenagers I know. :)

Maybe it just happened to be a sunny day when everyone was out playing -- if it's cloudy then it might be colder keeping Sims inside.

Sometimes it makes sense to reuse animations -- that way you have the coding already done and can work on some really new stuff.

I think they were just slowing down the ice skating for artistic effect, like you had the skater imagining being on the ice in the Winter Olympics or World Championships -- then comes down to earth as the roller skater landing on her backside.

Maybe they're holding back a lot of the CAS for a surprise.

I'd already heard rumors of no new town -- and we didn't get a new world with Sims 3 Seasons either. I think it could cause issues with existing saves if they added ocean swimming now, so if we do get it probably it'll be in a specific location like a beach resort vacation or something. I just figure the water's too cold in Windenburg or Brindleton Bay to swim, and in the rest of the worlds you've got dangerous riptides that could drag Sims away, or maybe sharks with laser beams on their heads... B)

But why is the snow so flat? Am I the only one who thinks that it looks like that snow mod?

Do you have ANY idea how much actual 3D snow would tax your system?

    Sims 2 snow had depth.

Dude, Sims 2 had snow period. Start pausing the trailer in Winter and look at any object you can find outdoors. None of the furniture items have snow buildup on them. The only exception is a wooden reindeer which might just be a reskin of that object.

The "snow" in this game appears to be a reskin for the grass and the surfaces of traditional buildmode objects.

    Yeah :/ I'm disappointed.

Maybe the Sims brushed off the snow (new animation)? And how would you build snowmen and make snow angels if it's just a grass reskin? It looked like there were actual holes in the snow where they dug out snow to make the snowman.

"Gardening Career: Begin a blossoming gardening career and become a botanist or floral arranger"

    Yaaaay

I just hope it's either an active or semi-active career -- if a Sim has to spend all day at work, then come home and work on his/her garden that's not going to leave much time for other stuff.

We’ve got seasons—so Awesome. Can’t wait for this to come out. Makes the gameplay more enjoyable. Swings, kiddie pool, skating, playfulness, new CAS items, the bee keeper, and so much more—cool. First saw the trailer on The Sim Supply-James is so funny. Thanks.

I also notice that once again all swimsuits are mom-swimsuits from the 1950s. There is not a single sexy bikini or swimsuit in the game (for women. Men get a banana hammock for some reason).

Um, there are. I hope you don’t expect Sims to have French cuts because that is not their style.

No there aren't. Swimsuits do not become "sexy" just because they're swimsuits.
Edit: It gets even more confusing since we have three sets of lingerie for women that are seriously meant to look sexy (the actual corset panties set, the sheer see-through lace panties and bra, and bra and panties set with the heart shaped front. All three of these are downright raunchy compared to the swimwear.

I have no idea what "french cut" is, and after googling it I am even more confused since 99% of the pictures showing "french cut swimsuit" basically shows the ones we have in the game or maybe cut about half an inch higher. And then the last 1% basically shows pornstar style swimsuits...

Admittedly that 1% is actually closer to what I want. Now this might be because of age; I was born in 1972, which means I grew up in the 80s and 90s... but to me, any swimsuit cut so that it covers the hip bone is grandma swimsuits, because only women over 55 were using those when I grew up.

This was about the normal cut on bikinis and swimsuit that all females between 13 and 53 were wearing (no strings or thongs, but higher cut). Now it's not a dealbreaker or anything, and i guess I can download CC (though I have never downloaded any kind of CC for this game except MCCC, becuase CC forced me to reinstall and / or throw away saves both in Sims 2 and 3).

I logged in and literally said: WHAAAAAAAAA!! Haha. This looks pretty good and it's not too far away either.

I'm wondering if we'll get the Sims Weather Forecast like we did from the other games or have the different season added to the UI where we can see when winter is coming or how much time fall gas left. Maybe we can control how long we want them to last like the last season did.

    Def looking forward to this.

