Kalena has bee added to the genepool to replace Sheela Smith
As an update, I'm not sure how much I will be around until the 1st of the year. This morning my sister had her triplets and tested positive for COVID. So right now that is going to be my priority, I will do my best to check in but just in case I don't post for a bit that's what is going on.
Omg! Well first off, congrats to your sister on the birth of her triplets!!! I'm only sorry that covid strikes yet again. I certainly hope those precious babies will remain safe and healthy and of course your sister too ❤❤❤ Take all the time you need.

I’ve played a couple of days with Naoko and Finn, testing out both the house and running a vet clinic. I put a cat welcome mat at the front door but didn’t realise that would invite all the neighbourhood strays to come visit! I counted at least four uninvited cats at one point. Naoko adopted Nikki, a British Longhair, who tolerates most of the intruders but has had a couple of fights with some of them. Is it normal for strays to just come in uninvited? It will definitely work for storytelling purposes in the actual challenge 🤣.
Naoko has had the vet clinic open for three hours and had a number of pets arrive in that time. Her skill is up to level 5. So far, this has been pretty easy but I have a feeling it won’t stay that way. Especially as a Naoko and Finn are expecting their first baby courtesy of risky woohoo! Why is it that the first children in the family have always been boys so far?
I’m thinking about using the Emerson’s as my founding couple. Since I don’t have some packs, can I randomise the traits and aspirations?
Edit: I’ve figured out the stray cat thing. I added Cat Hangout as a lot trait - I didn’t know that was an invitation! I’ve had Naoko try and befriend some of the strays so that her cat Nikki can have kittens but so far, Nikki and the other cats have rejected each other 😔.
@MayaRose1138 Haha! That's so funny about the stray cats. I didn't realize the cat hangout would do that! I'm glad you figured it out. I think if there are some traits you don't have it would be ok to randomize them. I definitely approve using the Emersons!
Last update I showed off Cleo's new look and new apartment, and you got a sneak peak at the gene pool mate I chose - Gabriel Walker (I'm sorry I just couldn't keep the Star Wars name ) - but I forget to introduce the most important new family member: Sheila the bulldog! She so cute-ugly, I love her to death Anyway, Cleo and Gabe hit it off right away, and Gabe helped her move her things in. He stuck around for awhile after she got settled in, and they got to know each other a bit.
Cleo learned that he's a little nerdy (he loves reading), and a little romantic...some subtle flirts may have been exchanged
She got a text not long after he left that just made her heart melt. She was thrilled to have such a sweet (and adorable) neighbor
Annnd this is when I realized that apartments and dogs don't mix well... Cleo took her on a walk to go potty, because she won't just go outside on her own. Which honestly makes sense, like there's an elevator to operate and everything, but it's mildly annoying. Whatever, it was a good excuse to get Cleo out of the house and spread conservation awareness, which she was required to do for her new job.
But of course no one was around. Just lots and lots of trash

