I'm loving this challenge! I don't want to strategize too much, i want to decide what they'll work for according to what they wish for in life, but aanyway there's always a bit of strategy in this challenge, i have to be aware of what they can accomplish in the early stages... That was my previous mistake, trying to master the charisma skill in the first generation... as soon as the school of science is ready and someone applies to a degree i believe there will be lots of students in town

Emily Jones was a witch that I made just for fun over a year ago. I never had planned to share this save here, due to the fact I was having some financial issues at the time, which I won't go into except for the fact I gave up internet (and the forums) because of that. Also, my computer at the time was a laptop that was not really made to play games on. So I cut down on what EP's I would use, and created a save with Emily that would work well with it. Emily quickly became rich when an apple became a Tiberium gem. Soon after, she met and fell in love with Christopher Steel and they had a child named Eric. Sometime after Eric was older, they had another child they named Jessica.
When Emily and Christopher were elders, Christopher decided to use some of the Lifetime Happiness points he received from accomplishing his Lifetime Wish to clone himself. Christian Jones was a child, due to the way cloning at the Science Lab works. By this time, Eric was married to Fawn Ursine, Jared and Claire's daughter. Eric and Fawn also had a daughter named Melanie by this time. Here is a spoiler for their pictures.

Most of the family were at the pool one day, but Fawn wanted to cheat on Eric, so I had her flirt with her ex, Sam Sekemoto. Christian, a child at the time, drowned in the pool. This caused Fawn not to cheat anymore, and Christopher and Emily used their resources to resurrect him. Eventually, Melanie became a werewolf by choice, and when Christian became a teen, I sent him off to boarding school. However, I brought him back before he graduated. Jessica was moved out by now, and she already had married Tommy Bunch. They also had three beautiful daughters, but to see that, read the full story.
Since I chose Eric as the heir when Emily passed away, Melanie would be his heir apparent. She was attracted to a Sim named Garry Sekemoto, who was Zelda Mae and Leighton Sekemoto's child. However, young Garry was attracted to Carina Alvi, a granddaughter to Iqbal Alvi and the Bunch's. It wouldn't matter anyhow, Melanie scared the heck out of Garry when he witnessed her transform into her werewolf form on the full moon. With the wolf taking control, Melanie ran off into the wilderness. However, those instincts told her their was a stranger at her house, so she went to investigate. Lo and behold, it was a teenaged boy named Dwight Langerak, and their was some instant attraction.
Dwight is VJ Alvi and Kaylynn Langerak's son, and a cousin to Carina Alvi. He was born a supernatural fan, so that was probably why he and Melanie got along so well. Melanie even kissed him in her werewolf form, and he liked it a lot, even though she was embarrassed when she went normal in the morning. However, Melanie already had a boyfriend named Hiram Bunch. She happened to catch him cheating on her with her aunt, Marisol Frio. She broke up with him, and then started to date Dwight. Soon, tragedy hit the family as Emily Jones passed away in the backyard. Christian soon became a young adult and he moved out of the family. He never did get married, he just woohooed the women, then went on to another one.
He did become friends with Dwight Langerak, who became an young adult around the same time. Melanie soon followed, and she turned Dwight into a werewolf like her. I had just moved Dwight into the family prior to her birthday.
Both Dwight and Melanie had a passion for martial arts, and they would often train together. They both got quite good at it, actually. Soon, Dwight and Melanie were married, with their family in attendance. This would lead to the events that caused me to change the save name from Jones to Langerak. Fawn aged up to elder the same night as her daughter's wedding. However, tragedy would strike again shortly before Melanie gave birth as Christopher followed his wife into the Netherworld. This was all about the time that I got a used gaming computer from my brother, and I didn't have to deal with lag anymore.
Eric found out that his parents had a bot building machine upstairs, so he began to learn to use it. He never thought it would end up leading to his visit to the future. He was able to build his first Plumbot, a female model named L4U-RN. She basically became a maid around the house. A man named Emit Relevart appeared out of a time portal shortly after. Emit knew that Eric was the inventor of the first Plumbot, so he wanted Eric to see how important his creation would become in the future. Upon his return to the past, Eric became the grandfather to triplets named Abigail, Ariana, and Evan Langerak.
***This recap is just to remind everyone where the story started, and for those who don't want to read five pages in the story thread section of the forum.
Raising triplets was not the easiest for Dwight and Melanie, but they made the best of it. Eric and Fawn both took their turns with their grandbabies as well, so this helped them out. L4U-RN did her part by helping with the very small garden the family had. Melanie decided to be a stay at home mother, so she began to write books for a living. She wasn't able to be self-employed officially, as I didn't have the right EP installed for that. Shortly after, Eric had his elder birthday, and it was becoming clear that Dwight and Melanie's turn to run the family was coming up quickly.
Soon, the triplets would age up into toddlers with werewolf tendencies. This was actually a fun time for me, as I never had werewolf triplets before. The triplets needed to learn their skills, so everyone had to take their turns. It took time, but they were able to learn them all. They all had Imaginary Friends, but I never made any of them real. Around this time, I added a random fairy I created named Rain Forest to the save file. I didn't know she'd eventually tie into the family, but this would be a while. Grandpa Eric made sure to read all the toddler skill books to his grandchildren, something I have been trying to remember to do. Between all of these things, the triplets aged up successfully into children. Now things would get a bit easier, mostly because they'd be in school now. With their children being older, Dwight and Melanie decided to actually visit China to learn some advanced martial arts. They also did some tomb raiding.
Back in Sunset Valley, Eric gave L4U-RN the best color scheme she had had. Previously, she was metallic colored, then was red, black, and white. But he decided hot pink and white fit her better since she was a feminine Plumbot. I started to put some more EP's into play again, so now the family could enjoy seasonal activities at the festivals, as well as other places. One of the Alvi descendants, Brianna Alvi, asked Dwight to visit China again, so he took Melanie with him as well. Fawn died not long after the trip to China, leaving Eric and the others devastated. However, Eric did have a pillow fight with the Grim Reaper. An alien came to visit L4U-RN, the first one the family ever encountered.
The triplets tried to learn as many skills as they could, mostly just so they'd be well-rounded Sims. At this time, Eric created another Plumbot named Toaster. Toaster disconnected himself from the family tree, and he moved out on his own. This was done to add a Plumbot to the town. Then, it was time for the triplets birthday party, where they aged up into two beautiful teenaged girls, and one handsome teenaged boy. This is when they were sent to Egypt for the heir competition. They fished for several hours, and Evan made the most money from this. He was in the lead to be the heir. Then the following day, they transformed into werewolves and spent the rest of the time hunting. Between the two competitions, Ariana raised the most money and was crowned the heir. I often wonder what would have happened if another had won, but I'm not going to turn back the time machine to find out.
The triplets were very close to each other, even after the heir was chosen. Ariana was the first one to find a love interest in Quinton Sekemoto, her future husband. She almost got with a Goth but that fell through.
At a Spooky Day party, Eric decided to dress like a rock star. Somehow, this caused Brianna Alvi to be attracted to him, and they would eventually date for a short time. Melanie took Ariana on a trip to France since they were both Emily's heir apparents. Eric passed away upon Melanie and Ariana's return home. This meant that the family was now going to be known as the Langerak Family, something that won't change for a while. Finally, Ariana had the bravery to ask Quinton out and he said yes. They were now going steady, and the funny thing was that Ariana's mom had a crush on Quinton's dad before she got with Dwight. Being a werewolf, Dwight lived longer than normal Sims, so he just now became an adult with a midlife crisis. Then it was time for the triplets to age up. Evan ended up meeting Rain Forest, and they began to date after her husband passed away. She was several weeks older than he was by this time, being added in when he was a baby or a toddler. Abigail got with a man named Andrea. Both Rain and Andrea would take the Langerak name as well.
Now that Evan and Abigail had both moved out, I was focusing on Dwight, Melanie, and Ariana, until Quinton moved in with them. Quinton got a bad boy makeover due to the traits he had, but he would prove to be a good father, and a good husband. However, a baby was coming soon, and it wasn't theirs. Dwight got Melanie pregnant again, and she had her fourth child, a son named Michael.
Being the heir to a wealthy family meant that Ariana didn't have to follow the rules that society set, and she proposed to Quinton who said yes. Melanie had to tell Dwight that she was pregnant, and he was ecstatic. Then, @CravenLestat sent me a Sim he created named Cori Lucas. She was a very poor Sim in my game, so the Langerak's took her in. They paid for her to accomplish her dreams in University, along with Ariana and Quinton. Ariana and Cori quickly became the best of friends, even though Cori is the shy and quiet type. Cori was a very good scientist, she was able to create a Forbidden Fruit, and she gave it to the Langerak family as payment for sending her off to University.
Quinton loved playing music for all of them, and Ariana and Cori loved to dance to it. However, Cori and Quinton always had a hard time getting along, no matter how hard I tried. When everyone returned home, Melanie ended up giving birth to Michael Langerak. This meant she had 4 kids. Ariana, Cori, and Quinton all uploaded their resumes and all got their dream jobs. Melanie also became a grandparent to Abigail's daughter, Sheena Langerak. Michael soon aged up to toddler, and the Langeraks did the best they could to get him prepared for life.
Ariana had planted the Forbidden Fruit that Cori gave her, and this seed birthed a girl named Daisy Langerak. Of course, this added PlantSim genetics to the save. Quinton and Ariana were not married at the time, and since his genetics weren't part of Daisy, he only became her step-father upon marriage. Around this time, Toaster and L4U-RN fell in love as they both had the trait chips to allow them to do so. Soon, Daisy became a cute little, green haired toddler that looked like Ariana. Then, L4U-RN proposed to Toaster and they soon got married. For some dumb reason, I ended up kicking them out of the household, but it is what it is. I didn't quite realize it, but Quinton is actually a cousin to Dwight, so Quinton married a relative in a sense. I try not to think of it though, the game doesn't recognize that. Soon after, it was time for Michael to age up to a child.
Daisy would soon follow and she aged up to a child as well. She was the only child of Ariana's at the time, so it was her destiny to be the heir. Daisy and Michael had a great uncle/niece relationship, similar to how Melanie and Christian got along so well. Quinton then had his birthday where he aged up to adulthood. It wasn't long after that when Michael aged up. Then, I ended up pausing the save file for a bit to share a few past updates of things I never posted on the main story thread I have. They aren't actually considered canon to the save, so I'm not recapping them here. Then, Dwight had his elder birthday shortly after I resumed in the present. Emily came back as a playable ghost to rid the family of their werewolf powers, something I wished I hadn't done but it was too late to change it. And not long after this, Daisy aged up into a teenager, and was very similar in looks to how she is now as an adult. Most of this happened earlier this year, around January.
Michael fell in love with a pudding faced Sim named Irene. I ended up giving her a makeover because I felt she deserved it. She's actually prettier as an adult but not bad as a teenager. Abigail Langerak, Michael and Ariana's sister, gave birth to twins, which made the extended family even bigger. Soon after, the original triplets aged up to adults, and I invited the other two over so I could have the three of them share a birthday party.
***More happened after this, but I'll recap that later. Going to check something first.
Update on my cat: the anti-inflammatory properties of her antibiotic were probably what had her feeling really good the first few days, as pretty much day 3 she wasn't drinking much (still eating, at least) and kept squatting randomly as if she had a very sudden urge to pee. Took her back to the vet today, where she was able to get a urine sample and do an ultra sound (they do ultra sounds to find the location of the bladder so that urine samples go smoothly). During the ultra sound, she saw a mass by Daisy's (my cat's) bladder. It was about the size of her actual bladder, but she wasn't equipped to tell whether it was inside her bladder or just outside of it. She also did find some bacteria in her urine, so she gave me an oral antibiotic to give her that she knows is effective against that exact bacteria. After these 2 antibiotics run their course, we're to call and make an appointment for them to get a specialist up here that will be able to give her the necessary scans to see whether the mass is outside or inside of her bladder. If it's inside, it's inoperable and our only option would be to get her on anti-inflammatory pain meds to help it at least not bother her so much. If it's outside, they can do surgery to remove it and get it checked for cancer.
Life couldn't just make it a UTI this time, I guess. Anyway, we have a really good vet and I trust her and Daisy is such a good cat. I want to give her the best chance possible to live a good rest of her life, but anything like this is still scary, so keep my fur baby in your thoughts, please.
Decided that where the last recap post ended is where I'm continuing this save. Everything that happened in Riverview did not happen now, as long as this save is alright. The reason for this is that I didn't porter some Sims originally, so some were missing. However, the only real issue is that Robert wasn't born, Daisy won't marry Hal, and Carly Lucas wasn't born. This also works out well for me, because now I won't have to do the Sunset Valley story, and in a way, I can combine my descendants story with the Langerak save. To replace the planned Sunset Valley story, Carly will get a story of her own, possibly set in Hidden Springs. I'm going to have to be firm with myself and stick with something, and I think this is it. Kind of the same plan, just changed a bit. The original story thread will be discontinued, but the first three pages of it will be considered canon for this save. Eventually, it will have to move towns due to bloat, but that's okay.

