I realized I almost always throw my Sims' weddings at their house. I dress up the lot and they usually get married in the front or back yard. You know, a quaint, simple wedding. But I noticed some players throw these big, lavish weddings out at venues. Sometimes even downloading a lot from the gallery specifically for weddings. I'd love to hear what you usually do!

All the sims err'day
Main characters get to use my beach wedding lot and get a proper party.
Secondary characters elope before whatever backdrop I find fits their personality best. If I even bother and not just set them as spouses with cas.fulleditmode.
Legacy save:
They marry in the legacy house and the arch must specifically set up to include the lit up lighthouse in the wedding screenshot. Ideally also the moon, because both moon and lighthouse are of great symbolic value to my legacy sims.
For me, weddings aren't too big of a deal in my game. I might take some screenshots, but a lot of the time my sims will just elope on the spot in a pretty location or just not bother getting married as it doesn't make much of a difference if they are or not. My sims would probably get married more if the step-parents and aunt & uncle in-laws were recognised in the relationship panel.

I wish that those relationships were recognized. The Sims 4 relationship panel is just so lacking in detail, I wish they could expand on it further.
not so berry family tree
if the sims are the type to have a big fancy wedding, i give them a big fancy wedding. i've also had sims that just eloped on the spot, or at the romance festival.
the venues i use depend on the sim's personalities. i've used traditional churches, outdoor venues, wedding barns, lounges, and more.
One is a small chapel, with a place in the garden for the reception.
The second is a large, elegant build with a chapel, a lovely courtyard, and even apartments for a mini honeymoon.
The other one I use is a gorgeous park that I placed where the VonHaunt house used to be, the ceremony under arch near the waterfall and then back to the park for a garden reception (cross your fingers it doesn’t rain).
If I am feeling lazy I just have them elope. One of the couples married in their kitchen, (really didn’t think that one through) all of the pics have a kitchen bench or appliance in the background.
So, I downloaded a spooky graveyard lounge for Morticia and Gomez.
These two actually two "weddings"--one big lavish public one with Miko friends contacts (she's in the politician career) and a private "wedding" with just the two of them where my "sim-self" Fanphoria Mercury could flaunt her alien-ness without freaking anyone out.
These two were impatient, and proposed and then immediately eloped at this tiny "chapel" that I'd placed in world.
These two had been together for ages already, and had a quaint but festive backyard wedding, with their three teenage kids helping out on cooking and hosting duties.
These two had a small (family only) rather formal and "important" wedding at a proper cathedral with a graveyard, as they were uniting to major vampire dynasties.
This romantic sim threw a lavish wedding at the von haunt estate and married her vampire betrothed at the stroke of midnight.
This sim who loves the outdoors also had a lavish Von Haunt estate wedding...and then a smaller backyard elopement for her second marriage, after the first one didn't work out ;-P
These two were still pretty poor when they got hitched, so they eloped in the ruins, and threw a cheaper party for all their friends after.
This trendy young romantic city couple got threw a big wedding at the Center Park.
This was a whirlwind relationship where the met, went on their first date, got engaged, and then eloped in the kitchen all in one day lol
These traditional types had a small family wedding in the chapel.
These frugal artsy types eloped outside the museum.
These two had kind of a controversial relationship, as the were basically brought up as siblings (each born from an abduction through a different parent) and eloped at the von haunt estate.
This successful and born rich artist married her outdoorsy beau in the newly renovated Municipal Muses courtyard, in a BIG and BOISTEROUS wedding
These two wanted to show off their swanky new apartment (didn't really work out, but still, can't knock the view).
And these two took advantage of the romance festival timing perfectly with their wedding plans.
And I've had elopements at the bluffs or on dates, and several other home weddings as well, sometime multiple generations in the same home. It all just depends on the circumstances and what vibe I get from the couple. I've got my tried and true ones of course--the rebuild of the von haunt estate I use is great for weddings, in a practical and aesthetic sense--but I like to try out new things too. Another pair of my recently got engaged, and I'm think about a home wedding for them, since she has the mansion baron aspiration and they've just moved into a pretty nice place and I imagine she'd want to show it off. I'd want to make it extra EXTRA nice, so we'll see what I an manage lol ;-P