Sheila's a cough potato and actually hates walks, so that just added to the annoyance. Poor Sheila fell asleep like three times on their short walk and immediately passed out as soon as they got home
At least it gave Cleo time to start working on her logic skill, which she needed for her new job. She spent the rest of the night curled up on the couch with a good book and a very sleepy Sheila.
All in all, this living-on-her-own thing was going pretty well! (I just had to include this pic because I really love the twinkly lights above her bed )
That is, until she woke up to a text from Gabe saying HE GOT MARRIED!! He was in my "played households" so this very thing wouldn't happen, but MCCC got me anyway
Sure enough, his new bride, Chelsea Greene (I'm almost not even mad 'cause it's a Greene lol), was moved in and checking the mail by sunrise
Cleo was heartbroken. She mad the saddest plate of scrambled eggs you've ever seen, then shuffled off to work without even replying to Gabe's text. Poor girl
On the bright side, she got a promotion at work! That definitely helped lift her spirits a bit, and she had a new work task to take her mind off her forbidden crush. Win-win!
Cleo ran into even more new faces when she got home, and that's when I remembered that prior to her sudden and unexpected marriage, Chelsea was a single parent of two teenage sons and had adopted a big dog...needless to say, the apartment complex got a lot busier and a lot louder real quick Not to mention, the oldest son didn't seem to happy about his new living arrangements and kept stomping up and down the balcony with a real attitude *insert eye roll emoji*
Cleo tried to zone it out and focus on her new work project, but she got another text from Gabe. "...or do whatever your heart desires" ??? Excuse me, was that a flirt???
She let him come over and hang out for a bit, figuring he just wanted to get away from the angry teenager stomping around his apartment (he did). She awkwardly congratulated him on his marriage with finger guns, as one does Preeetty sure he took it as a flirt, because he got all flirty and romantic after that and ran back home to his wife lol.
As Gabe left, another man - a stranger - arrived. He introduced himself as Caleb Vatore and asked if he could come inside to talk...
Of course Cleo invited him in. She knew exactly what he was - a vampire - and immediately called him out on it. He seemed like he expected her reaction, and promptly explained that "the coven" was aware of her vast knowledge of vampires, and that they have been watching her. He also explained that he was what's known as a "free" vampire - one not under the coven's control, who walks among normal sims and lives a relatively normal life - and he would be happy to make her one as well, if only so she wouldn't be tempted to seek out the coven.
First, she had to allow him to drink some of her blood, so she would know the pain and confusion a normal sim felt if she ever chose to feed on one (or, at least, that's what he told her). Then, she had to drink some of his blood, which would grant her a taste of his great power and begin the transformation...
And so it began. For days, she felt nothing but pain, as if a rat was gnawing away at her insides. It grew worse when she ate, but she was so hungry all the time...
Her only comfort was Sheila, who seemed completely unbothered by the whole thing. She was just happy to be getting cuddles
The weekend came, and she got a call from her dad asking her to come over and spend some time with the family. She was still in pain, but strangely enough, she'd somewhat gotten used to it. Plus, she really wanted to use the family fabricator... (Look at cute lil Auggie trying to steal all the attention lol)
While she was working on some home decor for her new apartment, she got a call from Gabe! All of his subtle flirts and impromptu visits - she had chalked it up to him just being a flirtatious person. BUT NO, he's definitely into her. She briefly considered it, but she decided it wasn't worth the potential drama...yet. Hell, she technically hadn't even broken up with her long-distance high school sweetheart Kaori...yet
She was glad she declined his offer, because a stabbing pain overwhelmed her as soon as she got off the phone.
Storm: Uh...should I call a doctor?
Cleo: "No, it's probably totally fine! Gotta go, see ya later, dad!"
It only got worse on the way home. By the time she reached the mail room, she couldn't walk any farther...
Dark, vampiric energy engulfed her - the transformation was complete!
The pain didn't go away, it was just...different. Cleo had no idea what to do, so she sought out the only person she knew that might be able to help: Caleb. She knew he lived in a town called "Forgotten Hollow," and with the help of her old vampire tomes, she managed to locate the mysterious place. And what a beautiful place it was...
She found Caleb living in a completely normal house, with a completely normal family. She had no idea how he managed it - the smell of their plasma drove her crazy the moment she walked in. Caleb offered her a "plasma pack" and escorted her to his study, where they played a game of chess to get her mind off it.
The plasma pack helped, but it didn't stop the gnawing emptiness in her stomach. After hours of seemingly endless chess matches, she couldn't take it anymore. She lashed out with an uncontrollable hiss and demanded Caleb teach her something useful.
They wandered into the woods behind his house until Caleb found a satisfactory clearing for her training. She was excited to learn, but she couldn't shake the feeling that someone was watching them...
Still, she learned a trick or two. She's not very graceful, but her training is coming along nicely.
At this point, Caleb excused himself, as he had to go to work. She asked where he worked, especially so late at night, but he declined to tell. Curiosity overcame her, and she followed him...
...to a secret nightclub under the Forgotten Hollow cemetery! (Though how secret could it really be if Uncle Laurent found it? Speaking of Laurent, he looked super suspish...having yet another affair, are we? ) Cleo played it cool and hung out near the bar, trying not to draw Caleb's attention, which honestly wasn't too difficult seeing as he was in the very loud, very flashy DJ booth.
She somehow drew the attention of an absolutely gorgeous woman though The woman charmingly introduced herself as Pablita, Master Vampire of the Forgotten Hollow Coven. Cleo's interest was piqued at the mention of "the coven," but she heeded Caleb's warning and didn't press. Pablita, on the other hand, was very inquisitive about Cleo's transformation, in particular if she had "fed" yet. She explained that plasma packs are fine in a pinch, but they're nothing compared to fresh, warm blood. Cleo's mouth watered at the thought...
Cleo couldn't get the thought of fresh, warm blood out of her mind all night. Eventually, she found a distant cousin (from great-aunt Eden's side) in the crowd and used her vampire powers to compel her for a drink.
Pablita was right - plasma packs were awful compared to the real thing! For the first time since she became a vampire, she felt strong, powerful, and finally completely fed.
She might've overdone it a bit, but cousin Sandra probably won't remember anyway. What's the worst that could happen?
Cleo followed Pablita around like a lost puppy for the rest of the night, even risking Caleb seeing her to join Pablita on the dance floor. She was just so cool and smart and gorgeous...she couldn't resist the master vampire's intoxicating presence.
Suddenly, Cleo woke up in her bed, and it was bright daylight out. She briefly wondered if it was all a dream, or maybe it was real and Caleb spotted her and whisked her away. Either way, she felt amazing - still as strong and well-fed as the night before. And when flirty-neighbor-Gabe stopped by to say hi, her newfound power gave her the strength to flirtatiously offer him a key to her place.
Cleo: "Come over any time..."
And just in case he didn't get the hint, she kissed him!!!
AND she had the audacity to go "check the mail" and introduce herself to his WIFE right after the kiss! Vampire Cleo is something else (The worst part is that Chelsea's actually really nice and thought the "polite introduction" was genuine...she doesn't deserve the heartbreak that's coming her way )
Cleo forced Sheila to go on yet another dreaded short walk (this dog is seriously SO lazy lol) and got a surprise text from Gabe... Oh the "water is out," huh? Suuure you can come over...alone...half-naked...
Cleo RAN home (carrying Sheila of course, because Sheila does NOT run ) and sure enough, Gabe strutted over in nothing but a towel. Romance was in the air, even Sheila went into heat right then and there
I mean, he actually did take a shower...so at least he has plausible deniability?
By the time he got out of the shower and threw on some clothes, Cleo was in a very flirty mood and had a very dirty movie playing. She invited Gabe to stay and watch, which of course he accepted. We all know what he came here for
They didn't even finish the movie before they jumped into bed together. Tsk tsk. (jk i'm so here for the drama lol)
Gabe accidentally fell asleep and woke up in her bed. Ooo he's got some explaining to do to Mrs. Walker But his sheer panic didn't stop Cleo from blocking his exit and holding his clothes hostage in exchange for his signature on her NAP repeal petition
Gabe: "Of course I'll sign it. Now can I have my clothes and go beg my wife for forgiveness?"
Cleo: "Sure! Just one more thing..."
I mean...if you're gonna get murdered...you should make it worth it, right?
Cleo: "Bye! Good luck explaining this to your wife!" *insert skull emoji cause i'm DEAD*

