I'm pretty sure they can, but not from emotions. Parenthood introduced new phases and moods which bring with them strong emotions like enraged or mortified. So now they won't die from them.
She did definitely finally find her place. She's felt very adrift (even before she and Peter broke up), and now she's let go of her hangups about herself and her art.
MOO is (usually) fine to use with usable objects, to an extent. The beauty of sims 4 is that, routing-wise, sims are a lot smarter than previous games. For instance, did you know that you can make a fully functional 2x2 bathroom using MOO? It just takes a lot of careful playing around with the alt key.
