Since you asked...here are two of the quilts I made. I don't have pictures of the entire quilt but you might be able to get the idea of how they look. I don't do fancy quilting, I use the decorative stitches on my sewing machine to do the actual 'quilting of the quilt'.

and this in English Paper Piecing - you fold material around various shapes, then hand stitch them together until you have enough to make a quilt. I'm doing these flower shaped ones, then applying them to large squares to form the quilt.

The other one I'm working on is still in a trazillion pieces, so no picture yet.

ok so revamping a town takes a lot longer than I thought. I opened up a new world and wanted to combine some of the rabbit holes. trying to find the appropriate sized lot, fix the landscaping so it blends into the town, delete the extra rabbit holes.
I thought I would have time to set it up and still get some game play but I guess that isn't to be.

    Very, very nice quilting!

Yeah, @fleshjenn, it takes a long time to just do a little tweaking! I can spend days setting up the simplest of things.

@Kgaff Love the quilts! The one I've just started for my niece is a log cabin one, so I'm at the making blocks stage (lots of them still to go!). I'll try and get some pictures up later on, as I was planning to take them as I went for my records anyway. I'll have to find out how to do the "spoiler" thing on the post, as that's neat.
@fleshjenn Yes, I've thought before now, oh I'll just tweak a world as a background for a new story. And then I've been on for days sorting out the background. Or playing a bit of the story and then having to go back into edit world mode because now the characters are going somewhere else and I need appropriate pictures there. I have done CAW a few times, but that's seriously long term. And my worlds never quite look like I want them to either.

you can always use the quote option to see exactly what was used in a post. It contains all the code with it! Just put the word spoiler inside parens like you do for images. Then insert anything you want inside the spoiler. Close the spoiler the same way you close all codes by adding a backslash after the open parens and before the code word, ending of course with the close parens.

example: [*]blah[/*] Just replace the asterisk with the code you want. In this case, you'd type in spoiler. For pics, you'd type in img.

hey everyone. so no playtime tonight, I went to pick up my kids from my moms and my parents took me out for a late birthday dinner. we went to my favorite steakhouse so yum. then my kiddos informed me that tomorrow is a holiday so they were planning on staying an extra day at grammas. lol, I completely forgot to check their folders Friday and had no clue!

@SamelaRita yeah I tried CAW when it first came out and it was just too much for me. I love that we can replace lots with different sizes in edit town now. its made it much simpler to add in the big lots like the casino and equestrian center.
usually I don't mess with it much on small challenges but I was going to start a story with a longer life span and I wanted to add in the bakery and toy shop and several others.

An alternative to typing in the code for spoilers or quotes is the 6th from viewing left icon for paragraph with drop down arrow above the text box used for leaving comments. Highlight text and then click the paragraph symbol, it drops down 3 choices: quotes, spoiler, and code; and then click the one you want. You can do similar with images, grab your image url from it's source, click on the above picture icon and paste in the url.

The tools above the comment box come in handy when in a hurry or very tired. The catch, code for text size and color have to be typed in by hand, same for underlining.

@ciane and @Mmdrgntobldrgn Thanks for the help in navigating how to put up pictures! I'm not naturally computer-minded! My husband is: we've decided we basically think in two different ways. I'm good on how-things-work that I can physically see, but not when it's all invisible...And windows 10 drives me demented (thankfully it's only on my laptop) because it keeps rearranging where things are kept and then I can't find anything! It's like someone coming into your study and changing round the contents of your desk, your drawers, your files...Grrrr!

@Mmdrgntobldrgn I never once clicked on the paragraph arrow, all these comments later thanks for that tip, I'll be using it often.

I played through week three, no alien offspring but Euan is doing some odd paintings, you'll see soon. I added a few days to autumn in my game because I want the kids to go trick or treating before they age up since I've never done that either. I think I'm having too much fun watching all the interactions instead of doing the challenge.

I have got the house reno almost done, I only need a couple of pictures here and there and fence the place in and that's done.

Chapter 3. I'm hooked on this!

@Kgaff - I'm intrigued by the paintings - mine mostly seem to do the same ones over and over again.

@ciane I loved the china cabinet that Euan bought for Patience - it's such an apt gift and so suits their personalities. Also I really like the way the house is starting to look, especially with the windows in. Fancy the boys all getting those different coloured eyes. Thanks for the comment on my chapter too :)

Nothing much just an island intro, I'll get started working through pictures and writing up notes or story tomorrow.

@Mmdrgntobldrgn I love the look of the island - perfect for the renovacies, as it's such a good fit for tumbledown properties, and for explaining why they look like that.

    Gorgeous quilts, @Kgaff :)
If you lived near me, I would be asking/begging/bribing you to finish the one I attempted years ago and ... we just discovered an unfinished one by hubby's grandmother (or was it great-grandmother?) in his mother's dresser.

I find it quite interesting that we are finding more similarities than playing these fun challenges. <3 how the game pulls people together and as time goes by, nifty things are learned as we relax and get to sharing RL things.

@SamelaRita ~ Caught up on reading your telling of the story that @Mmdrgntobldrgn started. It's so good! Between the two of you, a story full of opposing personalities and living with bare bone necessities as this family struggles with day-to-day living is developing beautifully. I almost don't want to attempt playing it down the road and keep this gem intact as is.

@Mmdrgntobldrgn ~ LOVE your idea for using the Industrial Island and building it to suit. Am curious to know one thing ... are you placing and playing each challenge in this world or are you using different ones?

@fleshjenn ~ Still needing to catch up on reading yours.

@Kgaff and @ciane ~ Looking forward to binge reading these when I finish mine. Really neat to see the directions each of us take with Euan and Patience.

As I wrap each challenge family I'll be adding the next one to the island. Which is why I'm being careful with my screen shots.

Great story so far!! I don't want to give too much away but I am really liking the, how should I put it...the point of view from which you are telling the story. That was a great idea. Looking forward to see what happens next. :star:

Thanks Addy! You really should take your hubby's grandmother's quilt some where and get it quilted. It would be awesome to hand it down and have something so special.

First pictures of the quilt I've just started - these are the ones I'm taking for my records, but I thought I'd share them!
    [img][/img]wUEgcx.jpg
    [img][/img]HlQ1UC.jpg
    [img][/img]ruHkIX.jpg

I'm not sewing it together until I've made all the blocks (144, I reckon), but I'm photographing it at each square, so 1,4,16,36,64,100 and 144 blocks. The gaps between the pictures will get longer...
Now I'm going off to read Mmdrgntobldrgn's story!

@fleshjenn ~ Your story is terrific! <3 the way you're using military terms and the direction the story is progressing in. Lucy should be quite proud with how her brother stepped up to the plate and took one for the team. Looking forward to reading more. :)

@Mmdrgntobldrgn ~ That is going to be some story! So many possibilities and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing where you go with this.

I thought so! The idea of setting all of these stories on the same island is clever and it will be interesting to see if the families cross paths with one another.