@MayaRose1138 If any founders/gene pool mates have traits from packs you don't own, randomizing is totally okay! Or picking a similar trait would work too (like 'paranoid' from the StrangerVille pack could be swapped for 'erratic', 'jealous' from City Living could be swapped for 'romantic,' etc.). I also approve of using the Emersons! I can't wait to use them when I rebuild Brindleton Bay again. And yup the cat/dog hangout lot traits spawn stray animals! I built a cafe with the cat hangout trait for my first attempt at rebuilding Brindleton Bay, because I heard of a coffee shop in Seattle where you can get coffee and hang out with/adopt cats. I even put food bowls and cat toys in the cafe so the strays would be enticed to come inside
I've been away again, of course. You're probably used to it by now, but I promise I'll keep coming back. At least there's that Work is starting to quiet down, because the end of the year is nearing. Since I don't have too much stuff too do I hope I can catch up in the next couple of days. I want to read up on all of your families. I might get back to playing myself too, if I can convince my boyfriend to let me use the PC for a night lol. Another downside of COVID is that he's always home and I can't have the computer to myself for a few hours

I have lots of pictures and I'm ready to move on to the next generation. But I have to sort these pictures, work a bit on them,... I'm somewhat stressed. Since Christmas is around the corner, I went back to my home country to spend time with my parents on Christmas (hello quarantine ), so I'm still working for the Irish company from my home country. I'm also preparing my move to the UK, so that keeps me busy

I’ve only got a handful of packs so far and I noticed that there are some traits listed for the couple that are from Strangerville and Eco Lifestyle (I think), so they’re not going to show up in my game. Thank you - I’ll try to do them justice!

I’m thinking that when I do the challenge, at least for the first generation, I’ll have to have to cat and dog hangout lot traits because then it’s going to look like the couple are providing shelter for stray animals . But I need to work out how to get the animals to breed because I still can’t get Nikki pregnant with kittens 😔. She rejects every single cat that Naoko suggests to mate with. I have no idea what to do and looking up answers on google doesn’t help. I think they’re going to have to adopt a second cat and see whether that works better.
Hi everybody I've been away for so long & I've missed so many updates
Just wanted to let you know that I'll try to read all and catch up this weekend, since now my uni classes are almost over (though... my exam session is about to start *eyerolls forever* - I haven't given up on the challenge, as a matter of fact I can't wait to jump back into the game!
Just a few more days and I'll know what y'all been up to while I was away
Life had been quiet for some while. So I let the teens hang out with other teens.
Emilia was talking to Brooks as her sister Helena has spoken often about him.
Henry on the other hand was more keen to learn more skills.
Back in the house, I caught Emilia and her childhood friend Ayla talking like this.
Samuel seems to like all of his siblings except Henry. They're having a troublesome relationship. But he and Helena get along very well. Probably because both are seeing someone.
Speaking of, this beauty showed up at the door.
So what does a good (evil and mean) boyfriend do? Showing lots of affection
Rose and Zeke also worked on mutual projects. Initially, it was just Rose's project but Zeke worked on it so often, I declared it his as well
We had lots of frequent visitors to the house.
They're not officially a couple yet but I have to admit, they are cute.
While Helena was busy with her non-boyfriend, Samuel got invited by his girlfriend Layla. That's where he met her entire family.
I'm pretty sure the girls are triplets. But of course, Samuel only has eyes for his chosen one.
He was so nice to her (he always is despite his traits), I really enjoyed watching him and had minor heir regrets.
I mean, it's probably not the best to use the shower that way when you had just met her family but who am I to judge?
Back at the house, Rose and Zeke had finally finished their project. It's all for science, I'll tell you that.
Emilia got inspired by her mom and her siblings doing yoga, so she tried it herself.
Henry on the other hand tried to gain some muscles with the help of his dad. Look how proud he is.
Later that night, a familiar face showed up again: Brooks. This time, Helena decided to be a bit more brave.
He was taken by surprise but the slight smile on his face seems that he is okay with their development.
Look at Helena giving Diana another side-eye. It's like she's trying to tell her "I've got a man, what about you?"
Of course, I didn't forget Shiloh. She is still loved by everyone (especially Helena!) but has turned into an elder Soon, her time will come :-(
Helena and Brooks also made things official.
Meanwhile my heir simply enjoyed not having any relationship stress. He's such a good teen and smiling most of the time!
Layla also showed up often at their front door.
Much to my shock and Layla's surprise, Samuel was ready for the next step of their relationship.
She said yes. Now we have two mean teens who are engaged. Well, congrats I guess.
As if it was the perfect moment, the love festival rolled around.
Helena was the first one who rushed to the love guru and asked about her current relationship.
I don't remember the exact words but it was something like "troublesome and difficult road but it could lead to happiness". Whatever that is supposed to mean. Helena wasn't too happy though.
Zeke and Rose didn't even pay attention to all of that. He rather tried to seduce his wife with a song.
Samuel on the other hand asked the love guru for some advice as well. To be honest, I have no idea what her response was. I was busy watching all these sims
I did however spot Samuel handing a rose to Layla.
Next time I went back, they tied the knot on the spot
At home, Helena did her own sort of celebration.
Then, it was time for Christmas. With all the stuff happening, they bought a different and already decorated Christmas tree.
Helena invited her boyfriend while Samuel (still a teen ) invited his wife. They all sang together and neither Rose nor Zeke seem to be bothered that Samuel had gotten married without their consent.
Then it was time for opening presents. Of course everyone got one.
Everyone had a great time
When it was time to go back to school, Henry met a new girl. She had apparently just moved into town with her family.
He even got invited to her place a few days later. That's where he met Cleo's mom Thali plus her younger brother Thaddeus. He was also surprised to see that this family moved into his grandparent's place.
Over there he also met Cleo's dad and her aunt Thalia, who currently lives there as well but is looking for her own place.
Next thing I know, when everyone was at school or work, I had to say goodbye to Shiloh I will miss her so much!
When the kids got home from school, they invited their friends over. They were all grieving differently.
Ayla was there for her best friend she had known since they were young and hugged her for comfort.
I'm not sure if it's part of the grieving but this happened:

