I am a big fan of skirts for men. In Czechia there is a brand called Kiltorys - freedom for a sack. I love that playful name (it's not a typo) and the slogan too.
Playful, yes, but I’m not sure how much freedom a sack gets in a mini skirt.
Perhaps a little too much freedom? 😅
Yeah no, I prefer normal-looking clothing, rather than this "runway chic". Honestly, I don't know many irl men who'd wear these outfits, let alone a skirt outside of cultural practices.
Give our Vampires back their fangs!!! Reverse the Nerf!!! Occult simmers should not be shoved aside for the "realism players"! It's time Occult lovers/players started to demand equal treatment. #JusticeForOccults
Sorry but I'm old school. Masculine used to mean full male, manly, mucho, etc, etc, etc.
It never meant "Hey Dude, don't you look so pretty & girly".
However, my Female sims will so look very beautiful in the pretty girly outfits.
Wait a minute, Metaverse? Is this a Facebook cooperation to? Because in that case it is Hard No x 10 on top of the already Hard No from me.
Edit: also... since any gender can wear any clothes in CAS already... why did the devs go out of their way to make the opposite of what people wanted when they asked for more clothes for men?
Isn't everything? I don't even use Facebook and I feel like a Facebook cooperation.
On a serious note, I know that many of us are voicing negative opinions and joking about this kit, but those who are excited and looking forward to buying it, please don't let us put you off or make you feel that you can't express your own positive feelings about this kit.
Just as everyone can wear what they want, everyone can buy and enjoy what they want too.
If it makes even a few Simmers happy, then great! I just don't think that this is what those who requested menswear had in mind and it isn't really my cup of tea.
For a short moment, I thought I'd be buying my first kit. Saw the clothes, and no, I guess I won't.
I don't know anything about fashion, will likely *never* know anything about fashion. I'm not sure what kind of clothing I want for my "manly" men. But this is not it.
Once again, thankfully it's a kit and not a free patch.

REDEFINING LONDON CLASSICS
Discover New Styles with The Sims 4 Modern Menswear Kit
The Sims™ has always been a creative destination where players come to express themselves, discover new experiences and play with life.
To further empower players to find new and expressive paths to self-discovery, and to deliver on the promise of providing more contemporary menswear options, The Sims worked with the British Fashion Council - a not-for-profit organization supporting British design talent and championing responsible and creative businesses to further strengthen British fashion around the globe - to Simify an up-and-coming menswear brand and help stretch style boundaries with its next fashion kit, The Sims™ 4 Modern Menswear Kit.
Welcome to The Sims’s virtual closet, Stefan Cooke.
Helmed by Central Saint Martins graduates Stefan Cooke and partner Jake Burt, the award-winning, London-based label - named after Cooke - is un-defining traditional menswear. “We’re taking quintessential menswear items and repurposing them, whether it's through textiles or silhouette,” explains Cooke.
“The brand is about redefining masculinity,” continues Cooke. “We always try to be authentic, and without excluding anyone. We’re about redeveloping and refining old ideas, but making them incredibly modern, and pushing that idea to the point that it transcends things like gender.”
For The Sims 4 Modern Menswear Kit, Stefan Cooke worked with The Sims team to bring a wide-range of new-age menswear to players and creators around the globe. Consisting of 23 pieces, all of which are Simified recreations of real-world Stefan Cooke collections, the garments range from the traditional to the revolutionary, masculine to effeminate, and fusions of them all. There’s jackets, trousers, suits, and shoes, as well as some of the designers’ favorite pieces, including the Stefan Cooke Wool Varsity Coat with Skirt, a design that perfectly encapsulates the evolution of modern menswear.
Alongside the dynamic shapes and silhouettes, fabric is another quintessential Stefan Cooke characteristic. The former brings us deeper into the boundless future of menswear, while the latter pays homage to the familiar classics.
“Each material was carefully hand-painted to emulate the texture qualities by doing somewhat of a caricature of the details,” explains Vincent Joly, Senior Art Director for The Sims. “Exaggerating the shapes and controlling the contrast to not look too busy or photorealistic, at the same time not reducing the details too much to lose the essence of the fabrics. Each piece was tuned to find that sweet spot.”
Burt and Cooke are not just looking forward to seeing their styles democratized and digitized, they’re also excited for the self-exploration that their kit will inspire, both within The Sims and in the real world.
“I hope people become more explorative with what they're wearing, especially if they're guys,” says Burt. “I think it's a good thing if people feel more comfortable and unafraid to wear what they want to wear.”
“Fashion can be about identifying as part of something, but also as your own person. It’s both for community and individualism,” adds Cooke. “That's why fashion is so amazing. It can be the slightest thing, and it can really change how you feel about yourself or what you want to put across to the world.”
In order for simmers to "push boundaries" with their male sims you need to already offer casual male clothing. Something that simmers have said for years that we are lacking.
With every pack female sims end up getting more clothes than men. And your response is designing a kit which tells men to dress less masculine. And you don't name it something like the "Stefan Cooke Kit", you name it "Modern Menswear Kit". There are so few beards, and no body hair and now you are telling my male sims to wear a skirt as well?
I am just a normal guy who don't care much about fashion, I just give my sims clothes that I think look good, which are often casual clothes that works well to combine with other clothes.
But you are giving me less of that and more of...this. Please consider us simmers who like to dress our sims in masculine clothing a bit more, and don't call us "not modern" or "old fashioned".
As for this kit? I'll definitelyPass - even if it were FREE, I would NOT download this Kit.
Just my .02.
Actually if this wouldve been a base game update and it were not possible to change the skirts to feminine/men would auto start wearing them that would turn into a MUCH bigger problem...I would not want my townie men generating in feminine clothes.
