  • My computer prefers small worlds all the way  I like to play the medium or large ones though. I always end up with additional lots and houses for more Sims to live in, so over the time the population of the world reaches 200 residents and I have learned that I can't exceed that number. I have only EA worlds and I…
  • I do, I have a few families that I usually place in every new game I start. I like to have them around and befriend them by the members of my household. I'm also curiuous to see what the story progression has for them. And sometimes I have the grown up children of my Sims marry theirs.
  • Both Sims I play with keep getting whims to marry their wives. It's another thing that isn't big deal but it gets annoying. Is it really too tricky for the game to keep in mind that they are already married? Or do they have a hidden absent minded trait? At least the gender of the spouses is right.
  • Unfortunately the traits don't have that much of an impact on the game, even the moods seem to have more of it. I play the same couple of my Sims as I did in all previous games, one is realy outgoing and cheerfull person and the other one is an artistic loner. But their traits don't really make a difference here, they both…
  • That happened to me as well. The solution to the isssue was to log out from my account and play the game while not being logged on.
  • I created a new family - musician and his wife. My old PC had a hard time running the game (I'm not even sure if it met the requirements), I managed to get only through few sim days in a whole evening because of the lags. I also had to stop the game anytime I moved my camera on a different lot and wait for the objects to…
  • The thing about TS3 is that it was a quite ambitious project with many interesting features and ideas. The devs didn't manage to pull all of them off in a satisfactory manner, but the NRAAS mods managed to fix most of them and actually developed the game a lot further. The open world, CASt, story progression and all the…
  • I fear don't know of a way to restore your save files (if there is one) but I highly recommend you to 'save as' very often to prevent the loss of large amount of your progress when something like this happens. I save the game every night, when I build a larger house, I save at least once before I finish it. Game breaking…
  • Gnomes are indeed cute. But when there are too many of them at the lot, things may get complicated a bit. Every night the TV and all stereos are turned on, fridges and other home appliances are blocked by them. Sometimes your Sim can't even walk out of their bedroom! But of course I like them and I would never sell them.
  • K.I.T.T. :-) Preferably the Trans Am, that one was prettier than the Mustang. No more of these "where did I put my keys" situations.
  • I also have a game I still play after a year or so. From the in game statistics of my former Sims I looked at some time back I know that they've been together for more than 800 Sim days, which should be a bit over 100 Sim weeks. It certainly is possible to play one family that long, you just need a goal or something else…
  • I can only speak for myself but I've never encountered that issue (then again I bought World Adventures in 2011). My Sims were occasionally running into trouble when reaching/departing the worlds until I got sorted that out with a mods and I haven't noticed any major glitches since that.
  • I personally think that the most hilarious was when the burglar took a piano, packed it into something that resembled of a trash can bag and ran away. Because, of course, if I were to rob a house at night with the intention not to wake up anyone I'd definitely go after the heaviest thing around.
  • Thanks for the clarification. My Sims must have been really unlucky then, they had to fulfill a load of quests before this one came up. It's an axe that one of your Sims can obtain in a quest and carry in their inventory. It comes handy in tombs and other places where you need to clear large boulders - there is no way how…
  • Old? Well TS3 is still one of the latest PC games I play. I have its CDs next to games like Age of Empires II. or Transport Tycoon and I still play and enjoy these as well :-)
  • I was never really interested in making my Sims bad but the burglars were one of the most hilarious and funniest aspects of the Sims games. The way they were animated back in TS1.. oh old good days :-D
  • And here I am being absolutely uninterested into dating and boys until one got a crush on me. I was 17 back then. Everyone is individual, I guess :-) What I remember from my early school days is that even those 'child crushes' were actually more a of an imitation of adults lifestyle or a playing. I don't imply that no one…
  • Those are my words exactly. When I got the ultimate collection I played the game again after a pause that lasted since 2010 and I found out that I'm not really enjoying it anymore. I definitely gave up after my first generation aged up and died. And it isn't the fault of the game, it's my playstyle that had changed. I…
  • What an astonishing collection, @Karritz. You definitely are a skilled builder. Was the Paradise Casino the lot where you put too many trees and bushes and it made the game freezing and unplayable, or do I remember it wrong?
  • I usually prefer to visit China first, because the Sims can learn there the matrial arts skill which is useful for fighting of mummies. The axe that is necessary for breaking the large obstacles in the tombs can be obtained there too, but it usually comes in one of the late adventures and therefore you have to visit the…
  • Then again TreyNutz didn't state that it's supposed to be used at the place where he lives.
  • More and more beuatiful houses and ideas are posted, thanks everyone! As few of you have already stated, it's a great source of inspiration. It's also always interesting to learn what others like and prefer to build. You catched the mood of an old asylum perfectly, @Pary. I could only imagine the post apocalyptic view from…
  • What occasionally pops up in my mind is that sometimes it would be really on spot to boo certain people. I never actualy did that though.
  • Wow, so many beautiful houses yet each one of them is unique. So it seems that all neighbors love the miner, @Teetoot. The strange thing is that they don't mind loud music from the stereo in your backyard at all. The village looks as if it had fallen from 18th century or even older times. I'm in awe of our realism and…
  • I actually quite like vampires, they have both strengths and flaws and it makes them different than others and slightly more challenging to play. Time to time they are a welcomed change against normal human Sims I play most of the time with. I just pretend that vampire sunscreens or vampire Sims sparkling in the sunlight…
  • Thank you! Still it's a very simple house with simple design. Nice tips, @thuggishsplicer. Especially the one about bedrooms upstairs is handy, I've never thought about it before. I'm looking forward to see your creation, @06Bon06 :-)
