@SoulGal7 I wish I knew about the moving a friend in, I did not sell the furniture so I guess if she wants too and has enough money, she can buy her house back once she finishes University I might also combine days while she is in Uni, since most of it will be study sleep and eat LOL. Perhaps I can do a weekly update instead.
@all might load my game again and play a bit, but will only update once I played a week of gameplay
Great dorm room, so colourful! I like the aqua with all the posters.
aww thank you
@all going to load my game now, I think I am at Wednesday now. Just a quick question, with the studying how do you know your sim studied enough, there is no indicator that I can see. She is only studying for the two subjects she is going to write an exam on, not the presentation and paper one, since those are already submitted
I have no option for that at university, she goes into rabbit holes for classes. But she did good, I just studied a bit of each of the exam subjects a day and it seemed to do the trick.
@all just finished her first term, she did well and had a little fun, not too much more studying. Will write the update now, It's going to be a big one since it is a whole term.
Miranda had a very busy week. She started off struggling a bit trying to find routine, once she got into routine and discovered how to keep her needs in green all went well. She completed her first term and did very well, so proud of her. Not much time for fun, it truly is a challenge doing 4 subjects at a time, I usually did one LOL.
Miranda worked on this presentation for two days and its now perfect and ready to hand in
Miranda noticed some very weird happenings at her classes, hoping it won't happen to her
Miranda preferred doing her homework after classes outdoors, that is if she had energy
unfortunately the weirdness became a part of Miranda too
Miranda kept her dorm room door locked while studying on the computer, other sims just wanted to play games on it
Miranda like to keep the statue clean, she did not like it being defaced
Lots of little power naps as she hardly got a full night's rest anymore
and lots of tense days too
The end of the week Miranda remembered she has not done research and debate skills for a while and caught up (thank goodness she skilled up most of it that week before starting university, where would she have gotten the time
Friday night the room mates seemed a little too loud so she did her homework in the night air
That Saturday morning Miranda slept in, had it not been for her bladder she would have slept even later
What a nice relaxing day, she could actually finish a meal this time, not rushing to get to class
Oh my
its all good now, thank goodness for medicine
feeling uncreative from all the studying, she did a painting
She joined in with the cheer day
Miranda got her results
She joined for the next term as well, the same degree with different subjects since those skills are good so its less work for me LOL
@mcrudd if you click on her portrait while she's at class there is an option to take notes.
Looks like she's doing great anyway though! Nice job Miranda and the dorm room decor is great too.
@mcrudd & @mightysprite - Yes, I normally click between Active Listening and Take Notes when they go in that rabbit hole for class. I read somewhere that is supposed to help with grades, but also doing all the term papers, and the presentation board, too. That is why I always apply for uni on the Friday so that for first term, they have the weekend to work on all their homework, etc. before Term 1 begins. There's a lot! The presentation board, I find, always takes the longest, and I also get feedback from some random student and that seems to help.
I couldn't remember which uni had the distinguished degree in Culinary Arts, but I looked it up and it is Britechester. I really like that campus, although I love the Foxbury commons better.
Oh gosh, Miranda saw some strange sights at uni, didn't she? And she was affected, too! Miranda with face stripes...poor girl...all work and no play for her and now she's sick! You are brave taking 4 core courses. I always liked taking 3 core courses and 1 elective because the electives were all so funny. Shower singing was my fav! lol But this way, it will take Miranda less time to complete uni. Miranda is so lucky she has a private dorm room, unlike Ali, who had to share. In another save file, with another sim, they lived in residence and had put out those little plant pots and they were stolen. There was probably a klepto roomie or visitor who took them. It worked for my storyline, though, but it was so weird. So, because of that, I never left Ali's laptop in her dorm room, and she always carried it with her in her personal inventory.
A great way to get the Research and Debate skill up is to join the Debate Team. Also, on Sat. they have a Debate showdown, and if your sim wins the debate, they get simoleons. Very cool. Just for joining any of the uni organizations, Miranda would get a t-shirt and a little flag. Just a bit of fun as they also have pub nights, and she gains debate/research skill when you attend these if you are in the Debate Organization.
Thanks @mightysprite and @SoulGal7 I will keep all your tips on board for next time I play my game again. Tomorrow is a big day for me and I have basically been sleeping most of the time. I hope to play my game again from Thursday
Hi all, been awhile! I actually finished the challenge (sorta, deets on that in a sec) awhile ago, I just was feeling too lazy for a writeup, lol. So of course in the meantime I lost my notes so I can't go into detail about the final weeks Oh well.
So in summary: She's now a spellcaster! She aged up! She graduated! She's a lawyer! She got a boyfriend! He's a vampire! They got a decent apartment and are shacked up! I gave her a bit of a makeover, here's a selfie of her and the BF!
