I feel like this pack wasn't aimed at men, but at teenage girls. Teenage girls being the game's target audience. Not that this can't appeal to men, or that you're less of a man for liking this kit/not dressing traditionally. But it's the same stuff we usually get with the rest of the game: "comfy" sweaters, """trendy""" looks, and a concept with a millennial spin on it. The looks so far are super safe and similar to what we already get. The clothing itself is largely gender-neutral clothing, not something that feels specifically tailored for men. And there's way more to modern menswear than this style. I get that they're catering to a niche fashion choice for a niche audience. I get it. But still, they could have done better.
As people said before, it doesn't actually feel like something that defies boundaries, because we already have similar clothes and can reject gender norms. They're not pushing any boundaries or doing something new and expressive with this opportunity.
It's a niche pack aimed at a niche audience, so it'll make some people happy. Good for them, genuinely happy for them, yadda yadda yadda. But you know what appeals to all men? It starts with a D, ends with an S, and isn't a body part. That's right: Dragons. For future reference, CAS designers: slap some dragons on your men's fashion to make them more manly.
The Sims 4 hasn't introduced a new musical instrument since 2017
Unfortunately I think this is the first kit I have no desire to get, and probably won't. Not against men's fashion or trying new styles, I just know I won't use any of these at all. Sad, tbh.

There was a theory after the Scenarios announcement, I believe, that when something controversial is released something more favourable is leaked/announced shortly after. I think after Scenarios wasn't received too well we got information about the plant kit.
Sims has told me for years can makes SIMS just like people I know. Look, the pack is not people I know. Not in the same state. I'll be honest if Sims is making a clothing pack around the people in my area it would be Wal-Mart highlights of shopping cheap. So, you know I'll have fun with the skirts on a few sims but mostly I'll wonder who they hired who got to pick something go niche and say this is the new normal as my sim wears the one pair of jeans that isn't mid calf boy capris..again. Not hating the idea of the pack just truly baffled they never put out the boring rack clothes you see in middle America.

Do we think something might be "leaked" soon?
Now would be an EXCELLENT time to leak something... anything. Please.

dragons also really appeal to the niche young people that like to be less gendered
i remember when i was kid and my dad bought me dragon toy for my bday instead of weird dolls
and I was so touched that he understood that even if im gal i might still prefer the dragons
Oh No Maxis, randomly generated Elder male Sims will not be showing up at my San Myshuno festivals in miniskirt sweater combos ... Is this kit going to include greater control over random townie fashion choices? Have you thought this through?
You know one of my dream wishes was more fitness clothing and last month I noticed the throwback fit kit and went to heaven with the actual gym clothes I wore as a kid, the most beautiful running shoes I ever saw in the game, and the adorable new hats. I love it so much and it has made me so happy all my Sims are so fit and going to the gym in their new 1980's retro clothes. This is a pass for me, but I hope someone else falls in love with this new fashion set and has fun with it.
I think it's gonna be the new plant decorations kit for me.
I really want a toy kit. Just one kit all toys for toddlers and kids.
I‘m dying. People ask for a male fashion kit and EA gives them female fashion for male sims.
Truth! I got hyped when I read menswear... didn't expect to see yet another skirt. What a let down.
I would have been happy with some different length shirts and tanks in this kit, some jeans and a leather jacket. Also, still waiting for that body hair base game update. I mean, that would have added a lot more representation for men than this... #seasonofselves
While I'm always looking forward to more Menswear and love alternative fashion, I was thinking more on the lines of Hot Topic or Utilikilts. Not so much on the holiday tennis nerd chic. Oh well. Maybe the next pack will have some good stuff (and Occults maybe??) that I can use.
I like some of the male sweaters, jacket & pants. What I don't get is the pretty girly skirts for men. That being said, the pretty sweater dress & skirts will look so beautiful on my female sims.

Discover New Styles with The Sims 4 Modern Menswear Kit
The Sims™ has always been a creative destination where players come to express themselves, discover new experiences and play with life.
To further empower players to find new and expressive paths to self-discovery, and to deliver on the promise of providing more contemporary menswear options, The Sims worked with the British Fashion Council - a not-for-profit organization supporting British design talent and championing responsible and creative businesses to further strengthen British fashion around the globe - to Simify an up-and-coming menswear brand and help stretch style boundaries with its next fashion kit, The Sims™ 4 Modern Menswear Kit.
Welcome to The Sims’s virtual closet, Stefan Cooke.
Helmed by Central Saint Martins graduates Stefan Cooke and partner Jake Burt, the award-winning, London-based label - named after Cooke - is un-defining traditional menswear. “We’re taking quintessential menswear items and repurposing them, whether it's through textiles or silhouette,” explains Cooke.
“The brand is about redefining masculinity,” continues Cooke. “We always try to be authentic, and without excluding anyone. We’re about redeveloping and refining old ideas, but making them incredibly modern, and pushing that idea to the point that it transcends things like gender.”
For The Sims 4 Modern Menswear Kit, Stefan Cooke worked with The Sims team to bring a wide-range of new-age menswear to players and creators around the globe. Consisting of 23 pieces, all of which are Simified recreations of real-world Stefan Cooke collections, the garments range from the traditional to the revolutionary, masculine to effeminate, and fusions of them all. There’s jackets, trousers, suits, and shoes, as well as some of the designers’ favorite pieces, including the Stefan Cooke Wool Varsity Coat with Skirt, a design that perfectly encapsulates the evolution of modern menswear.
Alongside the dynamic shapes and silhouettes, fabric is another quintessential Stefan Cooke characteristic. The former brings us deeper into the boundless future of menswear, while the latter pays homage to the familiar classics.
“Each material was carefully hand-painted to emulate the texture qualities by doing somewhat of a caricature of the details,” explains Vincent Joly, Senior Art Director for The Sims. “Exaggerating the shapes and controlling the contrast to not look too busy or photorealistic, at the same time not reducing the details too much to lose the essence of the fabrics. Each piece was tuned to find that sweet spot.”
Burt and Cooke are not just looking forward to seeing their styles democratized and digitized, they’re also excited for the self-exploration that their kit will inspire, both within The Sims and in the real world.
“I hope people become more explorative with what they're wearing, especially if they're guys,” says Burt. “I think it's a good thing if people feel more comfortable and unafraid to wear what they want to wear.”
“Fashion can be about identifying as part of something, but also as your own person. It’s both for community and individualism,” adds Cooke. “That's why fashion is so amazing. It can be the slightest thing, and it can really change how you feel about yourself or what you want to put across to the world.”
*shrug* Meh. It wasn't made for me, but I can use it. Especially for my more androgynous Sims. It isn't as drab as I was afraid Incheon would be, so I can throw $5 at it.
I feel like this pack wasn't aimed at men, but at teenage girls. Teenage girls being the game's target audience.
I have yet to see a teenage girl dress their male sims in pink mini skirts or dream of having a boyfriend that wears 4 inch high heels. They usually go for soft yet traditional boys like 2012 Justin Bieber or current KPop idols. The Sims team is really out of touch with their target audience.

Granted, the first thing I thought of was the pilot episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation.
"Modern Menswear Kit" aka "More clothing your girlfriend is going to steal besides your hoodies" kit.
