Like the new page, shame they are doing nothing about the people who just reupload other people's stuff. Just gets so disheartening, why bother with the gallery at all, just cheat and use bots to increase your followers and downloads.

I have a semi popular simself in the gallery which I created for a challenge and was subsequently nominated for a Maxis Fave. I like to check on her popularity once in a while. I was expecting the sort to show items with highest number of downloads or favorites first down to last but that is not how it appears to work. Actually, I usually can not locate my sim by scrolling through the "Most Popular" sort and she should be on one of the first few pages.
Anyone else experience this or like this to be fixed?
I suspect that the default 'Sort by Most Popular' filter has some sort of timed setting on it whereas if an upload hasn't gotten a certain amount of downloads for a certain amount of time (even though it could be really popular overall) it just won't show up. I did a search for Cassandra Goth and I got no results; I then changed the filter to Newest* and got several dozen (including the actual original Cassandra Goth, which was who I was looking for in the first place).
I hope they consider implementing an option where the individual can choose their default Sort By... filter in the future.
* Although I can't be sure if it was Newest or Most Popular Now that I changed it to.
We welcome feedback be it positive or negative, but please keep in constructive. Throwing insults at anyone, including general EA, is not going make the feedback heard louder.

You can voice ciriticsm against EA. I've done it short of a thousand times on these forums without getting banned or jailed. But yes, EA is made up of people and insulting them is neither helpful nor constructive.
Anyway on topic: I liked the stream. I think it must have been pretty hard for them to come online and, as Grant said, break the ice. To introduce streaming for communication's sake, not just for announcements. It is what many of us wanted. They also told us not to get hyped. So all in all, I don't even know what there is to be insulting about.

That's what I think too. In the past I have had downloads of my lots within a couple of minutes but scrolled through lots of the newest uploads (not mine) and didn't see one download. If you haven't had an download in about a quarter of an hour you are so far down the page that you have no chance of being seen. That's why I've removed all my lots from the Gallery. Why bother?
I put lots of houses on the Gallery in the past and have accumulated over 7000 downloads but at most about 50 to 60 each so have no hope of being on most popular now. I don't do Facebook, Instagram or Twitch but had several, early on re-uploaded as other peoples lots and they got many more downloads for my work. I didn't expect many downloads anyway as I specialised in UK suburb type houses, redbrick and Tudor.
I am thinking that those super advanced makers should be put in some type of "National Gallery" of Favoured uploads and put separately to be admired like we do when going to an Art Gallery! and give the newbies a chance.
I'm very excited about maxis monthly and guru garage. I love watching the gurus stream even if it's not showing off something new.
That is a good thing. I'd love it if they came across some of the bugs whilst playing the game online. Now that would lead to a swift Patch of that offending bug. Maybe try and reproduce some as Nick, Icarus and Arvin are trying behind the scenes from bug reports from players.
I don't like the way it automatically defaults to "Most Popular" either. My normal routine when I load up is to go through notifications and see what my friends have favorited or shared, then I browse the gallery. I always look at the new uploads. If I'm looking for something specific, then I'll use the search function. It just doesn't seem very fair for the regular or casual creators with a small library/handful of followers. They will just get buried under everything else. I think it will be harder for up and coming creators to get noticed with "Most Popular" now being the default.
The gallery is very nice and easy to work with! I simply love it! <3 - But what happened to screenshots?! They don't seem to have the same high quality after the update yesterday. :( The pics look blurry and the antialiasing is worse and clearly visible to the eye. Hope you can fix that! Hugs! o:)
I am happy enough for what we have gotten so far on the patch. the gallery is nice.
I want to share my viewpoint. Instead of thinking 'this is the third patch since....' I think Wow this is the THIRD patch! I think it really shows the efforts of devs and gurus doing Something! I remember in sims 3 days.....nothing to fixed, patches did not help anything (that I noticed) and I dont think there was this much communication.
In my view I say they ARE listening to us! They tweet, they are in the forums, its amazing, I am amazed how different things are now.
And I do understand the negative the fustration, lets take for example the leaves, its spring in my game and they are there stinky. I am dreading to make it back to Fall. BUT here is some proof that they are just not twittling their thumbs!
They are having trouble re-creating it and have reached out asking for help! That is MAJOR to me.

But like the guru says there is a proper WAY to do feedback. Its HOW its worded. If you are to aggitited don't type just walk away and come back when able to say it in a constructive way.

This default to Pop Now is very very unfair. It will confine all the views to the same people. I liked the consistent newest setting...it gave everyone a chance to be seen. The two uploads I did today were only seen by my existing followers. That is so disappointing.

This is an issue we are aware of and it is being looked into.

The new update made it so I can't use the gallery. When I try to put a sim in CAS or preview one when the gallery closes it turns the screen gray and wont do anything i have to force the game to stop
I have the same issue too. I will remove my mods folder for testing, I already disabled script mods and it would drive me nuts when I can't use my cc anymore because of the update. Additionally, there are some mods I just can't play without.

I'd like to add my voice to those who want "Newest" to be the default setting. It's great to have a "Popular Now" setting for those who are into trends, but making that the default just kind of turns the Gallery into a popularity contest and it won't be long before Simmers are fighting against Simmers to get their work out there. I know that the Game Changers will be a new thing coming to the Gallery, but every player still deserves fair exposure for the creations they've worked hard on.
It's kind of like telling the "unpopular" Simmers that they don't matter because they aren't "influencers" and never will be. I know that wasn't the intention when designing it, but it does actually send a bad message when you single out and favor the "popular" group. Please consider a change.
Think about it, if they are only going to show by popularity first and it would be many old very popular builds or creations, we would never get to see anything but those same old ones over and over again. They will be from the older packs as well. So if we are looking for builds from say Seasons we would not find any because it would be a newer build and not be shown because its new. Also, I read someone on this thread someone speaking about some cheating to get popular with bots? I hope that's not possible.
But regardless if we go by most popular we will only see the old popular builds and nothing new ever.

I have always enjoyed going to the gallery when we get a new Pack just to see our new builds for our new pack, now that's fun. So I think It would be good if we keep Newest first, and like someone said to leave it as a choice for the most popular if you want that.

Also, I do a search by name of what I want like Park or something, I hope we still have the search.
