@Shannon4J thanks~ we are having a blast! We went to the zoo today and my poor husband had to push me around in a wheelchair, so his admission was free... but he definitely earned it, since he pushed me all over the park for 2 hours; up and downhill, got me stuck in a dirt path...
Unfortunately, being out all day meant that I missed Atomic Age and will have to wait until next rotation if I want it free; but it was worth it. I only get to see my family once a year, so spending time with them took precedence.
I can always grab Atomic Age for 80 SP at 816, which kinda throws a wrench in my carefully-curated plans, so will have to do the math again and see what I can spare. But maybe I'll be back at work by then, so who knows?
My parents are heading home tomorrow, and I have physio at 2 pm. But I don't have any sets coming up in that timeframe, so all's well.

I've been thinking that they have removed the ads since none of them are paying as well. Hopefully the "complimentary" sp indicates that EA is actually on some level trying to solve this issue as I doubt they would hand them out if they had no plans whatsoever on fixing this whole ordeal. I personally like that they seem to have removed the ads for now; makes EA seem a bit less like money-grubbing jerks.

I wonder If I've purchased something recently and forgotten to log it to my "wallet" in my spreadsheet. Anyway, still no blue box, but a decent number of missing points restored. It's almost brought my deficit round that occurred when I decided (have I really?) to join the "Own the Store" club. That decision is most definitely contingent on the ads returning. I have everything I truly want, including some MMAO exclusives, so I have no plans to use real dollars to finish the job.
But I do feel bold enough to create a wish list again. Just in case anyone who owns the store still has some points banked that they are looking to share. Loud, Fast, Clash - Attire is the only set I do not own and I am working on that now. There are a couple pieces on the rotation I've got coming up, but I will still need several pieces that are not in order to make it happen. So, just putting that out there. It's uncertain just how many points I'll need for CYS because it is also on sale, which mucks up the CYS calculations.

did the math again and realized i had a few sp to spare. so i tried my luck with the mmao machine and bought an offer that contained an item from atomic age. that means the set will only be 5 sp at dd 816 (which is great, since i really didn't want to wait a whole other rotation).
the discount wasn't as high as i would've liked. but it also gave me an item from the jazz age set i'm working on, as well as 2 items that dropped my cys for mid-century modern dining & style, making it only 77 sp at dd 381.
no points for me, but i'm glad to hear that others are getting them. i might just buy a small sp bundle and get a bigger one when i go back to work (if the ads still aren't fixed by then).

Hope everyone is fine and my northern hemisphere compatriots are enjoying the summer weather (here, in the UK, it seems to be week on, week off, week on, week off when it comes to rain or sunshine! ) Likewise I trust that those in the southern hemisphere are keeping cosy and dry.
Never kept track of how many SPs I was owed by the broken ads but like most everyone I got a good number delivered a few days ago coincident with the total disappearance of the ads themselves.
This sort of sponsorship arrangement is surely quite simple and very common (practically every website you go to these days is covered in ads all delivering micro-payments to whoever is running the page. Unfortunately it has been a very long time since the Sims 3 Store operated properly (I've always thought they had a trainee design it, never documented it, and when they left there was no one who actually understood how it worked!) So my guess is that EA has no idea what to do and we may well have seen the last of these ads, which will be a great shame.
So glad to hear that you've got your 'lost' packs back @Shannon4J - just so annoying that you had to buy them again (though, eternal gratitude to Steam, eh? ) and that you had to suffer the ignorant attitude of the EA "legal" numpties!
I'm reminded that EA 'won' the Worst Company in America two years in a row, 2012 and 2013 (Comcast was the last award winner in 2014) mostly due to their appalling customer service - apparently they have made great efforts to improve since then. You live chat experience might bear that out but it seems some departments are still working to 2013 standards!
I'd saved each child as they moved out of their house and intend to play them in future games from that point as I add various EPs back into my system. Each was "groomed" for a particular pack with specific traits and skills. I think traditionally a legacy family is played continually without back-stepping, and I may choose one child to do that with. But with five kids that would be leaving the EA continuity in charge of way too much and involve too much switching of active households. The game file would get out of control. Or I may create a master save of the game at this point and when I want to start a new game with a different kid go back to this point and just play that household with the parents and siblings on the periphery.
I dunno. I'm just impressed that I've gotten this far with a single family. And I think that it is largely due to the fact that my system doesn't continuously crash and make me start from the beginning. In the past that would usually make me just start a new game rather than replay the same character in the same story line.

