Thanks for posting some of the replies to prove that most who interact with the gurus don't attack them and just give valid criticism. The realistic and occult gameplay is severely lacking so right now its not the time to be experimenting like this.
It's nice to see a guru finally respond to players, explain the situation and acknowledge issues aswell. She basically indirectly said they've listened to the feedback and are working on multiple different things at one time.
People forget that a lot of other things players have wanted have been added and they've been creating, it's not instant. For example, players wanted University and Seasons so they added it, players wanted family stuff so they released parenthood, players wanted ladders so they added them as a free update, players wanted firefighters and the repo man so they brought those as a free update, they've added toddlers, pools, ghosts, etc for free as players wanted them, they're working on skin tones as players want them. It's always awkward when players criticise them for not making things as we don't know what they're working on. People were raging about ladders and at the same time the devs had already made ladders and were preparing for a release.
Not defending them though, some things have taken too long and should've been added long ago and some definite bad decisions have been made with regards to packs.
She is talking about that the sims4 is supposed to be not only a life simulator but also an adventure simulator, a trend simulator... etc.
Completely disregarding that the sims 4 is lacking in all of those aspects so that's why nothing feels complete.
Jack of all trades, master of none.
Sim Guru Frost once called it a safe space, where we can all learn and grow together. That I think is the sims 4 focus. It’s not a life sim, it’s a safe space.

I'm sorry but no. University and Seasons are expected on a sims game so of course, they added it and we shouldn't be kissing the guru's feet for it. The firefighters are Sulani neighbors with a uniform, toddlers should've come in the base game and not taken 3 years, same with pools and I find it funny how they made new skin tones for occults but couldn't make them for poc and we had to wait six years, make a petition and have the creator of a custom skin tone pack call EA out on national TV. It's not awkward to criticize the gurus at all and we should definitely continue to do it. People are raging because it takes an incredibly long time to get basic things and we sims players aren't used to this treatment from past games.

Yeah that's why I included the last line in my comment. All I'm saying is that they have listened to a lot of issues and put things players have been complaining about in free of charge, it's not like they just ignore everything people want. But still, dumb choices have been made, especially with the packs for this year and there's a lot that needs improving and it shouldn't take so long for basic things to be added.
Honestly I agree that it comes off unprofessional and patronizing. I can’t help but wonder if the negative reaction is getting to her. I’m sure they knew there would be blowback but I doubt they ever thought this would be the final straw for a lot of people.
I thought she was completely professional. She’s the Executive Producer, not a community manager.
I thought that her response was textbook perfect. She stated that she understood their position, and then explained her position. One does not have to agree with her position, but her conduct was neither unprofessional or condescending.
With world adventures, it was very different. I have a sim who was sent there as part of an opportunity to play guitar in China. She didn’t go near any of the tombs. And she learned some martial arts skill. She also has a opportunity learn music theory in France which I’ll have her do and she can learn how to make wine whilst she’s there. Again, I have no plans to do the tombs.
What In the new pack if you aren’t following the very linear story?
You are all saying that she's unprofessional or condescending simply by the fact she's not saying what you want to hear. She needs to get replaced? C'mon now.

Yeah , i agree. Im not seeing that at all. And the comments about her needing to be replaced leave me scratching my head. If people are this antagonizing, even when a guru is being this polite, i dont think anybody would satisfy them Everything she said made a lot of sense honestly.

I think that’s what bugs me about it. It’s like they’re reading answers from a How to Deal with Customers 101 textbook. It’s a bog-standard tactic to placate the other side, but under the surface I don’t believe they care about the other side’s feedback.
I dont like this pack, ive said that already here. But the way people discuss and put down the gurus/devs is disturbing to me.Seriously, at the end of the day i think simmers are WAYYYY too intense about this stuff. Its just a game. Some themes youll like and some you wont. That doesnt mean they arent working on anything else

If they do, you say they're talking down to you. If they don't you say they're unprofessional. It seems like a carnival game where you lose no matter what.
I’m seeing a lot of good feedback for her!! She’s mentioned so she needs to take notes. Save all the tweets and get the content going ma’am. Perhaps if she had some sort of clue as to what The Sims is, since she believes it can be “AnYtHiNg”, the fandom wouldn’t be so mad that all these highly requested things are not here. It’s not like this game hasn’t been out for 6 years, and she’s been the EP for most of it!
Reality check; this feedback is considered toxic (even though it’s really not unwarranted) and will be ignored. Perpetuating the issue this team created for themselves, and conveniently lets the community blame EA to save face and pretend they’re doing what people want.

I don't see it. At least not in this one interaction. Maybe within the context of past interactions?

She was clearly responding out of emotion. It was unprofessional.
I fail to see the emotion. Granted, I don't know how she normally addresses people, so maybe that affects tone perception.

Anticipating Sims 5.... : P
