Hi . Is the new with the 30 posts and 50 points?
I have previously created my own topics here, even without 30 posts. Bacause the points were enough, but suddenly it is no longer possible. I have a problem with Sims 3, and in no existing theme my problem fit in. I want to play my game , and not wait a few days until I can post something. What should I do ? The topics in the section that have already been answered, no one is looking more at it now. So it doesn´t help me to describe my problem there.
Hello @SimsCat84 ,
Try logging out of the site then log back in again, and see if the new discussion button is on the top right hand side of the screen.
If it is not there, because of the recent spambots attack issues, new discussion threads may have been restricted for new members. You may not be able to start a new thread until you become a full member.
You need to have 50 points and 30 posts before you can become a full member and can then post pictures, have a signature, post links and change your profile picture.
You have enough points to become a member, you just need some more posts. Keep posting in the diferent sections of the forums and you will soon get the 30 posts.
How do you put words over an image? Also, how do you change the background of an image?
Hello @cupcake12 You need to use a photo editing program such as photoshop, gimp or paint.net to do that. Gimp is a free photo editing program that you could use.
How do we change our username? Do we have to create a completely new profile in order to do that?
Hello @Sarahstarr If you would like to change your forum name you need to post on either @SimGuruDrake or @SimStaffBethelle wall to say that you would like to change your name.
what if i don't have a big blue create discussion button?
Hello @RainaElf .

If you have a game issue, you can post it on another thread that another simmer has already started, and there will be simmers that will help you with your issue.
As far as I know, unless they changed it back again,
New Members can't create threads until they are "Full" or at least after several posts because of the SpamBot attacks of January and February this year.

I have actually seen some New Members making new threads. There was one just recently that was going by the name AdminLily that just joined last month going around pretending to be a part of the EA team and making threads talking about competitions that they were supposed doing about ideas. That account soon got deleted all together as well as the New Discussions that the user was making. For some reason, some New Members can make new threads while others are having issues.

I saw the imitation admin's post and apparently their "lockdown" was either lifted or inconsistent.
Suffice it to say if there is no blue "discussion" button, it is due to the "lockdown": being applied to that particular member and that, in turn was because of the spambot attacks.
Best bet: New Members who don't have a "Discussion" button should PM a guru or moderator for full details.

Yeah I posted that back then when the mods were locking down the New Discussions. But we haven't had any recently spambot attacks in quite sometime now. So this shouldn't be an issue. I do know that there is a time limit on when users can make another new thread right after they just made one but that shouldn't effect those who just made one a day ago to a week or months ago.
I sent SimStaffBethelle a PM this morning so that when she gets in, she can see it and look into it and see what's up. I just hate to have to tell New Members that they can't make New Discussions while some New Members can and make myself look like that I don't know what's going on. Sometimes the method that Bethelle recommended works and sometimes it doesn't. So that means that there is a glitch or something in the system. And it could be possible that it's block from certain devices as I believe it was either rosemow or despina comment on someone's post in the activity feed that could be the reason why they can't start New Discussions. It's not fair that some can make New Discussions while some can't.
Hopefully SSB sends me another PM about this with any other recommendations on what to do as I had also told her that I also post about trying to clear out browsing history and/or trying another internet browser when New Members comment about this.
thanks for the help, guys. i'd forgotten all about the posting debacle from the winter. i've read these boards for as long as they've been here but i've never had an account until now and wasn't quite sure how it all worked. i have an issue with my university mailboxes ... i'll go dig around and see if anyone else has had, too.

You have 43 points and only need 7points more to become a full member , so you will soon be able to post a new discussion.
Hi, I have a question and not sure where to ask it ! I always look at the forums on my iphone, and in the menu bar in the top left corner where I normally click on "categories" and "discussions" and "profile" I accidentally hit "full site" or something like that and it completely changed the layout of the forums for me to look how it does when I'm on my laptop now I can't figure out how to change it back ! help please !

Hello @OliveSims
Try pressing the menu label again that says " full site" and it may revert back to how it was before.

You did write on someone's wall that New Member posting was, in fact locked down as of January 31.