Your idea of keeping specific save games from which to jump in to parallel stories sounds great, and a whole lot safer!
I know when I started my legacy game even though I only had three or four EPs back then the save game files got so large (I think >4Gb at one point!!) it became impossible to continue. I suspect most of that was down to making several visits to the World Adventures worlds, each adding their own content and history to the save. That was before I learnt about the need to use NRAAS mods to keep the EA code under control!

Unfortunately, being out all day meant that I missed Atomic Age and will have to wait until next rotation if I want it free; but it was worth it. I only get to see my family once a year, so spending time with them took precedence.
I can always grab Atomic Age for 80 SP at 816, which kinda throws a wrench in my carefully-curated plans, so will have to do the math again and see what I can spare. But maybe I'll be back at work by then, so who knows?

I've been thinking that they have removed the ads since none of them are paying as well. Hopefully the "complimentary" sp indicates that EA is actually on some level trying to solve this issue as I doubt they would hand them out if they had no plans whatsoever on fixing this whole ordeal. I personally like that they seem to have removed the ads for now; makes EA seem a bit less like money-grubbing jerks.
But I do feel bold enough to create a wish list again. Just in case anyone who owns the store still has some points banked that they are looking to share. Loud, Fast, Clash - Attire is the only set I do not own and I am working on that now. There are a couple pieces on the rotation I've got coming up, but I will still need several pieces that are not in order to make it happen. So, just putting that out there.

did the math again and realized i had a few sp to spare. so i tried my luck with the mmao machine and bought an offer that contained an item from atomic age. that means the set will only be 5 sp at dd 816 (which is great, since i really didn't want to wait a whole other rotation).
the discount wasn't as high as i would've liked. but it also gave me an item from the jazz age set i'm working on, as well as 2 items that dropped my cys for mid-century modern dining & style, making it only 77 sp at dd 381.
no points for me, but i'm glad to hear that others are getting them. i might just buy a small sp bundle and get a bigger one when i go back to work (if the ads still aren't fixed by then).
Nope, I am truly innocent of any wish list raids in the last 6 months. The ads have not been in my favor since the end of last year. Other than that one week about a month ago. That only served to raise my hopes so they could be dashed against the dirty snow shores of Aurora Skies.

Hope everyone is fine and my northern hemisphere compatriots are enjoying the summer weather (here, in the UK, it seems to be week on, week off, week on, week off when it comes to rain or sunshine!
Never kept track of how many SPs I was owed by the broken ads but like most everyone I got a good number delivered a few days ago coincident with the total disappearance of the ads themselves.
This sort of sponsorship arrangement is surely quite simple and very common (practically every website you go to these days is covered in ads all delivering micro-payments to whoever is running the page. Unfortunately it has been a very long time since the Sims 3 Store operated properly (I've always thought they had a trainee design it, never documented it, and when they left there was no one who actually understood how it worked!) So my guess is that EA has no idea what to do and we may well have seen the last of these ads, which will be a great shame.
So glad to hear that you've got your 'lost' packs back @Shannon4J - just so annoying that you had to buy them again (though, eternal gratitude to Steam, eh?
I'm reminded that EA 'won' the Worst Company in America two years in a row, 2012 and 2013 (Comcast was the last award winner in 2014) mostly due to their appalling customer service - apparently they have made great efforts to improve since then. You live chat experience might bear that out but it seems some departments are still working to 2013 standards!

Your idea of keeping specific save games from which to jump in to parallel stories sounds great, and a whole lot safer!
I know when I started my legacy game even though I only had three or four EPs back then the save game files got so large (I think >4Gb at one point!!) it became impossible to continue. I suspect most of that was down to making several visits to the World Adventures worlds, each adding their own content and history to the save. That was before I learnt about the need to use NRAAS mods to keep the EA code under control!
