  • @EA_Cade , here is the link to the thread I nominated earlier. Mac User's Best Friend Guide. We still point people here. https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/748338/a-mac-users-best-friend-please-read-before-posting-any-new-problem-threads
  • @EA_Cade please transfer over Mac User’s Best Friend from the Mac Help forums. Many people still use those guides. Will get you the link shortly
  • EA ended the free giveaway of Sims 2 UC in October 2018 at which time they also announced that the game would no longer receive patch support and would be removed for sale from Origin. This was announced on AHQ, not sure if it was posted here. I think if you had registered any or all of your Sims 2 games through Origin,…
  • Apple is ending 32 bit support for its OS this coming Fall. Most games today are 64 bit. Also, I think you can get a free upgrade to 64 bit Windows. You'll need to check the Microsoft Website though.
  • As technology advances, so do new ways of storing data. I'm afraid that many computers these days do not come with CD/DVD drives. Mine didn't, but I was able to buy an external CD drive. I still have my Sims 1 and Sims 2 CDs, but sadly neither one will ever install on my computer due to changes in the Operating System that…
  • Was at a friends' house waiting to play table top D&D and they were playing The Sims (original version in 2000). I fell in love had to have it once it was ported to the Mac OS by Aspyr (yay Aspyr!). Have the full run of TS1, but currently can't play it as it cannot install on my newer computer. Won't get rid of the disks…
  • I think the main problem with Sims 4 (at least the Base Game) was that half way through the project word came from "on High" that the direction of the game had to change (i.e. changing from an online format to "stand alone" game). It takes several years of not only programming, but planning as well to execute a video game.…
  • I think that many of the "limitations" of Sims 4 stem from the fact that it was meant to be an online game originally and the game engine designers thought that we the players would react and act to the other player sims in regards to relationships. When that didn't happen, they had to come up with something and it really…
  • There are somethings I think that Sims 4 has done very well. CAS for example (minus the CASt Sims 3 has), some of the parental interactions, some of the decorating tools. I like the game, but don't play it nearly as often as I do Sims 3 (trying to get Sims 2 UC to work properly), but I do play Sims 2 SC with no problems.
  • @Triplis, been playing Skyrim on PS4 lately and Betheda fixed Lydia so that she says more of her lines than just "I am sworn to carry your burdens". I think that was a bug in the original releases. Haven't replayed the game on PS3, but computer version and PS4 version she doesn't say it as much. Just thought I'd mention…
  • There is some "violence" inherent in the The Sims Series. Look at how Brandy Broke's husband died in Sims 2. Or Sims can die by fire or freezing, etc. However, the animations that follow aren't all blood and guts and gore. If they were, certainly Sims 2 would have been rated "M" for Mature. While "WooHoo" for teens (Sims…
  • While interesting ideas, you have to remember the game is rated "T" for Teen in the US. (Not sure of the ratings for other countries). Like movie ratings (G, PG, PG13, etc.), there are certain restrictions on the game. While self care is a great idea, "personal woo-hoo" is not.
  • While "everyone" may not use certain features that came in Sims 3, a fair number of players did and do. I loved that you could use Sim City 4 to create new worlds for Sims 2. I never did, but I did download a copy of "worlds" that were fun to play. I do miss the ability to allow the players to create new worlds for the…
  • I don't play Sims 4 as much as Sims 3, but I do play it. It is much more fun than when it first came out and they have done some amazing things with the game. I do agree that they did take some steps backwards. Get Famous has held my attention much more recently, but I've been playing another game a lot lately.
  • The Sims Series isn't the only game EA has published over the past few years. ALL of the other games EA supports (FIFA, Battlefield, Dragon Age to name a few) post their bugs/glitches at AHQ. The Sims was probably one of the few communities still posting bug reports on their Official Forums. EA made the decision (like it…

  • @JoAnne65 People are so used to posting here. If anyone has suggestions on how to make AHQ more user friendly, please, please post over there and give your ideas. EA wants to help, but can't if they don't know there is a problem.
  • @Noree_Doree if you visit AHQ to report your bug, do you click the "Me Too" button? Next time, do that and perhaps add a comment as well to the bug report. While some of the bugs may have "been around awhile", EA/Maxis needs information as to why and what may be causing the bug. It could be something in your graphics…
  • Most game companies have a schedule of DLC (that includes EPs/SPs/GPs) they are working on. EPs take much longer than GPs because of the extra coding involved and I would guess take about 2 years from start to finish. GPs are for the most part new textures/skins on existing object animations like chairs or clothes for…
  • @TURBODRIVER Can you please copy and paste this post over at AHQ? Here is the link below: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/bd-p/The-Sims-4-Bugs
  • Still, you need to make them aware of the issue. You said it yourself in that Maxis may not have taken that fact into account and they should be aware of it to fix it.
  • I'd like to remind folks that here in the US this coming Thursday is Thanksgiving so that means a three day work week for most companies. On the subject of AHQ, all games published by EA are supported there, not just the Sims. Some issues like for instance a refund or problems with an Origin account must be dealt with by…
  • I have seen people who create mods to fix a specific issue. If you all are tech savvy enough to do this and correct something that EA may have missed, why not share your information with them on AHQ? I think you can PM folks there and share your information. It would go a long way to helping all players.
  • Would you please report this bug on AHQ if you have not done so already? Thank you. :)
  • My husband plays Destiny 2. I like how they have "seasonal" challenges. Each "season" (three months long, 4 times a year), has different goals and challenges. It would be fun to see if we could have something similar (like say the "Day of the Dead" challenge in November, "Egg Hunt" around March, April, or "Planter…
  • Ok, so now that everyone is agreed we'd like more supernatural sims back. What would like to see done with them? For example, what did you like most about witches from the previous versions? What did you like least? Which creatures could have used more to do?
  • Like Toddlers, Supernaturals take time to properly add to the code. I'm sure they started with Aliens and Vampires as "test subjects" if you will to see how others could be added. I would like to see another "Supernatural" EP like Sims 3 with some fleshed out interactions for Aliens and Vampires (like Parenthood for…
  • Sometimes the "real thing" doesn't translate well on screen. So special effects are employed to make it as close to the real thing as possible.
  • If we were going to participate in a "Live Stream", there should be a place where we could post questions in advance. Basically, it would be a way to compile similar questions so that 100 people aren't asking the same thing 100 times. I've seen this happen on other "Live Streams" about other games.
