Honestly, Sims 2 is the longest in terms of play time. It had a certain magic to it that had great gameplay and depth, I wish Sims 4 had the same. I would play sims 3 more, but there are parts now that are still unplayable for me. :(
I have all three, and I tried to go back to Sims 2 for all the options, but I couldn't get used to the controls and graphics anymore. So now I just play Sims 4 like a maniac and hope for lots more packs to come :D
Sims 4. I don't play anymore 3 or 2 although I still have them, on a collectors point of view I guess. Today I was thinking about how i got only one hour free and I loaded sims 4. in a few seconds I was playing. That is one of the reasons I don't take 3 anymore. The other reason is that I find multitasking and the whole graphics a must and sims 3 looks very dated to me. About sims 2 I can't tell much cause I've never played that iteration for a long time. It caught me in a time in my life when I couldn't play much games.
The Sims 3. I love using the CAS feature to design new clothing styles for my sims. Plus there are more expansion packs and stuff for them to do. I do play the Sims 4 often though.
Definitely The Sims 4 more! Every time I start playing The Sims 2 or 3 I will start to miss certain things from Sims 4, and though I may play it the whole day, the next day I will go back to Sims 4!
The only things I like more with The Sims 3 is building, furnishing's, cars and open world! Though I would prefer with Sims 4, to only have a open world in each neighborhood, not the whole world, so it wouldn't be too bogged down!
And well Sims 2 I hate that we can't have each family aging together if we want, so you have to switch back and fourth to make sure everyone ages together!
What I miss from the Sims 4, is being able to create 5 outfits each in each category, and being able to have my female sims wear men's clothes, because lots of women wear t-shirts of men, shoes, hats and so on! So to me its one of the greatest things that EA/Maxis ever did! I wanted that since The Sims 2 at least!
Oh and I also miss being able to shape their bodies, so everyone doesn't have the same type of bodies, with only their weight making them different!

I mostly play Sims 4, but I go back to 3 now and again. I'd love to play some 2, but unfortunately, stupid as I was, I gave it away to a friend's niece when I got 3.
I have more time invested in TS2 than any of the rest of them. I think I can say I spent about three years playing when I had time in the others when they were current games, but TS2 got most of my time in fifteen years. After about three years in a current game, I usually return to TS2 if not before. TS1 lasted three years so when TS2 came along it was amazing and I've spent about fifteen years there off and on, while playing 3 or 4 for only about three. These days I don't play much but just make machinima, cc, etc. in any of them.

I play TS2 sometimes, but TS3 is my go to sims game.
I would love to play TS1 again, but I lost the discs I bought off of ebay a couple months ago so now I'm kind of out of luck.

2. TS4. Had been played since 2016, stopped for a while, and continued recently.
3. TS1. It's the only sims game that is not lagging and fully supported in my PC. How lucky~
Never played TS3. Might try it soon or later but I don't think my graphic card is powerful enough to support it.