Well, learned something I didn't know today. I guess that Master Controller has an option to dump a full genealogy of the town that can be imported into family tree sites. The option is called Export Genealogy, but I don't remember 100% how I got to it other than clicking the City Hall. Then, you have to make sure that file extensions show on the file, change it from .xml to .ged, then you can import it into the site. Saves a lot of time from how I was doing it, lol. Here is the one I redid for the Langerak save.

It's really not an FBI ghost story. Just a side quest while Mary is gone. She should be back if the resurrection works. It won't be attempted until the next full moon though.

I will keep you and her in my prayers, as well as my thoughts. My Smokey cat had a vascular tumor on his spleen. Apparently rare in cats and more common in dogs. Spleens can be removed so we did that and the tumor was removed as well. No guarantee by the vets though since the tumor was vascular. I had him another year. It was worth it.
Baltazar has accomplished his goal of building the Student Union. This building brought one more citizen to the town, the baratender. It's nice to finally have a place to hangout before the university is complete. Even if there isn't enough people in town yet, at least he can have a drink or a snack, play some games... The baratender doesn't like children, so she wouldn't be a good match for Baltazar.
In the meantime, while the family waits for Adam to complete the university by accomplishing his goal of building the 3rd building - the School of Science - Baltazar met Grace. They got married and have now a baby girl, Cassandra! 3rd generation on it's way There are so few girls in town that Baltazar only discovered that Grace is his mother's age after they got married, so they needed to hurry having a child.
Grace's LTW is Jack of All Trades. Oh my god, the worst LTW for someone living in a city that has no jobs. So i've decided she's going to work for a City Hall, Police Station and Military base combo. She'll need to master 3 skills, but she joined the family with one of them already mastered. Adam has a Young Again potion in his personal inventory and he tried to gift it to Grace. She'll need it, she's just a few days away from becoming an elder. But she's so snob that she rejected the gift twice. Adam will offer it to someone else. What a hard girl Baltazar married, she's snob and grumpy... But she's started to write some books and send them to a publisher somewhere else (in other town, i believe) and she's the only one bringing some money to the family.
Finally Adam built the School of Science. The University of Sunlite Tides is open! Only with Science degrees, but that's exactly what Baltazar and Eve wanted. They enrolled immediatly. In this school one can also earn some cash by accepting to be a test subject. No one in the family has tried it yet. I have no idea how much the school pays for this and what are the consequences, but i'll try it later for sure
The city is starting to shape with the University' Administration Centre, Student Union and School of Science.
My old laptop finally crashed after five long years. I didn't play The Sims for nearly 2 months. I play the mobile version, but it just wasn't the same. I had to get my new laptop fixed, just a week after buying it . But it came back earlier than expected, so I'm happy. SO now I have to start over from stratch.
@bekkasan Thank you I think surgery is often worth it. At the very least, even if they don't make it, you at least know you did all you could, ya know? But I have hope that this will all go smoothly and she'll be fine. Just seeing her not feeling well breaks my heart.