Apparently, Cleo had told her aunt Thalia about the loss of their furry friend because she showed up as well.
Someone was very happy to see her.
Finally, Rose and Zeke talked to Brooks. I think they just wanted to make sure that he and Helena take all the time in the world and don't need to rush things.
Too bad, Helena had some news of her own.
So, what happened? A marriage, a great loss, a pregnancy, two birthdays (Henry & Samuel but I forgot to take pictures) and I settled on an heir...
@Wentcrazy - wow, you’ve got a lot of things going on! Teenage marriages, pregnancies... I can’t wait to see who you’ve chosen as heir!
Naoko and Finn now have a son Carlin, who is wild and inherited his dad’s red hair and mum’s brown eyes. He has just got a little sister, Akira, and there’s one more baby on the way. I’ve discovered Naoko can take Carlin to work with her so he can work on his skills. He mainly stays in the playroom while his mum works. She has got the clinic to 4 stars but I don’t know how to get it to five! In further news, Nikki finally had a kitten but I had to adopt a second cat (downloaded from the Gallery) to make it happen. So once the new baby arrives, the house will be full!
@Everyone - Thanks so much for your sweet words about my sister. The good news is the triplets don't have COVID thankfully and my sister is feeling alright.
@JordanNicoleJJ - Oh wow! Cleo has had quite the adventure lol. She is leaning into this vampire lifestyle. And I can't believe Gabe just showed up "to shower," I think he had ulterior motives all along.

I miss you guys!!! I WILL be back. This is just a crazy time of year, which of course is even crazier with the pandemic. I'm updating my game right now and can't wait to check out the new skin tones and improved hairs. Though I won't have enough time to actually play today I hope to have time to play a bit and comment over the weekend.

@Wentcrazy My dogs are super lazy too - and they're both normally active breeds! Not that I'm complaining, cause I'm also super lazy, so thankfully they don't want walks all the time Forgotten Hollow was gorgeous when Cleo visited!! The sun almost killed her but it was worth it for the screenshots lol. I replaced the big mansion on the hill with a graveyard/"secret" underground nightclub from the gallery in my game. It's not very secretive though, because every townie in my game seems to know about it I'm so excited for evil vampire Cleo...I don't feel as bad about creating drama with her
Yesss I've been needing an update from you, I missed your beautiful sims! I love seeing all the teens flirting it up! Samuel and his pink-haired gf are the cuuutest omg I ship them so hard. And Helena's potential bf is super cute too! OMG I recognize Layla's family - they're one of my fav Sulani families!! Are any of the kids mermaids?? Cause I think the mom is! It'd be so cool if you got a mermaid in the family. "For science" uh huh, sure Rose & Zeke, whatever you say It's so cool that they built a rocket though. Rose really is the most bad*** super scientist ever. Zeke is seriously so gorgeous with that hair style + beard, I'm totally giving him a makeover as soon as I get in game Helena and Brooks are so cute together, I approve! Helena's the master of the side-eye, has been since childhood Aww no I hate when pets turn into elders cause they pass so soon after But I'm glad Shiloh's still getting all the love in the meantime Yesss congrats to Helena and Brooks, and Samuel and Layla!! Of course dad "supervises" the girls but doesn't care whatsoever that Samuel eloped as a teenager Your Thalia is absolutely gorgeous I adore her sweet, "girl next door" look. @MayaRose1138 That's strange that Nikki won't mate with any cats. Come to think of it, I've only ever bred two animals in the same household, so maybe that is a requirement? I feel like it shouldn't be though. Definitely strange.

