The game if 39.99 in pre-release and will be in pre-release for 12 plus months. Full release price will go up go up by an undetermined amount, but people who bought the pre-release won't have to pay more at release (from Epic Games). I'm not thrilled with the character movements, but forty bucks to play around with the open world and build as I please doesn't seem like a waste of money even if I never play with the characters. Nothing has been said yet about additional content.
Open World, Life Simulator, Free exploration, Real conversations, Go shopping, Advance through jobs and careers, control anyone at any time, take direct control, customize your world, tell your stories, character creator, lot creator, town creator, conversation creator, event creator, item creator, shop creator, object creator, mod creator, career creator, quest creator, script creator, gameplay creator, recipe creator, skill creator, trait creator, crafting creator, collectible creator, outfit creator, household creator, story creator, life creator.
This is going to be very interesting to see how it will turn out, and how well it will all work together and how it will look. They basically took many long requested features that people have wanted and said "sure, we can do that" and developed a game engine which is going to handle all of it.
This is so much more expanded with features which will provide players (likely from both the sims community and the cities skylines community) with so many different tools.
I think this will be the game that sets the bar; as when they say Life by You, they mean Life by You; as there is little that can't be messed with. Too much that has been done in the Sims lately either requires a large number of cheats, mods (or a combination of both) or can't be changed or disabled at all.
I think Simlish is a good case of "Keep it Simple Stupid" (which avoids localization hassles for dialog); but having actual dialog is a nice feature to have. I guess I'm going to have to figure out what I'll be writing for the dialog, and that likely means a lot more messing around with letting ChatGPT do the work.
Can't wait to see how development progresses. Not a day one purchase for me, unless I can get the RAM swapped out without breaking something on my PC. I'm within spec, almost.
I have tried TS3 CAS for 5 years and finally threw up my hands. I am just now beginning to master TS4 CAS after 4. I wonder how long it'll take me to learn the Human Creator?
The rather high (even though I'm surprised an i7 wasn't the recommended processor) minimum specs don't surprise me. I'm good for everything but RAM on my Lenovo Creator 5i, as it has the recommended 10th generation i5-10400, as well as an Nvidia 1660GTX SUPER (which is between the minimum and recommended specs, as it is 6GB but doesn't offer ray tracing), but only 12 gigs (1 card)of RAM. I'm thinking that I'll bump it up to 32 (2x 16). I wish I hadn't bought a compact case model, as it's hard to get at the RAM. I'm wishing I'd splurged and bought something like a Dell Workforce, as a refurbished unit preceded this Lenovo, and I loved how easy it was to get at everything inside.
It was looking pretty amazing, but then it is a edited version of gameplay where they only show the best bits. I think builders will greatly enjoy it, but as far as gameplay goes?! Yes you can take over other chracters but if there is nothing to do it will soon become boring, from EAs point of view it can get tricky since september probably will be about time for the next pack

Text means no voice actor (several languages) = cheaper development
I'm not fan about reading conversation in Dragon Age Origins, I prefer to listen to the voice actors in Mass Effect.
I'm trying to preorder but I don't see a way we can on Steam? Is it only available on Epic right now?
The pre order exclusive seems to be only for epic games store, but it looks like Early Access will be available on both Epic Games Store and Steam on September 12th.
I'm going to get it on steam, I prefer to have my games on steam, and if this will be supported like cities skylines then this game will most likely have steam workshop support, which means that you can download custom content directly through steam and cities skylines have a very large steam workshop.
Getting all the developer tools is great, but I'm sceptic about the real dialogue. The game putting words into my sims' mouths was always a big red flag for me, and being able to edit the dialogue trees can only ever alleviate that problem, not negate it. Sure, I can define things like "Which candidate will you vote for mayor?" and then put my characters' names as the options, that's nice.
But then again in Sims 4 some my sims got arrested for espionage, and during the interrogation they started referencing a fishing trip and bickering amongst themselves. Later, during their trial, my hot-head sim casual mentioned tanks, what was... tense, to say the least. In a different context that same icon might have meant "the kids AGAIN didn't put away their toys", no need to fiddle with hundreds of dialogue strings. I'm afraid to lose those spontaneous moments.
Children are not currently fully implemented in game so we see improvements here, including further developing children and adding more content for them as Early Access progresses.
Looks like saves could be impacted as they are developing the game during Early Access, so that's probably good to know. That can be both negative...and a positive in my opinion, sometimes it's fun to start over and try new features as they are being developed, reminds me of playing Subnautica when it was early access.

But the pixels in HD hurted my eyes a little .

What a shame. I guess I'm passing on this one too. Oh well. At least I know for sure EA will always have my occult-loving back.
