  • In regards to bug fixes and glitches, please, please, please report them on AHQ. If EA/Maxis does not know about it, have saved games to recreate the issues with, or know newer computer specs, there will not be any fixes. The Devs do look in on the forums, but more to see what ideas people have and not what needs to be…
  • While the Devs may not directly interact with us here on the forums, they do keep tabs on "hot topics" or items that we have discussions about. While Twitter may be the "official" whatever (sorry never using Twitter), as @Writin_Reg has said this format allows for more detailed discussions and ideas.
  • Your videos are exactly what the Devs need to see and the simple solution that @83bienchen found as well. This is the kind of information that EA/Maxis needs to fix issues in the game.
  • @Mendota, In regards to what kind of computer to buy to play Sims or any "gaming computer", your best bet is to look for similar threads in the old Help Section and PM the folks who answered or seemed to give the best advice. @chesterbigbird is one of the most knowledgeable people I know for Windows Machines and they are…
  • Also there are additional issues EA/Maxis is aware of and is working to properly identify and fix. University Life has been a headache for some folks to download and this issue is also being researched. No word yet, but if you go to AHQ, you can keep tabs on any solutions there.
  • I always recommend that you always have a backup copy of your game on either an external hard drive or a USB thumb drive. We had a problem on the Mac OS where peoples saves would "disappear" or be transferred to the Cloud when they updated either the game or Origin. And if you keep having repeat bugs, keep reporting it to…
  • @NorthDakotaGamer and @rjssim have you reported your bugs in the Bug report thread over at AHQ? If you haven't, then you need to and provide your computer specs and perhaps even a saved game or two that exhibit the bugs/glitches you are complaining about. Until EA/Maxis can replicate your problems, it won't get fixed. Also…
  • @Writin_Reg , I too have very little to no problems with the game itself (other than some personal feelings) and it runs fine on my computer. I do agree that there are features I miss from Sims 2 and 3, but I try to play Sims 4 with an open mind when I do play it. I own everything released so far. Most of the "problems,…
  • For any of you wondering and have Sims 3 working on High Sierra, Sims 3 runs fine on Mojave. I have just upgraded and tested it and it runs fine.
  • You should be able to. You can check on the Mac App Store to see if there are any specs posted for the game. Be aware that this is not a full run of the Sims 2, but everything that was ported to the Mac. Which is everything up to and including Bon Voyage. Aspyr is in the process of updating the game to run on Mojave (at…
  • Sounds like a wonderful idea. I know the idea of having not only the music inspired theme is interesting, but the idea of having a Japanese theme is really cool too. I know several creators on other Sims related websites have made some amazing CC and builds from just the EA/Maxis items.
  • I can see both sides. I agree that polls should be apart of forum discussions, however, if there are always "repeating" polls for example "What Bugs should be fixed immediately?" and "What do you think the monthly patch will bring?", why not create a separate place for them as well. Just my $0.02 worth. :)
  • You may have to report this on Answer HQ. Starting tomorrow, all help will be administered there. The link is in the stickies at the top of this forum.
  • First of all, try moving the entire Sims 4 folder to the Desktop. DO NOT DELETE IT! Start the game up knowing that none of your CC/Mods or saved games will be available. Create a new sim and play for about an hour to make sure that the game itself is working. You can add you CC and Mods back to the game, however you need…
  • @Kristen3333, can you give some more details? Like what Mac OS version are you running? Have you tried moving the entire Sims 4 folder to your Desktop, starting the game and playing? Your saved household will not be in the game at this time, but we do want to insure that everything else is fine short of the saved…
  • A reminder to everyone that next Monday, all help will be rendered through Answer HQ on the EA forums. If you have not done so, please create an account there to have your questions answered. If there are any "open" threads here that I or someone else has not answered you, I will do my best to make them aware of the issue…
  • While I admit I couldn't play Sims 3 without NRAAS's mods, I find that I can play Sims 4 fine without them. However, many of the problems that I find people reporting are due to outdated Mods. I'm not blaming the Modding community for these because they don't have "early access" to new EPs/GPs/SPs before release. As I have…
  • @wheatpenguin and @MayaArmani, did you follow the steps in the first post? If you have and you are still having problems, have you checked the sites you downloaded the CC/Mods from? In regards to MCCC, your best bet is to contact the MTS forums as the creator/caretaker of the Mod usually check in there. Afraid I don't use…
  • Ok, try this (if you have already try it one more time for me). 1) Move your Sims 4 folder to your Desktop. DO NOT DELETE IT! 2) Start up your Sims 4 game remembering that none of your saved games will be available at this time. 3) Create a new Sim and play for about an hour to see if anything else is happening with your…
  • First of all, is the "Enable Mods/CC" option checked in your Sims 4 game settings. I know it's under the Options setting in your Game Preferences. It's in the "Other" section. Next, have you "unzipped" your CC/Mods? All CC/Mods should end in the ".package" extension. You will need a program to "uncompress" these files. I…
  • Laptop mode is actually there to help laptops (which aren't as powerful as Desktop computers) to run more smoothly and does cause certain elements to become inactive due to the strain they put on the laptop's processor. Not sure if there is anyway to change this as I don't play on a laptop. You can always check in the…
  • Please try the following: 1) Move your Sims 4 folder to your Desktop. DO NOT DELETE IT! This is where all your saved games/CC/Mods are currently. Move the entire folder not just your Mods folder. 2) Start up Origin. Make sure the Automatic Updates is off and see if it will allow you to update Origin first. If it does, then…
  • It should. Just remember the more CC and Mods you add, the slower your game will run.
  • @Alexai, have you tried to move your Sims 4 folder, start the game up and then try playing for about an hour or so and then moving your CC back into the game?
  • @Alexai and @Gyongy501, are you able to see all your games/official content for the Sims 4 in Origin? Just checking for another bug reported. If you are and you are able to start the game, have you tried the following: 1) Checking to make sure the Enable Mods/CC button was clicked under game options. 2) Moving your game…
  • I'll be honest. I don't know. Best place for a quick answer to that is MTS. They have a great deal of knowledge and quick answers to questions. BTW, please remember that the Mac Help Section is moving this month. Below is the direct link to all Sim Games on the Mac. https://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-Mac/bd-p/The-Sims-Mac
  • It's a known issue with some users and has been reported on the EA forums (where the Help Section is moving to shortly). You might want to pop over there and see what the latest status is and report any additional data to them as well. Here is the link to the Mac Help section.…