@MayaRose1138 That's strange that Nikki won't mate with any cats. Come to think of it, I've only ever bred two animals in the same household, so maybe that is a requirement? I feel like it shouldn't be though. Definitely strange.
I can’t find anything to say that cats shouldn’t be able to breed with strays or cats from other households but messages going back a couple of years indicate there was issues with breeding cats in general. It does present a problem if I always have to have two adult cats in the household to get kittens though. And apparently, dogs have a lower percentage of getting pregnant than cats do, so that would make it even worse. If you had to have two adult dogs and two adult cats to get puppies and kittens, that doesn’t leave much room for sims! I think the Emersons will have to decide between having cats or dogs in the household and since I’m partial to cats in real life....
Incidentally, Akira aged into a charming toddler, with her mother’s blonde hair and father’s green eyes. Little sister Miki should be born within the next day. So when I take Naoko to the clinic next (she’s working Mondays to Fridays), she’ll have two toddlers with her. And Carlin is already living up to his wild nature - first thing he did upon arriving on the second day was to run around naked!
Did anyone realise that even when the surgical station is broken, it can still be used? I accidentally clicked on it before it could be repaired and discovered this. Fortunately, no animals were harmed during this discovery 🤣.
I’ve been trying to save my first game but with no luck. I can’t save the household with their inventory intact, and I can’t save the house to the library with the furniture intact, apparently. Every time I try with the latter, then put the household in, all the inventories and furniture is gone, which is a nuisance when I have all that Star Wars collection from when Jade when to Batuu. Can anyone tell me what I’m doing wrong? I’ve changed all the kids to aliens rather than hybrids but that still didn’t seem to help.
So we just found out that my husband's grandparents (who are in their 90s have COVID) I'm trying to remain optimistic but they are in a nursing home across the country
I have been able to decorate the gen 3 house in small spurts here and there. I ended up using @JordanNicoleJJ 's shell to cut down on my limited game time.
With the house mostly done it was time for the heiress to age up and for whatever reason, she was not exactly thrilled with the cake her dad made.
Her traits turned out good enough for me to not have second thoughts
The first thing I did was fly through Uni — sorry no pics of the torture but Hayden managed two degrees during my hospital visits with the triplets.
Once Hayden got all moved into her new place I made the mistake of having her making a very non-vegetarian meal. Oops!
Luckily her big sister Iris called and saved her with a trip to the local restaurant (by @Heckstress17 )
To her surprise Iris also invited their brother, Gideon. It was nice to catch up with her siblings.
She also learned that Gideon was dating a girl named Thalia and things were going really great. He couldn't stop gushing over his new beau
Before settling into her career and life in Evergreen Harbor, Hayden decided to take a trip. (and my sister also bought me the new pack as thanks for being with the triplets which was super sweet)

Since it was only a weekend vacation for her didn't get to see much but she had fun.
As soon as she got back the inspector was waiting for her at the door to give her the news that her bill would be going up (despite having a garden )
After her long flight back home Hayden was less than impressed with this lady and let her know as much. (I did some research and the gardens don't even count towards the green gardening NAP it's actually the bee box and the insect box)
To test that I had Hayden get an insect box and soon enough another inspector showed up and went straight to the box. I think this is silly that gardens don't count towards an NAP with gardening in the name and description

Just a quick update - Carlin is such a contradiction. He got angry because of too much dancing at the clinic (he was on free will so I didn’t direct him to that activity), so he went and destroyed the dollhouse. Then he had a sad moodlet because ‘someone destroyed the dollhouse’ 🤣. And Naoko didn’t have time to repair it straight away, so he had to live with the consequences of his actions!

@Rawla You're back, yay!! I was wondering how your Greenes were fairing, I remembered the cooking fire! The nursery and the workshop are amazing! Lol I totally don't blame you if you fence off the cowplant. It is an Aiyden-eating monster! The poor, poor Greenes, what an empty hosue! I kinda love the "poor" stage though when the house is super empty and unfinished, it gives me something to strive for.
I'm sorta back. LOL I'll keep peeking in from time to time. I enjoy the "poor" stage too sometimes. Its fun to improve their living condition as they grow.

I didn't get time to play this weekend, but I'm planning on playing tonight. My bf is in the hospital passing a kidney stone right now (he gets them all the time, like weekly-monthly, but once or twice a year it's bad enough that he goes to the ER), so I have a few hours to distract myself with sims before he gets home lol.
Good news - I’ve been able to save my first save! My Star Wars family isn’t gone! I put everything from their inventories into the house, saved the house, saved the family, then downloaded them both into a new save, and it worked! So, as long as nothing else goes wrong, I should be able to continue playing it.
In my vet game, Carlin was a nuisance toddler. He got angry for dancing too long one day, broke the dollhouse, then got sad that someone broke the dollhouse 😒. Fortunately, he has aged up into an active child but his empathy was almost completely in the red when that happened, so I’m hoping he can pull it back to at least neutral!
Carlin and Akira are good genetic mixes of their parents but Miki is a clone of her mother. At the moment, I’m thinking about keeping this family in the save but when I’ve worked out how to get a five-star clinic, I’ll evict them and put the Emerson’s in. I already have worked out how I’m going to start the story!
So now I am sick and I am not really sure with what exactly. I got my COVID test on Tuesday so we shall see what the results come back with. I am feeling a little bit better today (as in I down want to just curl up into a ball and sleep). With a little bit of sim time this morning I focused my energy on decorating the outdoors spaces of Hayden's place since it's all I have the energy to do. I've played a bit here and there but not enough for an actual update.
I am hoping to get some more time in tonight now that I am feeling a tad better but we'll see. Happy Simming ♥

Because to buy the house in Brindleton Bay, even when it’s not fully furnished, and the vet clinic (which I started making yesterday), will cost an awful lot of simoleons!

Thank you . I’ll add it in as being a grant or something similar to launch the business. I’ve got the vet clinic done - based on a cottage I used to live in - but I’m not sure what to do with the backyard. Maybe I’ll have to shift the whole building further back on the block and landscape the front better! I’ve also got the story worked out as to how to start off but I’m still debating the hereditary skill. I’d do knitting but I don’t have that pack yet. Painting is a possibility, as is herbalism, which I’m experimenting with in the Star Wars save. I gave Leia the Outdoor Enthusiast aspiration and the family spent the weekend in Granite Falls, which I’ve discovered is not a lot of time for finding things. So I’m taking them back there on the weekend, where Obi-Wan will have his YA birthday and Leia can make friends again with the Hermit.
Leia is a great sim, with four character values in the range, but she looks permanently gloomy. So I’m thinking I’ll add Han Solo into the household when Obi-Wan moves out and get Leia married to him, then move her out as well. That will give the household room to get a dog, since Rey rolled Dog Lover upon aging up.
There are like six birthdays in 10 days at the moment : Poe aged to teen, then Jade to adult two days later, then next day Rey to teen. Then in two days, Obi-Wan will be a YA, then two days later, the twins become teens, then another two days, and Leia will be a YA! It’s a never ending cycle!