I actually hadn't planned to roll out Chapter 16 just yet, but I'm pretty sure it's good to go. I figured y'all would appreciate it too. And when you're trying to wrap up a story (which I have to keep reminding myself ) you gotta work quicker. Is it bad that I don't want to wrap it up so quickly though? There's still so much more that's supposed to happen. Anyhoo!

Chapter 16
Time passed. Three months to be exact. The twelve friends had now resided in the country town of Appaloosa for a little over six months. Half a year. They still hadn’t fulfilled the mysterious quest and returned home. It was beginning to feel like this “bubble” they were stuck in would be their permanent residence now.
However most of them decided that they just had to keep on living and not drown in the “What ifs” of the entire situation. For it would surely consume them and rob them of all they could learn and enjoy in this season of their lives. There was an ultimate reason the Wizard sent them here and all they could do was trust in that reason and be patient, no matter how hard it would be to do some days.
During those three months...
They celebrated the Fall birthdays among the group. The first birthday was Penny’s.
Harvey naturally took his love into a kiss before they grabbed a piece of cake.
“Happy birthday to the most beautiful woman and love of my life,” he afterward said with a beaming, love-filled expression. “Twenty-three never looked so good,” he winked.
Penny grinned, loving that he took her words previously and cleverly used them back at her. “Why thank you my dear. I look forward to seeing what you got me.”
“I hope you’ll like it. The other present I have for you, well...we’ll have to open that in a more private setting,” he whispered with a blush.
Penny’s eyes lit up. “Oh really?”
“Yeah.”
The thought excited her, but also produced some nervous butterflies. Did he get me lingerie? Oh my… Even though the two had gone the more traditional route in their courtship, they found themselves falling asleep together on many nights and it was becoming more and more difficult not to get a tiny bit intimate with each other. However they decided to hold true to saving intercourse for the wedding night. That’s what made it so exciting after all.
Next birthday they celebrated was Elliott’s.
For being the oldest of the group, he didn’t feel so down about turning “one year older and wiser too.” He liked becoming wiser.
“Make a wish!” Leah happily urged.
Sam and Sebastian turned and whispered to each other about what the man might possibly have to wish for at his age (thirty-six) and snorted when they saw him actually thinking about it.
Everyone clapped when the candles were blown out.
“What did you wish for?” Leah asked her man.
“Now babe, you know I can’t tell you. Or it won’t come true.”
“Oh you,” she said, playfully slapping at his shoulder. “So...you made it over the hump of the thirties and are on your way down to the forties. How do you feel?”
He shrugged. “Fine. Birthdays are just another day anymore. Besides, I’m not going to let my age define me.”
“Good answer,” she said, leaning in to tenderly kiss him.
“What is it?” she asked with a giggle since his eyes were staring down at her chest.
“I love these curls in your hair,” he answered, stroking one of them. “They’re beautiful. Like you.”
“Thank you.”
“Did you do your hair like this for me?”
“Well, it is a special occasion so...yes,” she winked.
He chuckled as he kissed her. “So how does your man look at thirty-six? Any different?”
“No,” she studied with affectionate eyes, “not a day older. You’re still gorgeous.”
He liked that answer.
“Do you think I should cut my hair eventually?”
“NO!”
He laughed at her swift reaction, loving how much she loved his hair. He was actually looking forward to how his wavy locks would look grey now.
The last birthday of the Fall season was Abigail’s. She was turning twenty-two.
The Wizard might’ve been watching the celebration from his cauldron with a bright smile, hardly believing his daughter was at such an age. She had truly grown up into one incredibly beautiful woman and as much as it seemed appropriate for him to scrutinize - and someday intimidate - her boyfriend, he couldn’t find any reason in his heart to do it. Sebastian was a good man; always her biggest supporter and now her protector. There was no one better, in any world, for his little girl.
After Abigail blew out the candles…
...and the cake was devoured, they all retreated to the living area to watch her open her gifts.
“Geez! I almost forgot to give you mine,” Sam said, stumbling as he rushed his gift over to her.
“Thank you Sam,” she giggled while taking it.
“Open it first?”
“Sure!”
“Thank you everyone!” Abigail joyfully expressed after opening the last present. “Those were the most thoughtful gifts ever! I loved them all!”
Everyone smiled, some saying, “You’re welcome.”
“Now,” she stood, “there’s...one more thing I want to say before we all go our separate ways for the day.” Her heart thumped nervously, yet excitedly.
For a moment the right introduction struggled to come. She squeezed her hands together below her waist, reassuring herself while gaining her composure. It was time. She couldn’t hold it in anymore.
“As great as all these gifts are,” she began, “the greatest birthday gift for me this year would be for all of you,” she clasped her hands to her heart, “to know the real me.” Tears welled up in her eyes.
All eyes fixated on her - including the Wizard’s - with curious expressions. Only Sebastian and Harvey knowingly smiled.
“I kept thinking it would be better to meet with you all individually about it, when I felt you were ready, but...in the spirit of my birthday right now, my heart is telling me that you all are ready.”
“What?” Sam naturally asked, feeling somewhat hurt that his best friend had some kind of secret he didn’t know about.
“Oh my goodness…,” Haley blurted out. “Are you coming out? Are you a lesbian?”
Most everyone turned and gave the blonde a stern look.
“What!?” she asked with her hands spread apart. “It’s a perfectly reasonable assumption!”
Sebastian’s eye twitched at Haley, as it often did. “If she were a lesbian would she be dating me?”
“Maybe,” she retorted.
“No,” Abigail quickly answered before things got off on the wrong track. “Though I can see how that sounded like I was ‘coming out’ Haley.”
“Thank you,” Haley appreciated.
“What is it Abby?” Sam encouraged. The curiosity was killing him.
Once again all eyes were glued on her.
“I,” she stammered, pinching the bridge of her nose. Haley sure killed the moment for her with that.
Sensing her anxiety, Harvey voiced, “If it helps for me to say this to the group Abby...I already know.” Penny looked at him curiously. His eyes told her, Sorry, I really wanted to tell you, but it wasn’t my place. She could read them.
“I do too,” Sebastian added.
“What!?” Shane firmly asked, before Sam did again.
“Okay, sorry,” Abigail started, gradually releasing a breath, then drawing it in again. “What I wanted to tell you all is...I’m a magic bearer...just like the Wizard. That’s who I really am.”
The mouths of those who didn’t know slowly dropped. The air in the room turned stale.
Abigail’s heart pounded, the reassurances within working to try and calm it. “And the Wizard,” she continued, “is my father.”
Now Harvey’s mouth dropped. “Okay that I didn’t know.”
Sebastian gave him a confirming nod.
“Surprise,” Abigail smiled, trying to ease the moment. She sat herself down.
“That…,” Shane was the first to speak, “explains so much.”
“Totally! So,” Haley addressed Abigail with a look of disgust, it seemed, “you’re saying that you’re a witch? One of the hea'thens?”
“Haley...,” Alex whispered, but closed his mouth. That was the harshest term to say in reference to the magic bearers.
“She’s not a hea'then,” Sebastian sternly countered before Abigail could respond. “Never!”
“But according to the customs in Pelican Town she is,” Haley said.
“Sc’rew Pelican Town!” he yelled, slapping at the air with his hand. “Banning the magic bearers and everything magic was a ridiculous decision to begin with and you all know it! A vain tradition of our pa'nsy parent’s big'oted and closed-minded generation! I can’t believe I fell for all the sh** we were taught about magic, and the Wizard, growing up and it is my biggest regret,” he looked over at his love with profound emotion in his eyes. “The Wizard never hurt anyone. Any sane person would know he didn’t kill the previous Mayor! Nothing about this quest he’s thrown us into has been harmful to us, it’s made us better. Magic is not evil, only the intentions of the person behind it. It’s high time the firmly held beliefs back home are done away with!”
“I agree!” Emily declared, gaining nods from everyone else except Haley.
