All of the events went flawlessly, everything worked perfectly except for when I called guests for the cake cutting. When I did that, it did work...it worked too well. Every single Sim in the entire neighborhood, even the vendors from food stalls out in the public space, came to watch the cake get cut.
All of the sims who came for the cake cutting who weren't actually guests also stayed there to watch the cake cutting for hours and hours after all the wedding guests had moved upstairs for dancing...it was kinda hilarious.

:joy: Well, in keeping with the theme of this thread, that is wonderful news! Better the whole neighborhood come to eat some cake then no on at all. I had an engagement dinner party and bach party in my game and they worked very nicely, but I haven't had their wedding yet. I will remember to lock the doors on the venue for only approved guests and then the townies can stand outside banging on the doors looking for cake

@Elliandre, lock those filthy peasants out! Don't let them eat cake!

Seriously though, they all came to watch the cake get cut for me...but didn't actually eat any. Not one of them grabbed a slice when the guests did start grabbing some dessert. I never used the actual command to "let's eat desserts" or whatever from the wedding ceremony pie menu though. I just cut it, took some pictures of them feeding each other, and then went straight to the upstairs party room for dancing and drinking.
Half of the cake was still left a few hours later when I finally actually moved the cake into a Sim's inventory, which freed all the townies finally...they had been locked in a death stare watching the cake the entire time until then.

Although the fixes addressed all the issues I was experiencing, there is a new issue that has surfaced. Because I regularly have toddlers in my households, this is disconcerting considering they haven't fixed the umbrella issue with toddlers.

Toddlers are reacting to weddings when they didn't before and now there little bodies are stretching out of shape.
This is what is happening to toddlers at wedding as they are reacting. I hope whatever they did they revert this back because a toddler should not be reacting to the wedding. This totally ruined my photos so I didn't even save it. I have to do the wedding again and I really don't want to exclude my toddlers from the event.
    Toddlers-at-Wedding.jpg

Please add to my EA Answers HQ if this is happening to those who have tested this mod free: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/MWS-Toddler-body-stretches-when-reacting-to-wedding/m-p/11414421#M211591

Also, since Seasons was released, the Toddlers arms and body stretches to accommodate an umbrella that was not designed for them. This is very similar to the wedding issue concerning Toddlers. This hasn't been fixed. I wish they would fix this or remove umbrellas from Toddlers. Its not like they are outside that long anyway when it rains.

Here is the EA Answers HQ link. Please add a comment if this is happening to you and you tested this free of mods.

Sounds cool!!! I'm heading over to see your picture thread.

Would be awesome if all those locals came to watch the actual wedding, imagine 40-50 sims witnessing my sims getting married...

So, I had a wedding last night on Sims and nobody showed up in what they were meant to.. But I realised they were all in their hot weather outfits... because it was hot. Has anyone else had this? Do they need to fix some sort of override for the wedding attire do we think or is it just me? :D

Also, the wedding in general didn't go as well as my previous one.. Again, probably just me, just made me wonder if the new patch maybe un did a few of the fixes?

Does anybody know if it's still possible to have normal basegame weddings when My Wedding Stories is installed? I know a lot of people complained about this at launch. I really want this pack, since I love doing weddings, but I would love to be able to have some basic, backyard weddings from time to time.

From what I understand, I do believe it's still a possibility. I could be wrong, here's to hoping someone comes along who actually knows the answer. :)

Oh, I hope the latest patch didn't bork the MWS. I haven't had the chance to hold a wedding since the fixes were made. Had to delay things due to a Road Trip. Just now in a place to be able to play my game only to learn a Patch dropped while I was on the road. SMH If it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all.

Ii think you are able to have very simple weddings with MWS, because you get to pick what you want to do.

From what I understand the old goaled wedding events are gone, but you can still marry a couple the old way by clicking the arch or elope quickly. I don't have thye pack yet so I might be wrong, though. LOL.

Just a question has anyone gotten the courthouse option to work? I much prefer the nicer weddings but if a couple fits it I'd like to know.

I'm pretty sure that's Patina, but judging from the timeline, she appeared strangely. I think they are simply showing that afro hairstyle.
Or a daring idea, the simuniverse timeline has come to Summer‘s adulthood with her daughter!

