@mcrudd Ooh, thanks, I'll keep that in mind. I was able to get most items I needed at the marketplace before heading to the jungle, but good to know for future trips so I don't think I'll finish the aspiration in one trip. As far as needs go, my sims are both pretty much super sims with reward traits at this point, so not worried about that, but I am running low on money since I got slammed with bills for their new giant house (I have MCCC auto pay on for bills) and then with the price of their rental, it looks like I may need to end this vacation early and really focus on earning some money before I send them back.
awww ending the vacation early because of debt, sounds a bit like real life LOL. Well usually the temples take a wee while to reset anyways Good luck on making some money to go on holiday again. Can't wait to see them in the Jungle exploring once they have money again LOL.
ps, The Sylvandorians never had what I needed at their markets, especially the machetes LOL
@mcrudd I got lucky and was able to buy three machetes at the market. I never see that many so I snagged them all. They aren't quite out of money yet, so they'll spend one day exploring the temple when I play tomorrow and then maybe another day or two (I'll post photos) but I want to send them home before their next billing cycle since they're gonna need to do a few good super sells for their garden and other lucrative hobbies/jobs for me to get their funds back up again.

For now have a cute non aspiration related photo of them at the baths
Got through stage 2 of the aspiration with a temple visit (I need to look to see what's next. Since completing the aspiration quickly isn't always my goal, I tend to forget what I need them to get done sometimes haha)
Okay finally made some actual progress on the JA aspirations
Jules got to the third stage of the Jungle Explorer Aspiration
Thanks to a bee attack she made a little progress there too.
And she made it to the second stage of the Archeology Scholar Aspiration
They cannot afford to stay in the jungle anymore right now lol, but she can buy an archeology table and authenticate some of the other artifacts she found while she's at home. Hoping to get enough money to send them back to the jungle soon to finish these aspirations!
@permanentrose great job getting the progress on those aspirations. I like how you are really spending more time doing other things and not just grinding to get through the requirements - that's what I will do when I replay the Aspiration Challenge.
@permanentrose I agree with @Llandros2012 it looks as if your sims are actually enjoying themselves, my poor sims just have to wake up work on aspiration eat sleep and wake up and repeat LOL. I do have a buyable Selvadorian dig pile available if you would like to excavate in your back garden
@Llandros2012 and @mcrudd Thank you With most of my sims, I've tended to plow through things just to get them done, but since I've been doing a challenge that's supposed to span over a year, it's been a nice change of pace to do it slowly and appreciate the animations and scenery and even tell a story with my main sim. But I do like playing faster too, which is what the 100 baby challenge is reminding me of, so it's nice to have two really different challenges to do just so I don't get tired of just playing one way.
And I might be tempted to buy that dig pile - but I have been trying to do all these aspirations without cheating so I think I'll hold off for now even though that would be so convenient haha.
And because I like adding photos to my posts when I can - here's a pic of them fishing just before their vacation ended.
An update on the slowest aspiration challenge ever lol...
Jules is back home. This month they are living in Oasis Springs and I edited a gallery house that used a lot of Courtyard Oasis stuff. She has a little work station on the second floor balcony and she is happily authenticating artifacts
Order in which Sona completed her aspirations:
Bodybuilder other base game/EP03/GP04 aspirations (she had to skip some aspirations at first because she was just a teen and got an offer to be turned into a vampire while working on gardening and grilled cheese)

It's slow going but I got as much done with both Jungle aspirations as I could without them being in Selvadorada. Planning to send them back on another trip though in the near future!
These artifacts make me laugh. So ridiculous. And this one is authentic too haha.
I like that you can start laying foundations for grown up aspirations with kids too. Ruby is a level 6 at knitting already.
@permanentrose I like the fake ones even more, they make me giggle the whole time LOL @kusurusu she truly concentrates when making a potion and is all smiles practicing magic
Ok some aspiration updates - Jules worked on both the Mixology and Cooking aspiration but will need to join the culinary career to finish both of those and I'm not ready for her to do that for story purposes yet so that will have to wait. But I did make some progress with both of those.
And I realized I never finished the Bodybuilder aspiration with Jules, despite her being a level 10 fitness and having the active trait. Needless to say, she finished that aspiration easily by the end of the day

her home lot is usually pretty barren apart from a few gameplay objects required for the current tasks (in this case a cauldron)