“Look I’m not saying I disagree,” Haley saved, raising her palms up, “I’m just confirming what she’s actually saying here because,” she turned back to Abigail, “Abby, revealing yourself like this to us is a huge risk. I’m horrible at keeping secrets with my blabbermouth, especially when I've been drinking. If word accidentally got out back home, I don't even want to imagine what would happen to you. And honestly girl,” she paused, a lump forming in her throat, “I don’t want to be the one responsible for that. You’ve always been so nice to everyone. It’d be different in town without you. Granted you’ve always been a little weird, but now we all know why!”
Everyone chuckled.
Emily was proud to hear such heartfelt words coming from her sister.
“You really trust in all of us that much? In me?” Haley concluded by asking, having a very hard time believing it.
“I do,” Abigail sincerely replied. “And I believe in you Haley - all of you - to keep it safe.”
Haley gratefully smiled.
“Nothing's going to happen to Abby,” Sebastian stepped in to assure, “because we’ve got her back. And together we’re gonna pioneer a new age in Pelican Town!”
“YES!”
Abigail noticed that Sam said nothing, looking down at his hands with disappointment. She was pretty sure she knew why. “What’s wrong Sam?”
He looked up and didn’t exactly like being put on the spot but he answered anyway. “I can’t believe you never told me about your magic abilities Abby. I thought we were closer friends than that.”
“We are close friends,” she assured, “and this was not an easy thing for me to reveal, even to Seb!”
“It’s true,” his buddy confirmed.
“And I told Harvey because he couldn’t find a medical reason for why I passed out that one day and he practically forced me to tell him why.” She winked at Harvey for good measure. “Honestly, you were the next person I was going to tell; because we’re so close.”
That made Sam feel a little better.
“So wait,” Haley chimed in again, “if you’re the Wizard’s daughter, then do you know what this quest is really about? Has he told you anything about it using, what is it, telepathy or whatevs?”
“I wish I could say yes, but...no,” Abigail revealed. “I don’t know anything. I’m just as much in the dark about it as the rest of you.”
The disappointed sighs couldn’t be held back.
“So you can communicate with him telepathically then?” Maru confirmed. She had millions of questions for the Wizard about this quest.
“Yes, in a way. He only speaks to me when he wishes. I can speak to him, but I don’t always get a response. It’s all on his own terms.”
“Kinda like God,” Penny humorously said.
“A little bit,” Abigail chuckled. Of course it’d be on his terms…,Maru muttered within.
“Hey! Why don’t you show us some of your magic!?” Emily excitedly asked.
The others were more than down with that and told Abigail so through their grins and nods.
“Oh, uh, okay,” she said, standing up. Nervous butterflies were still present in her stomach. It would take time for those to permanently go away.
Positioning herself a few feet away from everyone, she thought of a safe spell to cast indoors. Once she had one in mind, she got herself in the zone.
Closing her eyes she whispered the spell and opened them while a faint yellow glow formed at the center of her body...
...and grew brighter and brighter until it fully encompassed her. She almost looked angelic.
Chuckling at everyone’s mesmerized, yet confused, looks, Abigail revealed, “It’s a protective barrier. Magical armor basically.” They all nodded. “Guess that’s a little boring...you might like this better,” she grinned as she conjured up an apple in her hand.
“Oooooh!” Everyone expressed.
She tossed the apple over to Sam to which he swiftly caught. “AWESOME!” he cried out, eyeballing its perfection.
“That is amazing!” Emily squealed.
“You’re amazing Abby,” Leah added. “Wow. I can hardly believe it.”
“Thank you everyone,” Abigail said with a sniff, whispering another spell to remove the magical armor around herself. She didn’t know how the tears escaped her eyes without her knowing, but they did. She wiped them away.
Noticing, Emily asked, “What’s wrong sweetie?”
“Nothing,” Abigail sniffed again, giving a dismissive wave. “Nothing at all. I’ve never felt so happy!” More tears streamed down her cheeks as she joyfully sobbed. “To be able to be my true self around you...my friends. My family.”
“Aww, come here girl,” Emily tearfully beckoned with outstretched arms. Abigail gladly went in to them and got a big squeeze. The others stood from their seats, fully intending to do the same.
“Come on everyone, group hug!” Emily commanded.
They all tried to hug Abigail at once, but it proved difficult and would surely smother her. So instead they all locked arms and surrounded her with one big air hug.
Abigail stood in the middle and pretended to hug them all back, feeling an immeasurable amount of love and acceptance from each and every one of them. Her greatest dream had finally come true and she wanted to hold onto the moment for as long as she could. “I love you guys!”
Afterward each person said a little something to Abigail, some giving her another hug before they went on their way to do whatever they had planned for the remainder of the day. Shane stood off to the side until they were all gone.
“They’re a great group aren’t they?” he finally said to Abigail.
“They really are,” she happily sighed. “It’s so wonderful how close we’ve all become since being here.”
“Yeah.”
“So,” Shane began as he approached her, “guess I wasn’t too far off in thinking you were a Wiccan huh?” *
She chuckled, remembering. “Maybe a little. I do practice magic, but I’m also a believer in God. So I’m not sure what people would call that.”
“I don’t know either,” he shrugged. “Really I didn’t know for sure if you were one or not, I was just being mean when I said it. Sorry about that…”
“It’s okay. It kinda freaked me out a little when you called me that honestly. Like you knew something...” She studied him.
Shane found it difficult to meet her gaze for a moment. “No, but now I’m beginning to wonder if I did...and what I saw you do wasn’t an illusion from my drunken mind…”
Her eyebrow rose. “What was that?”
He cleared his throat. “I was stammering home from the Saloon the first night I arrived in Pelican Town, trying to come to terms with my new life in such a h***hole, so of course I was totally wasted…”
“I passed by the graveyard and saw you…,” he tried not to let a smile escape, “eating a bunch of colorful rocks!” He failed.
Abigail laughed. “Oh my GOSH!”
“It was YOU who started that rumor!?”
“Yeah, it was me,” he answered proudly.
Abigail just shook her head, holding the grin.
“I didn’t know it was going to spread like it did...but seriously were you actually eating gemstones? Cause now I’m wondering if it’s some magic related thing like it replenishes your internal mana or something.”
“No,” she laughed. Okay that’s awesome! “That’s not how it works, but yes, I was eating them.”
“No sh**.”
“Yep. I was trying to turn myself into a dragon and eating gemstone dust was all part of the transformation process. Needless to say it didn’t work. It was much too advanced magic for my novice self back then.”
“Wow. How could you do that to yourself?”
“I was desperate, okay! It’d been a rough day. Don’t judge me...” She playfully frowned.
“No judgement here, but it sure makes me question your mental health at the time though…”
“It might’ve been a little off, but...I’m sure you understand.”
“Absolutely!”
“Gosh it’s always driven me crazy wondering who started that rumor! I was afraid my secret had been revealed to someone. I’m so glad it was you and not someone else back home.”
“I’m glad it was me too,” he smiled. “You know...considering…”
Abigail couldn’t help what she did next. She gave him a hug.
Shane still wasn’t the hugging type, but all the love and friendship in the air today certainly warranted it.
“I have to ask,” Abigail began as she broke their embrace. “If you’d stuck around a little longer that night, you would’ve seen me cast magic. If you had...would you have told everyone that I was a witch?”
“I dunno,” he shrugged. “I might have since I was such a royal je’rk back then…I don’t really care to revisit that part of myself.”
“I understand,” she nodded. “I guess everything worked out for the best.”
“Yeah. Things are great now. I’m better. Better than I’ve ever been before.” He smiled. “Guess we all owe your real dad a debt of gratitude for this quest business don’t we?”
She smiled brightly at him. “Yeah. We sure do.”
When Shane stepped away, Abigail glanced up at the ceiling and said in her mind, I can’t wait to see you again dad.
I can’t wait to see you too, came the unexpected, immediate response.
Hearing his voice made her eyes well up with joyful tears again. She placed a hand over her touched heart. I love you. Is it too early for me to say that?
No. I love you too. Happy Birthday my dear Abigail. I’m so proud of you.