Has anybody noticed in the description under Key Features, it says "From hot and sunny to blustery and snowy, every world’s climate is unique and impacts your Sims’ choices, relationships and daily activities. "

Emphasise on the "every world's climate is unique" does this indicate that each world will be a different season? Not all seasons in one world.

haha I'm so excited!! I know there are some people dissapointed at the depth of the snow but I loveee the way it looks in the trailer. Sorry but when I played sims 3 my kittens, puppies and newspapers got lost.... I don't know if anyone remembers but sims would set there babies down in the snow.

Although I'm sure this will be an amazing addition to the base game, I still observe, from the trailer, certain issues that I do not believe were intended but should still be discussed.
In the trailer, we are able to see families enjoying Christmas, New Years, Thanksgiving, and Easter. I do understand that these are some of the most well-known holidays globally, but they are not what ALL households would consider "the norm". In my opinion, this upcoming expansion pack is culturally lacking.
I'm personally from a Chinese background, and I can say that I do not celebrate any of those holidays. Instead, I celebrate festivals such as Lunar New Year, the Mid-Autumn Festival, and the Qingming Festival. Other holidays that are widely celebrated by several people are Ramadan, Eid, Diwali, Chuseok, and Cinco de Mayo.
The holidays shown within the video were very Eurocentric and target Western culture.
I am not suggesting to overload the game with all the holidays that exist, but having some diversity would definitely make the gameplay more interesting. I fully understand that with the release date so near, it is practically impossible to piece together something of quality, but I really do hope the team puts some consideration into this.

I read something about creating your own holidays ingame.
No clue how that works. The most compelling theory says it re-uses the club system from get together.
Enough Diversity for you, or do you still want Ramadan and Divali be in there by default? If it works how I currently imagine it, you may replace the holidays with all Chinese ones. (Depending on what those are about and what is possible in the game of course. I have no Idea about Chinese culture, to be honest.

Maybe what's sexy to you is not sexy to others and viceversa. I personally think that the new swimsuit showed in the trailer can be super sexy and flattering.
And I think for what I assume you mean when you say "sexy", there are a couple already in game.
I'm on my phone at the moment but as soon as I get to work I'll post pictures of the ones I mean.

what does it mean CREATE YOUR OWN HOLIDAYS? how?
and what's the deal with the lightning-man in the end? he as super powers? WHATS GOING ON I NEED MORE INFO PRONTO

My guess is it'll work similar to the club system from GT:
    1. Pick date (E.G. 4th day of Winter)
    2. Pick traditional must-dos (Decorate Tree, Give Gifts)
    3. Pick extra suggested activities (Ice skate, Build a snowman)
    4. Pick a location (Home)
    5. Name it and write a short description (Similar to clubs)
    6. Holiday gets added to a calendar or something (maybe a seasonal UI similar to the club one)
    7. You get a reminder the day before and an annoucement/greeting on the day (Happy Winterfest! Don't forget to give those gifts you spent no time wrapping!)
    8. Enjoy the holiday!

I might actually get around to making those fake religions and secular groups now that I can make custom holidays for each one!

Huh. This could actually be really versatile. If we can pick a date and time this would outshine our current party system. I'd love to plan a date and time for birthdays for example and have everyone in the special group (invitees) show up bearing gifts. (The same could be done manually of course but some automation would be really nice.)

My hope is that the Seasons patch will add this functionality to our current system. I'm 90% sure that this is the case; keeping my fingers crossed.

I'm so incredibly excited and so incredibly sad all at the same time. The rule we have set in our house (so the kids know not to expect expensive games or xpacs as 'just because' gifts, and so that we have the ability to get gifts for each other) is that new xpacs are given at holidays and birthdays. So since my birthday is at the end of November, and Mother's Day in the US was just last week, I can't pick this up!:cry::cry:

I'll wait, but it's going to be so hard! Like seriously!

Don't know if this was asked about before (17 pages is a lot to go through) but what could this mean?! How will climate change our Sim's relationships? :O

Probably means that changing seasons will impact social activities. Gift giving, holiday parties, spending time with that special someone on love day... Just a few examples.
