Is there anyone has the same issue like me? Everytime i want to send a gift in game i always get a message that is telling me "This feature requires you to have a game registered"
lol @rosey1579 , I get the same error msg and I have all eps/sps hon, I think they are preparing to shut things down for sims 3 sadly. I would expect to get that 30 day notice anytime soon.
I own every basegame, EP, GP, SP and kits for all sims, ie.., sims 1, 2, 3 and 4

I too have this problem and had made a thread over in the Bugs and Issues section as well as alerting SimGuruDrake both in the post and through a PM along with other threads made by other people. She responded back saying that she will pass it on to the team so that they can take a look at it. I believe this may had started last week when they updated the site to move the purchasing of the simpoints and world bundles over to Origin as I was still able to do in-game gifting back in November and December right after the 1.69 patch came out.

Thank you for reporting this to me along with linking all of the related threads. I will have our team look into this to figure out the issue.
There is also a problem with the exchange on the site. So others thought that maybe that EA is getting ready to shut it down but SimGuruDrake has already said that they don't have any plans on shutting the exchange down. So if they are not going to shut the exchange down, then they won't be shutting the site down either.
This is what SGDrake has said about the exchange:
Hello Everyone! We are investigating this issue and I want to further clarify that there are currently no plans to shut down the exchange. As soon as I have more information from the team I will update this thread.

No I don't believe that they have any plans at the moment to shut down the store. If they were getting ready to shut down the store, they have to give everyone a 30 day notice so that everyone can use their simpoints up by buying what they want and to make a back-up of all of your store stuff and to get what you want from the exchange. I believe that the problems with the exchange started around or a few days after the 1.69 patch for the launcher and that the in-game gifting right after the update to the store. But a SimGuru had already said sometime last year that there was no plans to shut down the store as there are still a lot of TS3 players still using it...

Ok. But I am still going to load my wishlist and maybe make more room on computer.

One of the specialist team named Spencer told me that we have to make this forum post to get more replier, and make sure it's getting the exposure it needs to be viewed by a community moderator for the studio. The more replies and confirmation that it is happening, the quicker it will be fixed! SO GUYS BRING EVERY OF YOUR FRIENDS WHO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE TO COME HERE AND REPLY TO THIS POST. I REALLY APPRECIATE IT, :)

I have contacted EA for almost 2 weeks long, one of specialist team finally handle my case, and he said to me that i have to post this current issue the the sims community so we can alert the moderator and the more replies and responses, the quicker it will be fixed, and btw this is the first time for me to make a post on the sims 3 forum, so if i do something wrong or post this on the wrong section, im so sorry, cause i still learn how to use this forum, how you guys can reply with that style,

I don't have a game currently going since I have family visiting but I have book marked this thread so when I get a chance to play if I have the same problems as everyone else's I can find the thread again! Thank you for for bringing my attention to this!

I don't think so since they had closed the store first before the website. I remember trying to buy some of the holiday stuff from the TS2 store and it won't let me as it kept coming up as an error but I had no problem buying anything that wasn't a holiday item. Then when they had finally announced when they were going to close the website itself so that people could go and download everything that they wanted from the exchange, no one could even log into the site as it would come up as user name/password error.

There is also a problem with the exchange on the site.