Flashback to Chapter 4; after the big discussion about the quest
Shane, keeping his distance from the group as always, wiped the sweat from his brow and glared while saying, “This blows! I’m gonna go find me a Bar!”
“I really don’t think that’s a good idea,” Abigail said, overhearing.
“Mind your own business Wiccan! I can do what I want!”
“She’s right Shane,” Harvey concurred, coming over with Emily following behind him. “We still don’t know what dangers might be out there so it’s even more unwise to go venturing out in the dark, and alone. You can join some of us who are investigating the town tomorrow and we’ll find a Bar then, alright? You can wait.”
Shane folded his arms with an eye-roll and muttered, “Yeah, whatever.”

I'm loving this challenge! I don't want to strategize too much, i want to decide what they'll work for according to what they wish for in life, but aanyway there's always a bit of strategy in this challenge, i have to be aware of what they can accomplish in the early stages... That was my previous mistake, trying to master the charisma skill in the first generation... as soon as the school of science is ready and someone applies to a degree i believe there will be lots of students in town

Emily Jones was a witch that I made just for fun over a year ago. I never had planned to share this save here, due to the fact I was having some financial issues at the time, which I won't go into except for the fact I gave up internet (and the forums) because of that. Also, my computer at the time was a laptop that was not really made to play games on. So I cut down on what EP's I would use, and created a save with Emily that would work well with it. Emily quickly became rich when an apple became a Tiberium gem. Soon after, she met and fell in love with Christopher Steel and they had a child named Eric. Sometime after Eric was older, they had another child they named Jessica.
When Emily and Christopher were elders, Christopher decided to use some of the Lifetime Happiness points he received from accomplishing his Lifetime Wish to clone himself. Christian Jones was a child, due to the way cloning at the Science Lab works. By this time, Eric was married to Fawn Ursine, Jared and Claire's daughter. Eric and Fawn also had a daughter named Melanie by this time. Here is a spoiler for their pictures.