I’ve played a couple of days with Naoko and Finn, testing out both the house and running a vet clinic. I put a cat welcome mat at the front door but didn’t realise that would invite all the neighbourhood strays to come visit! I counted at least four uninvited cats at one point. Naoko adopted Nikki, a British Longhair, who tolerates most of the intruders but has had a couple of fights with some of them. Is it normal for strays to just come in uninvited? It will definitely work for storytelling purposes in the actual challenge 🤣.
Naoko has had the vet clinic open for three hours and had a number of pets arrive in that time. Her skill is up to level 5. So far, this has been pretty easy but I have a feeling it won’t stay that way. Especially as a Naoko and Finn are expecting their first baby courtesy of risky woohoo! Why is it that the first children in the family have always been boys so far?
I’m thinking about using the Emerson’s as my founding couple. Since I don’t have some packs, can I randomise the traits and aspirations?
Edit: I’ve figured out the stray cat thing. I added Cat Hangout as a lot trait - I didn’t know that was an invitation! I’ve had Naoko try and befriend some of the strays so that her cat Nikki can have kittens but so far, Nikki and the other cats have rejected each other 😔.

Last update I showed off Cleo's new look and new apartment, and you got a sneak peak at the gene pool mate I chose - Gabriel Walker (I'm sorry I just couldn't keep the Star Wars name
Cleo learned that he's a little nerdy (he loves reading), and a little romantic...some subtle flirts may have been exchanged
She got a text not long after he left that just made her heart melt. She was thrilled to have such a sweet (and adorable) neighbor
Annnd this is when I realized that apartments and dogs don't mix well... Cleo took her on a walk to go potty, because she won't just go outside on her own. Which honestly makes sense, like there's an elevator to operate and everything, but it's mildly annoying. Whatever, it was a good excuse to get Cleo out of the house and spread conservation awareness, which she was required to do for her new job.
But of course no one was around. Just lots and lots of trash

Sheila's a cough potato and actually hates walks, so that just added to the annoyance. Poor Sheila fell asleep like three times on their short walk and immediately passed out as soon as they got home
At least it gave Cleo time to start working on her logic skill, which she needed for her new job. She spent the rest of the night curled up on the couch with a good book and a very sleepy Sheila.
All in all, this living-on-her-own thing was going pretty well! (I just had to include this pic because I really love the twinkly lights above her bed
That is, until she woke up to a text from Gabe saying HE GOT MARRIED!! He was in my "played households" so this very thing wouldn't happen, but MCCC got me anyway
Sure enough, his new bride, Chelsea Greene (I'm almost not even mad 'cause it's a Greene lol), was moved in and checking the mail by sunrise
Cleo was heartbroken. She mad the saddest plate of scrambled eggs you've ever seen, then shuffled off to work without even replying to Gabe's text. Poor girl
On the bright side, she got a promotion at work! That definitely helped lift her spirits a bit, and she had a new work task to take her mind off her forbidden crush. Win-win!
Cleo ran into even more new faces when she got home, and that's when I remembered that prior to her sudden and unexpected marriage, Chelsea was a single parent of two teenage sons and had adopted a big dog...needless to say, the apartment complex got a lot busier and a lot louder real quick
Cleo tried to zone it out and focus on her new work project, but she got another text from Gabe. "...or do whatever your heart desires" ??? Excuse me, was that a flirt???
She let him come over and hang out for a bit, figuring he just wanted to get away from the angry teenager stomping around his apartment (he did). She awkwardly congratulated him on his marriage with finger guns, as one does
As Gabe left, another man - a stranger - arrived. He introduced himself as Caleb Vatore and asked if he could come inside to talk...
Of course Cleo invited him in. She knew exactly what he was - a vampire - and immediately called him out on it. He seemed like he expected her reaction, and promptly explained that "the coven" was aware of her vast knowledge of vampires, and that they have been watching her. He also explained that he was what's known as a "free" vampire - one not under the coven's control, who walks among normal sims and lives a relatively normal life - and he would be happy to make her one as well, if only so she wouldn't be tempted to seek out the coven.
First, she had to allow him to drink some of her blood, so she would know the pain and confusion a normal sim felt if she ever chose to feed on one (or, at least, that's what he told her). Then, she had to drink some of his blood, which would grant her a taste of his great power and begin the transformation...
And so it began. For days, she felt nothing but pain, as if a rat was gnawing away at her insides. It grew worse when she ate, but she was so hungry all the time...
Her only comfort was Sheila, who seemed completely unbothered by the whole thing. She was just happy to be getting cuddles
The weekend came, and she got a call from her dad asking her to come over and spend some time with the family. She was still in pain, but strangely enough, she'd somewhat gotten used to it. Plus, she really wanted to use the family fabricator... (Look at cute lil Auggie trying to steal all the attention lol)
While she was working on some home decor for her new apartment, she got a call from Gabe! All of his subtle flirts and impromptu visits - she had chalked it up to him just being a flirtatious person. BUT NO, he's definitely into her. She briefly considered it, but she decided it wasn't worth the potential drama...yet. Hell, she technically hadn't even broken up with her long-distance high school sweetheart Kaori...yet
She was glad she declined his offer, because a stabbing pain overwhelmed her as soon as she got off the phone.
Storm: Uh...should I call a doctor?
Cleo: "No, it's probably totally fine! Gotta go, see ya later, dad!"
It only got worse on the way home. By the time she reached the mail room, she couldn't walk any farther...
Dark, vampiric energy engulfed her - the transformation was complete!
The pain didn't go away, it was just...different. Cleo had no idea what to do, so she sought out the only person she knew that might be able to help: Caleb. She knew he lived in a town called "Forgotten Hollow," and with the help of her old vampire tomes, she managed to locate the mysterious place. And what a beautiful place it was...
She found Caleb living in a completely normal house, with a completely normal family. She had no idea how he managed it - the smell of their plasma drove her crazy the moment she walked in. Caleb offered her a "plasma pack" and escorted her to his study, where they played a game of chess to get her mind off it.
The plasma pack helped, but it didn't stop the gnawing emptiness in her stomach. After hours of seemingly endless chess matches, she couldn't take it anymore. She lashed out with an uncontrollable hiss and demanded Caleb teach her something useful.
They wandered into the woods behind his house until Caleb found a satisfactory clearing for her training. She was excited to learn, but she couldn't shake the feeling that someone was watching them...
Still, she learned a trick or two. She's not very graceful, but her training is coming along nicely.
At this point, Caleb excused himself, as he had to go to work. She asked where he worked, especially so late at night, but he declined to tell. Curiosity overcame her, and she followed him...
...to a secret nightclub under the Forgotten Hollow cemetery! (Though how secret could it really be if Uncle Laurent found it?
She somehow drew the attention of an absolutely gorgeous woman though
Cleo couldn't get the thought of fresh, warm blood out of her mind all night. Eventually, she found a distant cousin (from great-aunt Eden's side) in the crowd and used her vampire powers to compel her for a drink.
Pablita was right - plasma packs were awful compared to the real thing! For the first time since she became a vampire, she felt strong, powerful, and finally completely fed.
She might've overdone it a bit, but cousin Sandra probably won't remember anyway. What's the worst that could happen?
Cleo followed Pablita around like a lost puppy for the rest of the night, even risking Caleb seeing her to join Pablita on the dance floor. She was just so cool and smart and gorgeous...she couldn't resist the master vampire's intoxicating presence.
Suddenly, Cleo woke up in her bed, and it was bright daylight out. She briefly wondered if it was all a dream, or maybe it was real and Caleb spotted her and whisked her away. Either way, she felt amazing - still as strong and well-fed as the night before. And when flirty-neighbor-Gabe stopped by to say hi, her newfound power gave her the strength to flirtatiously offer him a key to her place.
Cleo: "Come over any time..."
And just in case he didn't get the hint, she kissed him!!!
AND she had the audacity to go "check the mail" and introduce herself to his WIFE right after the kiss! Vampire Cleo is something else