The Sims has currently lost its identity. Bring it back for TS5
I am literally so disappointed. My sims are manly sims and don’t need or want to push any fashion boundaries because they are the traditional definition of masculine . They wear jeans , shorts , leather etc. ..they would never wear a skirt or dress for that matter. I guess some will get use out of this kit but I don’t think most will actually use it . I’m only thankful it was a kit so I had the option not to buy because it would be a pain to have to go in and remove randomly generated skirts on male sims in my game .
I like the shoes and boots they showed. The white T-shirt would look good as sports wear for the ladies, it looks a bit like a tennis outfit, and the tartan jacket and skirt thing would look nice on ladies with some high boots. Once we get body hair, I think these clothes will look comical on male sims.
Read into it and you'll find that the Devs worked together with an existing British menswear clothing designer, which explains all the sweaters. So it's another advertising pack. And that means it is DEFINITELY men'swear.
Whenever I said manly-manly-man clothes, I kinda meant hard punk. But hey, that sounds like the sort of thing that'll show in a music pack, so... whatever. It's not like we needed more party-wear, athleisure or t-shirts.
Try not to get so antsy about one little skirt, guys? Now a family-man can strut in style! You'll look super-cool when winter comes.
Prepping a list of mods to add after Infants are placed into the game. Because real life isn't 'nice'.
If that is what they call "modern men's wear" then I can say that I am 100% not seeing it as usable items for all men what-so-ever. What we needed is more masculine style clothing. All I see from this pack/kit and this designer in particular is feminine styles. No male I know IRL would ever wear anything like that. That said, I have not bought any of the CAS kits. None are styles any of my sims will wear.
Personally, I am waiting for the gameplay kits. We have plenty of CAS and Build/buy kits, but only 1 gameplay kit. This tells me the game is all about looks and not about gameplay.
As evidenced in some of the comments some do seem to be a bit 'antsy' over skirts for men. The majority though are disappointed that we're getting this pack first when there's such a need for basic male wardrobe staples.
I read instagram comments yesterday and there were more happy comments than I expected. I'm glad for those who like this kit and I'm glad it's just a kit. I haven't bought any kits yet, though the latest ones, such as the plant kit, incheon kit and the fashion street one, are very pretty. It's not hard for me to not buy a kit, so I don't know why I still feel this disappointed.
Maybe it would indeed be easier to swallow if it was named Stefan Cooke kit or something, because maybe I'm afraid that this is the only menswear kit we will have. Maybe it won't be the only one. Maybe there will be something better in bigger packs. Maybe it's hard because when I saw the word menswear I got excited to see what is in the kit. After looking at the pictures and designers' designs I doubt this new kit will have anything I like in it. I don't mind the skirt. There was a skirt in the incehon kit too, or I don't know if it's more like a kilt, but yeah I just don't like these designs. Maybe I'm disappointed because this could have been something interesting and it isn't.
Now I mainly wonder what will come in the base game patch of this kit.
Who knows what you'll get when you combine these things with already existing clothes? Or what the other swatches will look like?
Even if they're not manly manly man styles, my problem certainly isn't with the clothes themselves. Hey, if a male clothing designer wants us to think differently about skirts, let him. If your dad wants to look good, go right ahead. If the LGBT community wants something a little less obvious, why not? If nerds want to look stylish, go for it!
Wanna have a problem? Have a problem with the SIZE of the kit.
Prepping a list of mods to add after Infants are placed into the game. Because real life isn't 'nice'.
Me, too. Malcomb Laandgrab and Alexander Goth are screaming with excitement in my head right now. I had intended to kill them in my current game, now I have to play them instead. They are going to become partners in crime, I think.
Initially I was disappointed, but then my imagination took off into orbit! $5 is a small price to pay for that.
Wanna have a problem? Have a problem with the SIZE of the kit.
Can’t say this often enough but I have a problem with the NAME of the kit and how it’s promoted: Modern Man style equals feminine wear because some London dude says so?
We don’t have enough basic / old style / modern style masculine male content in this game.
What we do have enough of is skirts and knitted jumpers for any gender.
But that’s not the point. The point is that Maxis wants to play the representation game real hard, yet they seem to be having a difficult time representing masculinity in the sims 4. It would have been a long, hairless 7 years if it wasn’t for our friend Luumia.
“Let’s put “MEN” in the title of the pack so they’ll all shut up once and for all.”
Are you kidding me? They didn’t need to label that kit as a Modern MEN pack if it’s meant to push these so called boundaries.
Push boundaries with the name too if that’s what’s so important in modern society. In our strange, contemporary little niche world.
They should have called it “Schitt’s Creek Kit” or “Stefan Cookware Kit” or simply “A Pair of Juicy Lemons in a Little Bag Kit” and call it a day.
Time for me to call it a day too.
I need to replace my bag of ice cubes and take a nap.
Try not to get so antsy about one little skirt, guys? Now a family-man can strut in style! You'll look super-cool when winter comes.
It’s not one little skirt. There are 4 different short skirts in the promo images and a short dress.
Oh that's a good catch! The skirts were so similar, or mainly the length of them was so similar, that somehow I imagined there was only one though there are clearly more since the meshes are different.
Does Stefen Cooke really want to push boundaries? Or did he make up that old spiel so he can sell leftover clothes at exorbitant prices? Or is this like Moschino, where you sell almost nothing, but because prices are so high, anything you DO manage to sell makes bank?
The Sims 4 hasn't introduced a new musical instrument since 2017
This Stefan Cooke outfit is thousands of dollars IRL. Please let this be in the kit, so my male sim can dress like an elementary school girl in France.

Playful, yes, but I’m not sure how much freedom a sack gets in a mini skirt.
Perhaps a little too much freedom? 😅