Most of the family were at the pool one day, but Fawn wanted to cheat on Eric, so I had her flirt with her ex, Sam Sekemoto. Christian, a child at the time, drowned in the pool. This caused Fawn not to cheat anymore, and Christopher and Emily used their resources to resurrect him. Eventually, Melanie became a werewolf by choice, and when Christian became a teen, I sent him off to boarding school. However, I brought him back before he graduated. Jessica was moved out by now, and she already had married Tommy Bunch. They also had three beautiful daughters, but to see that, read the full story.
Since I chose Eric as the heir when Emily passed away, Melanie would be his heir apparent. She was attracted to a Sim named Garry Sekemoto, who was Zelda Mae and Leighton Sekemoto's child. However, young Garry was attracted to Carina Alvi, a granddaughter to Iqbal Alvi and the Bunch's. It wouldn't matter anyhow, Melanie scared the heck out of Garry when he witnessed her transform into her werewolf form on the full moon. With the wolf taking control, Melanie ran off into the wilderness. However, those instincts told her their was a stranger at her house, so she went to investigate. Lo and behold, it was a teenaged boy named Dwight Langerak, and their was some instant attraction.
Dwight is VJ Alvi and Kaylynn Langerak's son, and a cousin to Carina Alvi. He was born a supernatural fan, so that was probably why he and Melanie got along so well. Melanie even kissed him in her werewolf form, and he liked it a lot, even though she was embarrassed when she went normal in the morning. However, Melanie already had a boyfriend named Hiram Bunch. She happened to catch him cheating on her with her aunt, Marisol Frio. She broke up with him, and then started to date Dwight. Soon, tragedy hit the family as Emily Jones passed away in the backyard. Christian soon became a young adult and he moved out of the family. He never did get married, he just woohooed the women, then went on to another one.
He did become friends with Dwight Langerak, who became an young adult around the same time. Melanie soon followed, and she turned Dwight into a werewolf like her. I had just moved Dwight into the family prior to her birthday.
Both Dwight and Melanie had a passion for martial arts, and they would often train together. They both got quite good at it, actually. Soon, Dwight and Melanie were married, with their family in attendance. This would lead to the events that caused me to change the save name from Jones to Langerak. Fawn aged up to elder the same night as her daughter's wedding. However, tragedy would strike again shortly before Melanie gave birth as Christopher followed his wife into the Netherworld. This was all about the time that I got a used gaming computer from my brother, and I didn't have to deal with lag anymore.
Eric found out that his parents had a bot building machine upstairs, so he began to learn to use it. He never thought it would end up leading to his visit to the future. He was able to build his first Plumbot, a female model named L4U-RN. She basically became a maid around the house. A man named Emit Relevart appeared out of a time portal shortly after. Emit knew that Eric was the inventor of the first Plumbot, so he wanted Eric to see how important his creation would become in the future. Upon his return to the past, Eric became the grandfather to triplets named Abigail, Ariana, and Evan Langerak.
***This recap is just to remind everyone where the story started, and for those who don't want to read five pages in the story thread section of the forum.
Raising triplets was not the easiest for Dwight and Melanie, but they made the best of it. Eric and Fawn both took their turns with their grandbabies as well, so this helped them out. L4U-RN did her part by helping with the very small garden the family had. Melanie decided to be a stay at home mother, so she began to write books for a living. She wasn't able to be self-employed officially, as I didn't have the right EP installed for that. Shortly after, Eric had his elder birthday, and it was becoming clear that Dwight and Melanie's turn to run the family was coming up quickly.
Soon, the triplets would age up into toddlers with werewolf tendencies. This was actually a fun time for me, as I never had werewolf triplets before. The triplets needed to learn their skills, so everyone had to take their turns. It took time, but they were able to learn them all. They all had Imaginary Friends, but I never made any of them real. Around this time, I added a random fairy I created named Rain Forest to the save file. I didn't know she'd eventually tie into the family, but this would be a while. Grandpa Eric made sure to read all the toddler skill books to his grandchildren, something I have been trying to remember to do. Between all of these things, the triplets aged up successfully into children. Now things would get a bit easier, mostly because they'd be in school now. With their children being older, Dwight and Melanie decided to actually visit China to learn some advanced martial arts. They also did some tomb raiding.
Back in Sunset Valley, Eric gave L4U-RN the best color scheme she had had. Previously, she was metallic colored, then was red, black, and white. But he decided hot pink and white fit her better since she was a feminine Plumbot. I started to put some more EP's into play again, so now the family could enjoy seasonal activities at the festivals, as well as other places. One of the Alvi descendants, Brianna Alvi, asked Dwight to visit China again, so he took Melanie with him as well. Fawn died not long after the trip to China, leaving Eric and the others devastated. However, Eric did have a pillow fight with the Grim Reaper. An alien came to visit L4U-RN, the first one the family ever encountered.
The triplets tried to learn as many skills as they could, mostly just so they'd be well-rounded Sims. At this time, Eric created another Plumbot named Toaster. Toaster disconnected himself from the family tree, and he moved out on his own. This was done to add a Plumbot to the town. Then, it was time for the triplets birthday party, where they aged up into two beautiful teenaged girls, and one handsome teenaged boy. This is when they were sent to Egypt for the heir competition. They fished for several hours, and Evan made the most money from this. He was in the lead to be the heir. Then the following day, they transformed into werewolves and spent the rest of the time hunting. Between the two competitions, Ariana raised the most money and was crowned the heir. I often wonder what would have happened if another had won, but I'm not going to turn back the time machine to find out.
The triplets were very close to each other, even after the heir was chosen. Ariana was the first one to find a love interest in Quinton Sekemoto, her future husband. She almost got with a Goth but that fell through.
At a Spooky Day party, Eric decided to dress like a rock star. Somehow, this caused Brianna Alvi to be attracted to him, and they would eventually date for a short time. Melanie took Ariana on a trip to France since they were both Emily's heir apparents. Eric passed away upon Melanie and Ariana's return home. This meant that the family was now going to be known as the Langerak Family, something that won't change for a while. Finally, Ariana had the bravery to ask Quinton out and he said yes. They were now going steady, and the funny thing was that Ariana's mom had a crush on Quinton's dad before she got with Dwight. Being a werewolf, Dwight lived longer than normal Sims, so he just now became an adult with a midlife crisis. Then it was time for the triplets to age up. Evan ended up meeting Rain Forest, and they began to date after her husband passed away. She was several weeks older than he was by this time, being added in when he was a baby or a toddler. Abigail got with a man named Andrea. Both Rain and Andrea would take the Langerak name as well.
Now that Evan and Abigail had both moved out, I was focusing on Dwight, Melanie, and Ariana, until Quinton moved in with them. Quinton got a bad boy makeover due to the traits he had, but he would prove to be a good father, and a good husband. However, a baby was coming soon, and it wasn't theirs. Dwight got Melanie pregnant again, and she had her fourth child, a son named Michael.
Being the heir to a wealthy family meant that Ariana didn't have to follow the rules that society set, and she proposed to Quinton who said yes. Melanie had to tell Dwight that she was pregnant, and he was ecstatic. Then, @CravenLestat sent me a Sim he created named Cori Lucas. She was a very poor Sim in my game, so the Langerak's took her in. They paid for her to accomplish her dreams in University, along with Ariana and Quinton. Ariana and Cori quickly became the best of friends, even though Cori is the shy and quiet type. Cori was a very good scientist, she was able to create a Forbidden Fruit, and she gave it to the Langerak family as payment for sending her off to University.
Quinton loved playing music for all of them, and Ariana and Cori loved to dance to it. However, Cori and Quinton always had a hard time getting along, no matter how hard I tried. When everyone returned home, Melanie ended up giving birth to Michael Langerak. This meant she had 4 kids. Ariana, Cori, and Quinton all uploaded their resumes and all got their dream jobs. Melanie also became a grandparent to Abigail's daughter, Sheena Langerak. Michael soon aged up to toddler, and the Langeraks did the best they could to get him prepared for life.
Ariana had planted the Forbidden Fruit that Cori gave her, and this seed birthed a girl named Daisy Langerak. Of course, this added PlantSim genetics to the save. Quinton and Ariana were not married at the time, and since his genetics weren't part of Daisy, he only became her step-father upon marriage. Around this time, Toaster and L4U-RN fell in love as they both had the trait chips to allow them to do so. Soon, Daisy became a cute little, green haired toddler that looked like Ariana. Then, L4U-RN proposed to Toaster and they soon got married. For some dumb reason, I ended up kicking them out of the household, but it is what it is. I didn't quite realize it, but Quinton is actually a cousin to Dwight, so Quinton married a relative in a sense. I try not to think of it though, the game doesn't recognize that. Soon after, it was time for Michael to age up to a child.
Daisy would soon follow and she aged up to a child as well. She was the only child of Ariana's at the time, so it was her destiny to be the heir. Daisy and Michael had a great uncle/niece relationship, similar to how Melanie and Christian got along so well. Quinton then had his birthday where he aged up to adulthood. It wasn't long after that when Michael aged up. Then, I ended up pausing the save file for a bit to share a few past updates of things I never posted on the main story thread I have. They aren't actually considered canon to the save, so I'm not recapping them here. Then, Dwight had his elder birthday shortly after I resumed in the present. Emily came back as a playable ghost to rid the family of their werewolf powers, something I wished I hadn't done but it was too late to change it. And not long after this, Daisy aged up into a teenager, and was very similar in looks to how she is now as an adult. Most of this happened earlier this year, around January.
Michael fell in love with a pudding faced Sim named Irene. I ended up giving her a makeover because I felt she deserved it. She's actually prettier as an adult but not bad as a teenager. Abigail Langerak, Michael and Ariana's sister, gave birth to twins, which made the extended family even bigger. Soon after, the original triplets aged up to adults, and I invited the other two over so I could have the three of them share a birthday party.

It's really not an FBI ghost story. Just a side quest while Mary is gone. She should be back if the resurrection works. It won't be attempted until the next full moon though.

I will keep you and her in my prayers, as well as my thoughts. My Smokey cat had a vascular tumor on his spleen. Apparently rare in cats and more common in dogs. Spleens can be removed so we did that and the tumor was removed as well. No guarantee by the vets though since the tumor was vascular. I had him another year. It was worth it.

My network is out this afternoon, so Im just playing sims.
Baltazar has accomplished his goal of building the Student Union. This building brought one more citizen to the town, the baratender. It's nice to finally have a place to hangout before the university is complete. Even if there isn't enough people in town yet, at least he can have a drink or a snack, play some games... The baratender doesn't like children, so she wouldn't be a good match for Baltazar.
In the meantime, while the family waits for Adam to complete the university by accomplishing his goal of building the 3rd building - the School of Science - Baltazar met Grace. They got married and have now a baby girl, Cassandra! 3rd generation on it's way
Grace's LTW is Jack of All Trades. Oh my god, the worst LTW for someone living in a city that has no jobs. So i've decided she's going to work for a City Hall, Police Station and Military base combo. She'll need to master 3 skills, but she joined the family with one of them already mastered. Adam has a Young Again potion in his personal inventory and he tried to gift it to Grace. She'll need it, she's just a few days away from becoming an elder. But she's so snob that she rejected the gift twice. Adam will offer it to someone else. What a hard girl Baltazar married, she's snob and grumpy... But she's started to write some books and send them to a publisher somewhere else (in other town, i believe) and she's the only one bringing some money to the family.
Finally Adam built the School of Science. The University of Sunlite Tides is open! Only with Science degrees, but that's exactly what Baltazar and Eve wanted. They enrolled immediatly. In this school one can also earn some cash by accepting to be a test subject. No one in the family has tried it yet. I have no idea how much the school pays for this and what are the consequences, but i'll try it later for sure
The city is starting to shape with the University' Administration Centre, Student Union and School of Science.

