I mean... There's already WW if you like this kinda deviant playstyle.

Seems like another niche feature, that already exist in game, and completely unnecessary to add. Save the budget, time and effort of the sims team on something that actually adds to the game like adding more traits with substance, better gameplay, frickin burglars and cars.
This is pretty much the way I think about it. They do have the free love NAP in Eco lifestyle.
And I personally would rather see the team working on other things that I would like to see like cars, horses, bands, hotels and casino’s rather than spending time changing the whole marriage system making it polygamous. To me it just seems a waste of resources. This might be a good subject to do an actual poll on. I’m not adverse to the idea of other simmers who want polygamy in the game, though I don’t want it in mine. I’m just adverse to the use of resources it would take away from other game play ideas that I would rather see made available.
