If I quote someone it just has loads of arrows and doesn't turn their name blue so they get notified that I've replied.

@ThatPlumbobRob - Have you tried to quote and use the "@" since you earned member status? The quote function doesn't work for new members.

2. How can I start a thread?
3. Is it allowed to write your sim story in activity?

I have read all the new member rules and the forum tutorial here. Please, I would like for a little help. :)

New members are unable to start new threads until they become full members. You need to have 25points and 15 posts before you can become a full member and can then have an Avi picture, post pictures, have a signature, start new threads, edit posts , post links that show up correctly and have quotes appear in grey boxes . This thread explains about it.

You receive a point each time another simmer presses like or awesome or insightful on a post that you have posted in a thread created by another simmer.
You will be able to start a new thread when you become a full member.

It would be best to start a new thread in the Sims 3 or Sims 4 Stories and Challenges section

There will be more simmers reading it there. The activities section is more for short posts, and messages to fellow simmers.

You may need to be in touch with either Ea_Mai or EA_Rtas on their activities wall about changing your email address. You can ask them to send you a pm.

If you would like to change your forums username, you can post a request to change the name on the activities wall of either EA_Mai or EA_Rtas

EDIT: Wow, sorry, nevermind. I finally found them after seeing the teeny-tiny, hidden "Preferences" drop-down after clicking an icon out of curiosity. That is quite hidden, and its placement was not made clear in the OP.

Hi! I'm just going to introduce myself everywhere. Thanks for the points breakdown btw. I've been a Sims player since the original came out. Now that I have an awesome boyfriend who likes gaming as much as me I get to put more time into Sims. I have always been a builder and have been participating in challenges like Roseymow's for a few weeks and am looking to expand and get more followers and find more challenges

Hmm, forum quirk or maybe my browser? If I hit "Like" or "Awesome" for a post, it increases the count there, however, this is no indication that I have liked or awesomed a post. If I come back to the thread later and can't remember that I've already hit Like or Awesome, it will take the point away when I hit it again. Sort of annoying, but I have to be careful to not unlike when I don't mean to, lol.

It isn’t just your browser. This occurs with all simmers. It is a part of how the forums have been set up.

Why am I unable to post pictures? I uploaded the image to an image hosting site (imgbb), the file ends in .png, I used the correct bbcode (there was an auto bbcode generation option available) but the image shows up as a little grey 'image not showing' symbol. I also tried to add the URL using the post image button, and it wouldn't even accept it as a URL.

I think I've figured the picture issue out, Imgur seems to be working in lieu of ImgBB.

@carpe_diem, Once you become a for member, you can use the bold because right now it won't work. But I'll go and explain how to use it so that you can have for future reference. You just need to use the brackets along with the b in the middle for the beginning and the brackets with the forward slash as well as the b. Here is an example of what I'm talking about except you won't be spacing the brackets from the forward slash and the B's:

With spaces just to show you how it's done:
[ b ] what ever words you want in between [ /b ] but without

And without spaces to show you how it would look like:
what ever words you want in between

And don't worry if again if yours doesn't look like that in the beginning as you are still considered a new member and these functions don't work properly until you become a full member. You just need 25 points, 15 posts and an account older than 24 hours old to be a full member. Once you hit full member status, you can change your profile picture start new threads, share your pictures and links to sites as well have full use of these functions such as the quoting system as well...