Pelican Town to Sims Town
Chapter 16
Time passed. Three months to be exact. The twelve friends had now resided in the country town of Appaloosa for a little over six months. Half a year. They still hadn’t fulfilled the mysterious quest and returned home. It was beginning to feel like this “bubble” they were stuck in would be their permanent residence now.
However most of them decided that they just had to keep on living and not drown in the “What ifs” of the entire situation. For it would surely consume them and rob them of all they could learn and enjoy in this season of their lives. There was an ultimate reason the Wizard sent them here and all they could do was trust in that reason and be patient, no matter how hard it would be to do some days.
During those three months...
They celebrated the Fall birthdays among the group. The first birthday was Penny’s.
Harvey naturally took his love into a kiss before they grabbed a piece of cake.
“Happy birthday to the most beautiful woman and love of my life,” he afterward said with a beaming, love-filled expression. “Twenty-three never looked so good,” he winked.
Penny grinned, loving that he took her words previously and cleverly used them back at her. “Why thank you my dear. I look forward to seeing what you got me.”
“I hope you’ll like it. The other present I have for you, well...we’ll have to open that in a more private setting,” he whispered with a blush.
Penny’s eyes lit up. “Oh really?”
“Yeah.”
The thought excited her, but also produced some nervous butterflies. Did he get me lingerie? Oh my… Even though the two had gone the more traditional route in their courtship, they found themselves falling asleep together on many nights and it was becoming more and more difficult not to get a tiny bit intimate with each other. However they decided to hold true to saving intercourse for the wedding night. That’s what made it so exciting after all.
Next birthday they celebrated was Elliott’s.
For being the oldest of the group, he didn’t feel so down about turning “one year older and wiser too.” He liked becoming wiser.
“Make a wish!” Leah happily urged.
Sam and Sebastian turned and whispered to each other about what the man might possibly have to wish for at his age (thirty-six) and snorted when they saw him actually thinking about it.
Everyone clapped when the candles were blown out.
“What did you wish for?” Leah asked her man.
“Now babe, you know I can’t tell you. Or it won’t come true.”
“Oh you,” she said, playfully slapping at his shoulder. “So...you made it over the hump of the thirties and are on your way down to the forties. How do you feel?”
He shrugged. “Fine. Birthdays are just another day anymore. Besides, I’m not going to let my age define me.”
“Good answer,” she said, leaning in to tenderly kiss him.
“What is it?” she asked with a giggle since his eyes were staring down at her chest.
“I love these curls in your hair,” he answered, stroking one of them. “They’re beautiful. Like you.”
“Thank you.”
“Did you do your hair like this for me?”
“Well, it is a special occasion so...yes,” she winked.
He chuckled as he kissed her. “So how does your man look at thirty-six? Any different?”
“No,” she studied with affectionate eyes, “not a day older. You’re still gorgeous.”
He liked that answer.
“Do you think I should cut my hair eventually?”
“NO!”
He laughed at her swift reaction, loving how much she loved his hair. He was actually looking forward to how his wavy locks would look grey now.
The last birthday of the Fall season was Abigail’s. She was turning twenty-two.
The Wizard might’ve been watching the celebration from his cauldron with a bright smile, hardly believing his daughter was at such an age. She had truly grown up into one incredibly beautiful woman and as much as it seemed appropriate for him to scrutinize - and someday intimidate - her boyfriend, he couldn’t find any reason in his heart to do it. Sebastian was a good man; always her biggest supporter and now her protector. There was no one better, in any world, for his little girl.
After Abigail blew out the candles…
...and the cake was devoured, they all retreated to the living area to watch her open her gifts.
“Geez! I almost forgot to give you mine,” Sam said, stumbling as he rushed his gift over to her.
“Thank you Sam,” she giggled while taking it.
“Open it first?”
“Sure!”
“Thank you everyone!” Abigail joyfully expressed after opening the last present. “Those were the most thoughtful gifts ever! I loved them all!”
Everyone smiled, some saying, “You’re welcome.”
“Now,” she stood, “there’s...one more thing I want to say before we all go our separate ways for the day.” Her heart thumped nervously, yet excitedly.
For a moment the right introduction struggled to come. She squeezed her hands together below her waist, reassuring herself while gaining her composure. It was time. She couldn’t hold it in anymore.
“As great as all these gifts are,” she began, “the greatest birthday gift for me this year would be for all of you,” she clasped her hands to her heart, “to know the real me.” Tears welled up in her eyes.
All eyes fixated on her - including the Wizard’s - with curious expressions. Only Sebastian and Harvey knowingly smiled.
“I kept thinking it would be better to meet with you all individually about it, when I felt you were ready, but...in the spirit of my birthday right now, my heart is telling me that you all are ready.”
“What?” Sam naturally asked, feeling somewhat hurt that his best friend had some kind of secret he didn’t know about.
“Oh my goodness…,” Haley blurted out. “Are you coming out? Are you a lesbian?”
Most everyone turned and gave the blonde a stern look.
“What!?” she asked with her hands spread apart. “It’s a perfectly reasonable assumption!”
Sebastian’s eye twitched at Haley, as it often did. “If she were a lesbian would she be dating me?”
“Maybe,” she retorted.
“No,” Abigail quickly answered before things got off on the wrong track. “Though I can see how that sounded like I was ‘coming out’ Haley.”
“Thank you,” Haley appreciated.
“What is it Abby?” Sam encouraged. The curiosity was killing him.
Once again all eyes were glued on her.
“I,” she stammered, pinching the bridge of her nose. Haley sure killed the moment for her with that.
Sensing her anxiety, Harvey voiced, “If it helps for me to say this to the group Abby...I already know.” Penny looked at him curiously. His eyes told her, Sorry, I really wanted to tell you, but it wasn’t my place. She could read them.
“I do too,” Sebastian added.
“What!?” Shane firmly asked, before Sam did again.
“Okay, sorry,” Abigail started, gradually releasing a breath, then drawing it in again. “What I wanted to tell you all is...I’m a magic bearer...just like the Wizard. That’s who I really am.”
The mouths of those who didn’t know slowly dropped. The air in the room turned stale.
Abigail’s heart pounded, the reassurances within working to try and calm it. “And the Wizard,” she continued, “is my father.”
Now Harvey’s mouth dropped. “Okay that I didn’t know.”
Sebastian gave him a confirming nod.
“Surprise,” Abigail smiled, trying to ease the moment. She sat herself down.
“That…,” Shane was the first to speak, “explains so much.”
“Totally! So,” Haley addressed Abigail with a look of disgust, it seemed, “you’re saying that you’re a witch? One of the hea'thens?”
“Haley...,” Alex whispered, but closed his mouth. That was the harshest term to say in reference to the magic bearers.
“She’s not a hea'then,” Sebastian sternly countered before Abigail could respond. “Never!”
“But according to the customs in Pelican Town she is,” Haley said.
“Sc’rew Pelican Town!” he yelled, slapping at the air with his hand. “Banning the magic bearers and everything magic was a ridiculous decision to begin with and you all know it! A vain tradition of our pa'nsy parent’s big'oted and closed-minded generation! I can’t believe I fell for all the sh** we were taught about magic, and the Wizard, growing up and it is my biggest regret,” he looked over at his love with profound emotion in his eyes. “The Wizard never hurt anyone. Any sane person would know he didn’t kill the previous Mayor! Nothing about this quest he’s thrown us into has been harmful to us, it’s made us better. Magic is not evil, only the intentions of the person behind it. It’s high time the firmly held beliefs back home are done away with!”
“I agree!” Emily declared, gaining nods from everyone else except Haley.
“Look I’m not saying I disagree,” Haley saved, raising her palms up, “I’m just confirming what she’s actually saying here because,” she turned back to Abigail, “Abby, revealing yourself like this to us is a huge risk. I’m horrible at keeping secrets with my blabbermouth, especially when I've been drinking. If word accidentally got out back home, I don't even want to imagine what would happen to you. And honestly girl,” she paused, a lump forming in her throat, “I don’t want to be the one responsible for that. You’ve always been so nice to everyone. It’d be different in town without you. Granted you’ve always been a little weird, but now we all know why!”