Strictly speaking I didn't finish the challenge since she's in an apartment and not an actual house, but I thought apartment life suited her more in this phase of life. She'll be in a house eventually, it'll just be after they get married, whenever that is. Here's the apartment btw
I didn't do a ton, but I'm pretty happy with it.
Thank you to @mcrudd for posting this challenge! Dawn's journey was a lot of fun
Aww thank you so much @mightysprite, all went well but is pretty confusing. My resting heart rate without the beta blockers sits at about 120 beats per minute, with beta blockers at about 95 beats per minute. The stress ecg showed a high heart rate but normal sinus rythm, but something is causing the high heart rate but nothing showed up. So now I am on the waiting list for an echo cardiogram scan.
Wooop woop congratulations on ending your challenge in style in an apartment @Carmine Love the selfie they both look great. Your apartment is super lovely inside. It definitely qualifies as a house since it has the required rooms, so you are all goods Thank you so much for joining into my little challenge, you did great and super happy you had fun
@all, I am a bit tired so won't play today, but I do hope to play soon
Hope they get you sorted soon @mcrudd. Much empathy for mysterious aliments being checked out by specialists and being sick. Virtual hugs. I’ve even had a couple echo-cardios my own self.
I’m finally back at work and hope to get update out on Lindsay soon. Heads up, she’s graduated Foxbury and living in her first home so I guess I completed the challenge? Post coming soon as I said…
When I reread though I saw the part about academic aspirations and while Lindsay did indeed peruse the goal oriented teen aspiration and the academic (knowledge category) aspiration she didn’t complete either.
Also, there may have been one point where Lindsay due to needs glitches and pushing her too hard, umm, starved to death. Requiring a back out without saving naturally. (Thank goodness for MCCC auto save). So maybe this watcher is a bit of a fail at challenges…
Still Lindsay is the most fun I’ve had Simming in years and that’s saying a lot. That’s partly thanks to the inspiration of this starting point. So Thank You!!!!!!
@NRowe Yay super duper congratulations on completing the challenge
Can't wait to read the next instalment, I am still on the edge of my seat because of that little twist you threw in there I had to giggle at the "glitches" you had in your game, I had to exit without saving as well, but was too proud to mention it. I think it was death by electrocution LOL. I am so happy you enjoyed the challenge
Hi all, I am going to try and play a little, I am trying to keep busy, my heart is aching. I got a call at 2am to let me know that my grandmother (ouma) had passed away
I will update once the term is completed like I did last time, so probs no update tonight
Hi guys I played a bit these last few days. Miranda has completed another term, one more to go and then to find a job to complete the challenge. I am at a complete lost at which days she is at, so lets just call it Term 2
Miranda always gets those pesky little presentations out of the way first. She works on them before her term even starts officially
Then she concentrates on homework
And that tricky term paper
Sharing her knowledge of cooking with the rest of the simworld
Oooh simoleons for that, but lets not do that again
Gosh these room mates are so filthy; they never clean up after themselves
Miranda would rather be outside in the fresh air than the stuffy dorm
Miranda has graduated. I nearly missed her throwing her hat, they do that so quick without warning LOL. Miranda only needs to find a job now. I am sorry only noticed now loading the pics to imgur that I have switched off the UI so I had to truly figure out what happened in each pic. I did it for all the baby pics I have to take to upload the outfits to overwatch curseforge. Sorry about that. Miranda moved back to her house she purchased it unfurnished and I was so happy when I saw all of her furniture in her inventory. So I will just need to refurnish her house, get a job and then I completed the challenge too. I will do that after this update
This is Miranda's last presentation
Trying to catch up with homework inbetween classes
Got all her needs up and straight to bed for the next day of uni
Oh my gosh these Roomies seriously needs a talking too
I know Miranda sorry, just finish that homework and then we will work on your needs
Ugh just as bad as the roomies
there you go, work on a little fun need, green plumbob again
@mcrudd - And a hearty congrats to you and Miranda for completing the challenge! Woot! She did so well in all her grades. And yes, getting that cap shot in the air at graduation is fast. Glad she got her house back. Now we need a smooch pic with Kiyoshi again! lol And now she will become a great chef!
aww thank you so much @SoulGal7 how special of you to load a congrats pic for me I will load my game a little later and get you that smooch pic, my plan is to move him in and let him propose to her
I am just running around a bit now getting things ready for tonight when its my Grandmother's funeral with Microsoft teams we are able to "be there" too

Thank you She had a full life, I mean my kids are her great grandchildren and they are 23 and 18. It just still hurts knowing she is no longer here
Then she concentrates on homework
And that tricky term paper

Oooh simoleons for that, but lets not do that again
Gosh these room mates are so filthy; they never clean up after themselves

Unless Kiyoshi comes for a visit
A little bit of painting for creativity
Oh no it is that time already, first exam
Well that was not too bad
but will prepare more for the last one
aced that one, felt confident the whole time
Results, better than last term
And the final subjects required for a degree
Trying to catch up with homework inbetween classes
Got all her needs up and straight to bed for the next day of uni
Oh my gosh these Roomies seriously needs a talking too
