✈️ Vacation : Gameplay update
Hi,
The vacation travel should be a different experience than an usual travel.
Edit 1 :
For example the sims could choose their vacation outfits like we can do in Star Wars Journey to Batuu.
What is the point to go in vacation in a home world if the gameplay is same as visiting it ?
I would like to add some things specific to a vacation gameplay :
Vacation festivals/Local social events would be welcome.
Themed vacation will help your sims to find the proper activities to do :
Of course the theme depends on the destination, for example San Myshuno can't provide a "Nature" themed vacation.

I would like to add some things specific to a vacation gameplay :
- Bite by mosquitoes in Sulani : the tourists are always the favorite food of the insects
- Lost luggage : your sims need to buy new clothes (pay for replacement)
- Learn about the local culture and history
- Food intoxication/Travelers' diarrhea : The stomach of the tourist isn't ready to eat the local homemade food yet.
- Everything is more expensive : the tourists always pay a more expensive price than the residents.
- NPC Charlatan return : Some people tries to sell fake local souvenirs or just steal the money of the tourist
- Neighborhood postcards : Collect them or send a postcard to somebody
- Lost IDs : Bad luck, it's rare but it happens. It's the end of the travel, the sims must go back home. No vacation until the new IDs are received.
- Jet lag : It's noon, it's time to sleep ? The sims are tired or dazed for 24 hour.
- Tourist Market : This market sell souvenirs, local products and postcards

- Fortune : Luxury vacation (Rental lot with butler service), meet famous sims
- Free time : No theme

Only millionaire sims own a private jet
I thought they were millionaires, they own the electricity company after all. Did they lose their fortunes in your game? 😂
Don't forget a lot of criminal sims are hacking Landgraab Systems everyday.
Because I can't; I keep all sigs turned off.
Travels have a positive effect on the mood more than a few days off at home.
I imagine travel in Sims 4 like in Final Fantasy XI (was it XI?), where you could opt for fast travel or take it slow and explore the airship. For sims that select fast travel nothing changes from the current system, but sims that use the plane/bus/train would be subject to luggage checks (maybe also scanning and /or patting down), wait times, escaped pets and so on. There could be exclusive goods to be bought in duty free shops on the plane or ship (unlockable by cheat as usual).
Would be nice if they added ship cruises, train trips and airports. Ships could basically be floating neighbourhoods with restaurants, entertainment, cabins, and a couple of hidden ports to stop to on the way. Same with trains, they have restaurants, bars, sleep cabins and could stop at several stops along the way. With airports, we could have private planes and commercial planes, duty free shops and active careers with airport security, plane pilot and air hostess jobs. Also, ship captain active career would be nice.
And also a Tourist Trap lot trait.
Like the Roommate system, the NPC guests could pay a part of the rent.
My sim always pays for the restaurant and the food, it's not fair to pay for the vacation too.
When it's Summer, Sulani vacations are more expensive and there are more NPC tourists.
TS2 EP6 Bon Voyage did a good job in term of tourist experience.
A new gameplay is required since the sims can travel in the home worlds.
It makes no sense to travel to Sulani if your sims already visit this world everyday.
As residents we don't see our city the same way that a tourist does.
I think about a system that measure the general tiredness.
Raising children, hard working for the career, being volunteer, … at some point the sims would need a break to recover their strength.
I wish we had a pack like Bon Voyage or even Vacation from the sims 1 those were fun and made me want to send my sims on vacation.
Definitely, we need gameplay for leisure vacations. Going to cook and clean in another house is not a real vacation. Also, if you want to rent a nice property with a big pool, gym, restaurant and a butler like a hotel would have, it becomes very expensive for regular sims.
•different greetings and dance styles for vacation worlds that your sims could learn (ts2)
•tomb raider stuff like having your sims do some of that digging underground was so much fun to watch now they just dig with hands its little underwhelming
• souvenir shops and charlatan
• hotels (ts2 style)
• the way game would sometimes give you that parents are going on holiday teen stays home alone chance card so you'd have little bit of freedom controlling just one sim for a bit would go great with new high school pack
I also wish if we ever get hotels they come with some drama like sims gossiping stealing stuff n such
n if theres hotels i will need fuctional elevators with woohoo options yes
aaaand what else oh I wish there was something more to granite falls like using the lake with some rafts or something or idk hammocks? just something
aand maybe like if we can't have say cruise can we at least have like props to create believable modern ship exterior for our builds like u kinda can but also theres no correct items so its unneededly strugglesome
aand to finish this off I just wish if we get more vacation content please let it be more about things to do I want actual activities not just pretty world we have lots of pretty worlds