Everyone chuckled.
Emily was proud to hear such heartfelt words coming from her sister.
“You really trust in all of us that much? In me?” Haley concluded by asking, having a very hard time believing it.
“I do,” Abigail sincerely replied. “And I believe in you Haley - all of you - to keep it safe.”
Haley gratefully smiled.
“Nothing's going to happen to Abby,” Sebastian stepped in to assure, “because we’ve got her back. And together we’re gonna pioneer a new age in Pelican Town!”
“YES!”
Abigail noticed that Sam said nothing, looking down at his hands with disappointment. She was pretty sure she knew why. “What’s wrong Sam?”
He looked up and didn’t exactly like being put on the spot but he answered anyway. “I can’t believe you never told me about your magic abilities Abby. I thought we were closer friends than that.”
“We are close friends,” she assured, “and this was not an easy thing for me to reveal, even to Seb!”
“It’s true,” his buddy confirmed.
“And I told Harvey because he couldn’t find a medical reason for why I passed out that one day and he practically forced me to tell him why.” She winked at Harvey for good measure. “Honestly, you were the next person I was going to tell; because we’re so close.”
That made Sam feel a little better.
“So wait,” Haley chimed in again, “if you’re the Wizard’s daughter, then do you know what this quest is really about? Has he told you anything about it using, what is it, telepathy or whatevs?”
“I wish I could say yes, but...no,” Abigail revealed. “I don’t know anything. I’m just as much in the dark about it as the rest of you.”
The disappointed sighs couldn’t be held back.
“So you can communicate with him telepathically then?” Maru confirmed. She had millions of questions for the Wizard about this quest.
“Yes, in a way. He only speaks to me when he wishes. I can speak to him, but I don’t always get a response. It’s all on his own terms.”
“Kinda like God,” Penny humorously said.
“A little bit,” Abigail chuckled.
Of course it’d be on his terms…,Maru muttered within.
“Hey! Why don’t you show us some of your magic!?” Emily excitedly asked.
The others were more than down with that and told Abigail so through their grins and nods.
“Oh, uh, okay,” she said, standing up. Nervous butterflies were still present in her stomach. It would take time for those to permanently go away.
Positioning herself a few feet away from everyone, she thought of a safe spell to cast indoors. Once she had one in mind, she got herself in the zone.
Closing her eyes she whispered the spell and opened them while a faint yellow glow formed at the center of her body...
...and grew brighter and brighter until it fully encompassed her. She almost looked angelic.
Chuckling at everyone’s mesmerized, yet confused, looks, Abigail revealed, “It’s a protective barrier. Magical armor basically.” They all nodded. “Guess that’s a little boring...you might like this better,” she grinned as she conjured up an apple in her hand.
“Oooooh!” Everyone expressed.
She tossed the apple over to Sam to which he swiftly caught. “AWESOME!” he cried out, eyeballing its perfection.
“That is amazing!” Emily squealed.
“You’re amazing Abby,” Leah added. “Wow. I can hardly believe it.”
“Thank you everyone,” Abigail said with a sniff, whispering another spell to remove the magical armor around herself. She didn’t know how the tears escaped her eyes without her knowing, but they did. She wiped them away.
Noticing, Emily asked, “What’s wrong sweetie?”
“Nothing,” Abigail sniffed again, giving a dismissive wave. “Nothing at all. I’ve never felt so happy!” More tears streamed down her cheeks as she joyfully sobbed. “To be able to be my true self around you...my friends. My family.”
“Aww, come here girl,” Emily tearfully beckoned with outstretched arms. Abigail gladly went in to them and got a big squeeze. The others stood from their seats, fully intending to do the same.
“Come on everyone, group hug!” Emily commanded.
They all tried to hug Abigail at once, but it proved difficult and would surely smother her. So instead they all locked arms and surrounded her with one big air hug.
Abigail stood in the middle and pretended to hug them all back, feeling an immeasurable amount of love and acceptance from each and every one of them. Her greatest dream had finally come true and she wanted to hold onto the moment for as long as she could. “I love you guys!”
Afterward each person said a little something to Abigail, some giving her another hug before they went on their way to do whatever they had planned for the remainder of the day. Shane stood off to the side until they were all gone.
“They’re a great group aren’t they?” he finally said to Abigail.
“They really are,” she happily sighed. “It’s so wonderful how close we’ve all become since being here.”
“Yeah.”
“So,” Shane began as he approached her, “guess I wasn’t too far off in thinking you were a Wiccan huh?” *
She chuckled, remembering. “Maybe a little. I do practice magic, but I’m also a believer in God. So I’m not sure what people would call that.”
“I don’t know either,” he shrugged. “Really I didn’t know for sure if you were one or not, I was just being mean when I said it. Sorry about that…”
“It’s okay. It kinda freaked me out a little when you called me that honestly. Like you knew something...” She studied him.
Shane found it difficult to meet her gaze for a moment. “No, but now I’m beginning to wonder if I did...and what I saw you do wasn’t an illusion from my drunken mind…”
Her eyebrow rose. “What was that?”
He cleared his throat. “I was stammering home from the Saloon the first night I arrived in Pelican Town, trying to come to terms with my new life in such a h***hole, so of course I was totally wasted…”
“I passed by the graveyard and saw you…,” he tried not to let a smile escape, “eating a bunch of colorful rocks!” He failed.
Abigail laughed. “Oh my GOSH!”
“It was YOU who started that rumor!?”
“Yeah, it was me,” he answered proudly.
Abigail just shook her head, holding the grin.
“I didn’t know it was going to spread like it did...but seriously were you actually eating gemstones? Cause now I’m wondering if it’s some magic related thing like it replenishes your internal mana or something.”
“No,” she laughed. Okay that’s awesome! “That’s not how it works, but yes, I was eating them.”
“No sh**.”
“Yep. I was trying to turn myself into a dragon and eating gemstone dust was all part of the transformation process. Needless to say it didn’t work. It was much too advanced magic for my novice self back then.”
“Wow. How could you do that to yourself?”
“I was desperate, okay! It’d been a rough day. Don’t judge me...” She playfully frowned.
“No judgement here, but it sure makes me question your mental health at the time though…”
“It might’ve been a little off, but...I’m sure you understand.”
“Absolutely!”
“Gosh it’s always driven me crazy wondering who started that rumor! I was afraid my secret had been revealed to someone. I’m so glad it was you and not someone else back home.”
“I’m glad it was me too,” he smiled. “You know...considering…”
Abigail couldn’t help what she did next. She gave him a hug.
Shane still wasn’t the hugging type, but all the love and friendship in the air today certainly warranted it.
“I have to ask,” Abigail began as she broke their embrace. “If you’d stuck around a little longer that night, you would’ve seen me cast magic. If you had...would you have told everyone that I was a witch?”
“I dunno,” he shrugged. “I might have since I was such a royal je’rk back then…I don’t really care to revisit that part of myself.”
“I understand,” she nodded. “I guess everything worked out for the best.”
“Yeah. Things are great now. I’m better. Better than I’ve ever been before.” He smiled. “Guess we all owe your real dad a debt of gratitude for this quest business don’t we?”
She smiled brightly at him. “Yeah. We sure do.”
When Shane stepped away, Abigail glanced up at the ceiling and said in her mind, I can’t wait to see you again dad.
I can’t wait to see you too, came the unexpected, immediate response.
Hearing his voice made her eyes well up with joyful tears again. She placed a hand over her touched heart. I love you. Is it too early for me to say that?
No. I love you too. Happy Birthday my dear Abigail. I’m so proud of you.

Shane, keeping his distance from the group as always, wiped the sweat from his brow and glared while saying, “This blows! I’m gonna go find me a Bar!”
“I really don’t think that’s a good idea,” Abigail said, overhearing.
“Mind your own business Wiccan! I can do what I want!”
“She’s right Shane,” Harvey concurred, coming over with Emily following behind him. “We still don’t know what dangers might be out there so it’s even more unwise to go venturing out in the dark, and alone. You can join some of us who are investigating the town tomorrow and we’ll find a Bar then, alright? You can wait.”
Shane folded his arms with an eye-roll and muttered, “Yeah, whatever.”
