After thinking about it, I’m going to make sure my merfolk use skirts in their swimwear… functionally, it makes the most sense.
This should give me more freedom to develop other outfits. I’m thinking that my merfolk will try to blend in with humans because it’s in their best interest to remain hidden… I’m trying to brainstorm the potential scenarios that might make this favorable without making it look like my merfolk want to be human.
First, none of my merfolk will be able to become human… magical or otherwise, merfolk can’t become human in my story. If any of them wanted to become human, it would be an extreme minority… such an extreme that no one would entertain the idea if they are naturally born merfolk.
I might entertain the possibility of humans joining merfolk in the sea, but merfolk won’t become human to live on land… then again, they can take a human form at will, they don’t need to become human.
As for the traditional merfolk attire, I am leaning toward the formal outfits for this one. Traditional Elements just seem to make the most sense for more formal situations. Formal Merfolk Attire will be very different from Formal Human Attire, and it will be a way for merfolk to represent themselves during important situations.
When deciding on an outfit for my merfolk, it’s important to do enough for them to pass as human without betraying their true identity. For any merman or mermaid born in the sea, their mermadic identity would be very important to them. It’s important that they remain true to what they are.
When my merfolk first go to High School, they will probably stand out among humans like a sore thumb. That’s intentional. When the story starts, my merfolk won’t have enough experience with humans to effectively blend in with them. They will need to learn how to look more like humans, but I would need a situation that triggers the response. My merfolk simply wouldn’t think that they need to dress differently without a reason, an outside influence…
It might not happen instantly, but I’ll think of some kind of reason for my merfolk to put a little more effort into blending in with humans… I still haven’t thought of that reason.
There’s a very good chance that my merfolk only use their swimwear… as far as gameplay is concerned, my merfolk have always been very good at finding places to swim.
I remember when Dylan and Zeph went to university, it was a struggle to keep them from autonomously going for a swim…
Point is, I don’t think I will need mermadic attire in every outfit category if this behavior remains.
Now, there’s still the matter of updating the various lots I created to turn the eco footprint toward the industrial side of things.
@mightysprite It was a memorable night. It had lots of touching moments and some hilarious moments too. My favorite funny moment was Darian's total focus on his Volcano Pasta. I wanted everybody's attention on Matteo and Liberty when he proposed but, you know how sims are, I just went with it once he started. Darian wasn't the only one who didn't realize what was happening until it was almost done. Matteo's proposal wasn't the only thing he missed either. Summer was right next to him giving looks alternating between adoring and 'take me I'm yours'. Danielle and Londyn were flirting, blowing kisses, declaring their love, just being themselves. Darian is sitting there munching away. When he's done, and the ladies are celebrating Liberty's engagement, Darian turns and looks at Summer like, 'what's the commotion about?'
I don't know who this woman is, but if I see her again there will be a third Crumplebottom. When I'm taking screenshots I turn headline effects off so there's no plumbobs are anything showing, so I couldn't mouse over her to see who she is. I hope she's ready to become a senior citizen because she will be getting the full Crumplebottom treatment if I ever see her again. Anyway she was over by the host station expressing her disapproval of all the outrageous PDAs going on around our group's table.
I missed getting a picture of the best gesture because I turned my head to find my water bottle. She really didn't like the fact that my sims were having a fun time flirting outrageously with their partners and taking turns trying to one up the others to see who could plant the most passionate kiss on their lover. If you're going to act like Agnes in my game, you are going to become a Crumplebottom sister whether you want to be one or not.😁 That applies to the men too.🤣
I would very much like to post another segment, but imjur is acting all wonky on me, suddenly. I can't so much as log-in without the page needing to be refreshed, let alone upload my latest photos! Is anyone else experiencing this?

Problem is, it's been this way for a good two-three days, now. I did some optimization on my computer thinking that might help. Nope. I'm about ready to throw my computer out of the second story window!
I suppose I could try to post pictures via the attach image icon and see if that works. I'm used to writing my posts in Office Libre, and posting the code for the pictures in so all I have to do is make certain I posted the correct pictures in the correct order and check for typos and italics. This is frustrating.

It was working great for me during that hiccup! I only just did the optimization today. This has been going on for the last two-three days. Not only that, but when I try to browse for another hosting and sharing site, it constantly needs to refresh, too. Something is amiss, I have no clue what, but it may be awhile before I can share what's been going on in my game, unless sans pictures is okay with most. I've got what I believe to be great shots, too. Oh, well, so far I should have stood in bed.
Congratulations! It is so cool and inspirational when somebody singles out your creativity for praise like that. You deserve it and there will be more where that came from.
@GalacticGal I don’t have a problem with you posting without pictures. Your Erik Cantrell stories are more text driven anyway. Your words do most of the work and the pictures back it up.
My style is different. The pictures really help inspire the text. I have the story in my head but it’s once all the pictures are uploaded then I will take some time to look at them and start playing with bits of the narrative. It may only be for a few minutes, sometimes it’s a couple of hours. Rare cases it’s a couple of days. I do a rough draft of some text while I’m playing and taking shots, but it’s in the picture editing that it all starts to come together.
That's exactly how I do it. I let the pictures guide the storyline, especially if it's been a day or two before I write things up. I'm learning to start a chapter, when inspiration hits, even if it's in the middle of gameplay. That way, the pictures only remind me of what happened. Basically, I'm hosed. I can try to see if it's working on my laptop, I suppose.
It's just been a difficult week for me. Hubby was away on business, my most favorite actress passed away and now I can't load my pictures. I really am starting to hate my computer! I think my patience is being Tested, and I'm failing miserably. Thank you so much for the tea & Sympathy.

I named their daughter, Freedom, which is Dharma's middle name in the show.
The family also has two dogs named Stinky and Nunzio (they came with the family).
Tinker Gnome: She's an original character who I found that reminds me of what a human-Gnome hybrid would look like.
It's ironic the game choose real-life actor, Leonardo DiCaprio, as the EcoMaster. But here he is visiting Tinker.
Since Tinker and Leo have been hitting it off so well, especially in this garbage bin, I moved Leo into Tinker's off-the-grid home on the last day of her turn.
In today's edition of "Guess Who Got Naked", we've got Circe Beaker (The Sims 2).

What I find happening to me, is that I will post something and the next time I go to the same thread, I'll see my comment down below with the post comment underneath it. I made the mistake of posting it, then realized it was a few posts above, already. This is crazy-insane.
ETA: Oh, HAPPY TIME. I got weary of just how very s.l.o.w. my laptop on WIFI can be. I decided on another approach. I have something called Brave already on this computer. I decided after looking it up, to take it out and give it a spin. Guess what? I was able to log in to imjur and the photos I uploaded to it from my laptop which only took over two hours to do are all right there. Seems, it's not my computer so much as it's EDGE. I really hate Microsoft edge. Please allow me to get my bearings and I may be able to post no later than Monday, is my hope. Tomorrow my Dance Card is full

I’ve also been thinking about a recent bug. Sims have been unusually mean after the update. I’m wondering if I should take advantage of that bug in some way.
Maybe my merfolk will get picked on for looking different… seems like a a more negative approach than I would like…
Also, I’m wondering how I’m going to set up various lots. I have so much work to do in my save before I can play the game. I’m wondering if it would be better to set up one neighborhood at a time?
