The only weird thing I'm noticing is that the Grim Reaper came to collect some chicken souls and now he won't leave. The game is also super laggy. Also, I'm having a hard time harvesting collectibles in Bramblewood. It's like they aren't repopulating after a sim leaves.

I had double checked the game was updated...it was, and I did try repairing it through origin, but it's still happening. I'm having the same problem. He's promoted to GP and has been at the level for some time (because I can't seem to find 3 patients that need surgery!), but he's still in scrubs.

I like this one, http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=553961 but I'm afraid to download it because some have reported problems with being able to use certain things. I so badly want to alter the hospital and police station lots because I just don't care for EA's layouts, but I don't want to bork the game.

I've patched and I'm not having that minimizing problem. I can still use the Windows key. But, my pool water looks like a square in the ground filled with clear gelatin. I've been having to go into edit mode when they age up to children to fix it. Sometimes I have to go back in when they age up to teens to fix it.

I'm in the same boat. Too busy to play right now, but I have found when I do get a free hour here or there, I haven't fired up the game because I just don't want to deal with the issue.

I never really played TS3 except for the first month it was released as a base game. So, the real question for me is: have I gone back to playing Sims 2. The answer is no. I'm honestly afraid that I like TS4 more.

I have one mod = to 681 bytes. It's just a blur in the distance removal mod. So far, I don't feel like CC is really necessary. There's a nice variety already in the game.

I feel dumb for asking, but how do you know if your game is patched? The only patches I've ever used are the ones you had to DL and apply yourself for TS2.

I got it by having my sim "practice writing" until he became tense, so I let his needs tank, basically. I then had him take a bath and read a book and he got past it and I got past the level. Good luck!

You're not the only one it happened to. I tried deleting my cache files and it crashed my game. I ended up having to restore factory settings and dropping in my saved game files. I didn't lose anything, thankfully, because I make frequent back-ups.