@MayaRose1138 If any founders/gene pool mates have traits from packs you don't own, randomizing is totally okay! Or picking a similar trait would work too (like 'paranoid' from the StrangerVille pack could be swapped for 'erratic', 'jealous' from City Living could be swapped for 'romantic,' etc.). I also approve of using the Emersons! I can't wait to use them when I rebuild Brindleton Bay again. And yup the cat/dog hangout lot traits spawn stray animals! I built a cafe with the cat hangout trait for my first attempt at rebuilding Brindleton Bay, because I heard of a coffee shop in Seattle where you can get coffee and hang out with/adopt cats. I even put food bowls and cat toys in the cafe so the strays would be enticed to come inside
I've been away again, of course. You're probably used to it by now, but I promise I'll keep coming back. At least there's that

Life had been quiet for some while. So I let the teens hang out with other teens.
Emilia was talking to Brooks as her sister Helena has spoken often about him.
Henry on the other hand was more keen to learn more skills.
Back in the house, I caught Emilia and her childhood friend Ayla talking like this.
Samuel seems to like all of his siblings except Henry. They're having a troublesome relationship. But he and Helena get along very well. Probably because both are seeing someone.
Speaking of, this beauty showed up at the door.
So what does a good (evil and mean) boyfriend do? Showing lots of affection
Rose and Zeke also worked on mutual projects. Initially, it was just Rose's project but Zeke worked on it so often, I declared it his as well
We had lots of frequent visitors to the house.
They're not officially a couple yet but I have to admit, they are cute.
While Helena was busy with her non-boyfriend, Samuel got invited by his girlfriend Layla. That's where he met her entire family.
I'm pretty sure the girls are triplets. But of course, Samuel only has eyes for his chosen one.
He was so nice to her (he always is despite his traits), I really enjoyed watching him and had minor heir regrets.
I mean, it's probably not the best to use the shower that way when you had just met her family but who am I to judge?
Back at the house, Rose and Zeke had finally finished their project. It's all for science, I'll tell you that.
Emilia got inspired by her mom and her siblings doing yoga, so she tried it herself.
Henry on the other hand tried to gain some muscles with the help of his dad. Look how proud he is.
Later that night, a familiar face showed up again: Brooks. This time, Helena decided to be a bit more brave.
He was taken by surprise but the slight smile on his face seems that he is okay with their development.

Of course, I didn't forget Shiloh. She is still loved by everyone (especially Helena!) but has turned into an elder

Zeke and Rose didn't even pay attention to all of that. He rather tried to seduce his wife with a song.
Samuel on the other hand asked the love guru for some advice as well. To be honest, I have no idea what her response was. I was busy watching all these sims

Next time I went back, they tied the knot on the spot
At home, Helena did her own sort of celebration.
Then, it was time for Christmas. With all the stuff happening, they bought a different and already decorated Christmas tree.

