I'll most likely get it, but not when it comes out. I'll wait a couple weeks and see what people think of it. Just to avoid being disappointed like I was with GTW. I really enjoyed running restaurants in Sims 2 and I hope this version doesn't end up watered down or anything.
Absolutely. Being able to eat in a restaurant without it being a rabbit hole and watching time fly by is a welcome change. Plus who knows what kind of antics will go on with other Sims.
1)"No" to marriage proposals
2)Food too spicy that sims run all over the restaurant flailing their arms.
3)Whoo-hoo in the freezer...it could happen.
4) waiters and waitresses tripping over stuff or messing up orders.
It could be fun. Not saying any of that will happen, but hilarity would ensue if it did. Now if they ever decide to do grocery stores I hope it gets the same treatment as Dine Out where you can actually shop.
Of course I will. Day 1, as I have with every pack since the day I got the game. Not only is it something I'm looking forward to, but I'd get it anyway for the build/buy mode items and Sims outfits.
And EA/Maxis loves consumers who feel like you.
I feel the same way as him. I love The Sims 4 and will get the content the same day it is released. I haven't regretted a single purchase yet.
So according to SVP there is a unofficial release date for the new pack on May 26. The details as follows...
The Sims™ 4 Dine Out – Own a restaurant and take your Sims out to eat. Create and manage a variety of restaurants, hire staff, and set the perfect menu to earn a profit and expand your business. Dine out with Sims to enjoy all-new experimental cuisine and spend quality time with friends and family.
Am I the only one that this does not appeal to? I'm so uninterested in having a restaurant, though I know it was a big ask for other players. I feel like it's something that should have been rolled into GTW with the whole aspect of shopping and buying food anyway. I will not be partaking in this pack (GP SP? I can never remember) as it won't add anything to my gameplay. I really only bought GTW for the ability to have doctors and cops in the game but usually when I play, the last time which was eons ago, I completely avoid going to work at all as it was so repetitive.
So, long story short, will you buy Dine Out?
I'm with you 100%. Of course I know we'll be referred to, by the cheerleaders, as "haters" and "negatives" but *sniff* I'll live. :-) We are being thrown everything but what we are asking for. I want added gameplay with exciting, unexpected situations. Nothing much has been added to the base game per say. It's all involved boring off world play like, having a bakery WOO-HOO, or Spa Day, and then (for me) Get Together with clubs. All safe and boring, all the time. They have totally lost direction. When I saw Restaurant coming out, I couldn't believe it. I was afraid there would be nothing awesome being produced. EA has set the trend for the Sims and they're just throwing us wet noodles. So for the cheerleaders, this is my opinion and I'm speaking for myself, as I will continue to do. Call me what you will. I don't cave to peer pressure.
And I know that people will call those who like TS4 "cheerleaders" and "sheep," but hey, we'll live, right?
Yes, we will. And wouldn't it be nice if we could all just respect each other and how we feel about the game? :-)
To Me they were just one more retail type play, which is already in the game, so I am not sure yet if I want to bother buying Dine Out, I will have to wait and see, cause My type of game play is for Gothic, Vamps and such.
Same here. I'll probably buy it after awhile, but like you, It's just another retail type thing. But by no means do I wish the sims would die ya know. I miss the gameplay.
If it does not include some sort of new world or area for the venues I will not buy it. Restaurants are a definite must have for me, but not if it comes at the expense of bulldozing lots to place them. I was dismayed that's how they released Spa Day, and I have no desire for another pack like that.
You would think Maxis would take the limited number of lots into account, but I truly don't imagine this GP will offer anything beyond the restaurant venue.
Yes because I love the cooking skill so I'm hoping for some new recipes. Plus I would love to take my simmies on a romantic date or a family dinner. I also like the idea of owning a restaurant
Absolutely. Up until now I have been picking up content packs here and there whenever I feel like injecting something new into my game but I might actually pick this one up on day one if it is everything I'm hoping its going to be. I've been waiting to have restaurants and the gameplay associated with them back for so long.
For some reason the deacriptions strikes me as the focus of the gamepack is OWNING A RESTAURANT but not visiting one which I sure hope isn't the case. *cough* Family focus please *cough*
For the amount of time a sim actually sits and eat I'm happy taking my sims to a bar or a pub or disco and grab a meal from the bar, I can order a plate of something and my whole family can sit and eat. So I'll not be buying the restaurant any time soon. I'll be interested to see what others think of it. and I wont probably have my sims running one. especially if its anything like the Business we have now, when the customers spend forever choosing and talking before they buy.

Sorry but I disagree about marriage proposals I want those to return as part of the table interactions.

Surely you saw it mentioned eat with your family and the teaser showed sims dining at a restaurant.

Maybe they ll surprise us and announce a new world is coming with the patch.

No I mean as an interaction, but there's the chance of you getting a "no" as an answer when you do it.
There ought to be three (at least) types of restaurant. Super-fancy for lovers, casual pub meals for families, and some kind of burger bar eatery for kids and parents.
I don't know how much this will expand the game itself, but I'll finally feel more inclined to go on dates again.
Prepping a list of mods to add after Infants are placed into the game. Because real life isn't 'nice'.

Don't let other people's opinions scare you away from playing it. It sounds like a very fun game pack and all game packs have been great so far!

I can see that too.
WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY?
Why are over-complicating a sentence? It is just a sentence.....
