      According to SGDrake, they only removed them for now due to a glitch and to see what was causing the issues with the site that has been going on since last week.

      There are trolls running amok and the major fail that is The Sims 4, and they are worried about the LOL button??!!

      So much this. They carry to the sensitive users that get upset when someone lols them, or disagrees with them, or simply has a different opinion.

      It's really sad that people can't be mature and use the "LOL" button for its intended purpose, but at the same time people have the right to disagree. I think the "LOL" button shouldn't be used for disagreeing though, that's just obnoxious.