Yes, it works fine for me. My understanding is that the main thing that makes it not work is if you created the couple as "engaged" in Create-A-Sim rather than had them get engaged through gameplay.

If by courthouse you mean the option to elope, while I see it in the menu, I've not tried it. Since the original wedding in Sims4 was so very chaotic, my fallback was simply to have the couple elope. Used to be they would just go through the same interactions with the arch. Can't say how it works now. I've only thrown one wedding since the new pack. It went mostly well, but then the fixes came down. I'm just Sim-days away from my next try.

@GalacticGal I mean the rabbit hole that is near the shops in tartosa.

@RedDestiny92, what I meant is that people having trouble with it did the engagement in CAS. If your sims got engaged in game it should be less likely you'd have a problem with it.
Two things of note that I found when I was testing it in my game:
It has open hours and if you try to elope when it's very close to when it closes, it seems glitchy and doesn't always work. And it, obviously, doesn't work after hours when it is closed.
It's really easy for the interaction to get thrown out of the queue by the sims autonomy and all it takes is one of the couple to lose it from their queue for it not to work, so what works best is getting both sims right up to the town hall together, and only then select the option for them to get married.

Clearly I haven't had my Sims spend enough time in Tartosa. It was all I could do to find the flower vendor, and where to taste cake. Thank you for the hint. :)

I think it's a great pack. I blame myself for most if not all of the mishaps. There is a bit of a learning curve to this one. As I have posted before, I only just learned the bride and groom can cut the cake together. BUT, the cake MUST be on a DINING table for it to occur. Also, you can't have more than one wedding arch on the lot. This can cause a whole range of adverse affects. (Really, why would you need more than one, right?) I will be taking my YA couple through their Wedding once more now that I'm back home again. Had a serious (series) of failures while on the road, then discovered that part of the backdrop in the venue I found on the Gallery quite some time ago, were enlarged wedding arches. Once I removed those, things started to playout the way they were designed to. Player Malfunction, as I like to call it. I simply didn't recognize them for what they were in their oversized shape. I shall have to reclaim the Screenshots folder from my laptop in order to show you what I mean. Right now, it's still in its bag. Yeah, I'm exhausted.

ETA: I now have a picture to share to show the rather enlarged wedding arches that threw me off. As you can see, I put an arrow at each of the three arches and put a box around the arch I had chosen from MWS pack.

Thing is, a game like Sims 4 should not HAVE a real learning curve. The bugs aside (I watched Lilsimsie's review of the pre-patch pack after getting it yesterday) even with the bugs patched, there is a LOT of things that isn't explained, like what kind of table you have to put the cake on to make it work, or the fact that you have to talk to people before assigning them roles, something no other kind of party or social event has in the game (that is a very weird choice to me).

I got gifted this pack yesterday so I have it now installed, but I have not had a wedding yet... The wedding aspect itself was never a big selling point for me, I usually go thru with the ceremony but without guests (so semi-eloping). I must say though that the starter home lot at the very top left seems to perfect for a modest celebrity that don't really care about being famous and isn't interested in living in "The Hollywood Hills", in a penthouse or similar. The world does look amazing and it is nice to see a part of "Europe" that is not Britain (Cottage Living, Discover University, arguably Realm Of Magic) or Central Europe (Get Together, Vampires) :)
I also don't mind "boring" or "empty" worlds as long as they are beautiful, my distase for Evergreen Harbor is that two out of three neighborhoods are so utterly boring even with all the modern development; it's just square city blocks on flat surface. While I adore Sulani and somewhere between 80% and 90% of my Sims end up living there permanently.

Somethings are still broken, I'm waiting for more fixes.

It's up to you if you buy it knowing this, they did fix some stuff with it.

I generally think that if people buy it knowing that it's still broken then the needed fixes will never actually come.

As someone who just got this for free... I think if I understand this correctly it is more a matter of "are you interested in weddings or not". Kind of like in real life ;) some people subscribe to like 4 bridal magazines, others never bother to get married at all ;) Point is that there are no game breaking bugs left and it is about the same level of broken as Dine Out, a pack that's been out for 5 years and still have many issues.