Over there he also met Cleo's dad and her aunt Thalia, who currently lives there as well but is looking for her own place.
Next thing I know, when everyone was at school or work, I had to say goodbye to Shiloh
When the kids got home from school, they invited their friends over. They were all grieving differently.
Ayla was there for her best friend she had known since they were young and hugged her for comfort.

So, what happened? A marriage, a great loss, a pregnancy, two birthdays (Henry & Samuel but I forgot to take pictures) and I settled on an heir...

Naoko and Finn now have a son Carlin, who is wild and inherited his dad’s red hair and mum’s brown eyes. He has just got a little sister, Akira, and there’s one more baby on the way. I’ve discovered Naoko can take Carlin to work with her so he can work on his skills. He mainly stays in the playroom while his mum works. She has got the clinic to 4 stars but I don’t know how to get it to five! In further news, Nikki finally had a kitten but I had to adopt a second cat (downloaded from the Gallery) to make it happen. So once the new baby arrives, the house will be full!

@MayaRose1138 That's strange that Nikki won't mate with any cats. Come to think of it, I've only ever bred two animals in the same household, so maybe that is a requirement? I feel like it shouldn't be though. Definitely strange.

I can’t find anything to say that cats shouldn’t be able to breed with strays or cats from other households but messages going back a couple of years indicate there was issues with breeding cats in general. It does present a problem if I always have to have two adult cats in the household to get kittens though. And apparently, dogs have a lower percentage of getting pregnant than cats do, so that would make it even worse. If you had to have two adult dogs and two adult cats to get puppies and kittens, that doesn’t leave much room for sims! I think the Emersons will have to decide between having cats or dogs in the household and since I’m partial to cats in real life....
Incidentally, Akira aged into a charming toddler, with her mother’s blonde hair and father’s green eyes. Little sister Miki should be born within the next day. So when I take Naoko to the clinic next (she’s working Mondays to Fridays), she’ll have two toddlers with her. And Carlin is already living up to his wild nature - first thing he did upon arriving on the second day was to run around naked!
Did anyone realise that even when the surgical station is broken, it can still be used? I accidentally clicked on it before it could be repaired and discovered this. Fortunately, no animals were harmed during this discovery 🤣.
I’ve been trying to save my first game but with no luck. I can’t save the household with their inventory intact, and I can’t save the house to the library with the furniture intact, apparently. Every time I try with the latter, then put the household in, all the inventories and furniture is gone, which is a nuisance when I have all that Star Wars collection from when Jade when to Batuu. Can anyone tell me what I’m doing wrong? I’ve changed all the kids to aliens rather than hybrids but that still didn’t seem to help.

I have been able to decorate the gen 3 house in small spurts here and there. I ended up using @JordanNicoleJJ 's shell to cut down on my limited game time.
With the house mostly done it was time for the heiress to age up and for whatever reason, she was not exactly thrilled with the cake her dad made.
Her traits turned out good enough for me to not have second thoughts
The first thing I did was fly through Uni — sorry no pics of the torture but Hayden managed two degrees during my hospital visits with the triplets.
Once Hayden got all moved into her new place I made the mistake of having her making a very non-vegetarian meal. Oops!
Luckily her big sister Iris called and saved her with a trip to the local restaurant (by @Heckstress17 )
To her surprise Iris also invited their brother, Gideon. It was nice to catch up with her siblings.
She also learned that Gideon was dating a girl named Thalia and things were going really great. He couldn't stop gushing over his new beau
Before settling into her career and life in Evergreen Harbor, Hayden decided to take a trip. (and my sister also bought me the new pack as thanks for being with the triplets which was super sweet)

After her long flight back home Hayden was less than impressed with this lady and let her know as much. (I did some research and the gardens don't even count towards the green gardening NAP it's actually the bee box and the insect box)
To test that I had Hayden get an insect box and soon enough another inspector showed up and went straight to the box. I think this is silly that gardens don't count towards an NAP with gardening in the name and description

Just a quick update - Carlin is such a contradiction. He got angry because of too much dancing at the clinic (he was on free will so I didn’t direct him to that activity), so he went and destroyed the dollhouse. Then he had a sad moodlet because ‘someone destroyed the dollhouse’ 🤣. And Naoko didn’t have time to repair it straight away, so he had to live with the consequences of his actions!

I didn't get time to play this weekend, but I'm planning on playing tonight. My bf is in the hospital passing a kidney stone right now (he gets them all the time, like weekly-monthly, but once or twice a year it's bad enough that he goes to the ER), so I have a few hours to distract myself with sims before he gets home lol.
In my vet game, Carlin was a nuisance toddler. He got angry for dancing too long one day, broke the dollhouse, then got sad that someone broke the dollhouse 😒. Fortunately, he has aged up into an active child but his empathy was almost completely in the red when that happened, so I’m hoping he can pull it back to at least neutral!
Carlin and Akira are good genetic mixes of their parents but Miki is a clone of her mother. At the moment, I’m thinking about keeping this family in the save but when I’ve worked out how to get a five-star clinic, I’ll evict them and put the Emerson’s in. I already have worked out how I’m going to start the story!

So now I am sick and I am not really sure with what exactly. I got my COVID test on Tuesday so we shall see what the results come back with. I am feeling a little bit better today (as in I down want to just curl up into a ball and sleep). With a little bit of sim time this morning I focused my energy on decorating the outdoors spaces of Hayden's place since it's all I have the energy to do. I've played a bit here and there but not enough for an actual update.
I am hoping to get some more time in tonight now that I am feeling a tad better but we'll see. Happy Simming ♥

Leia is a great sim, with four character values in the range, but she looks permanently gloomy. So I’m thinking I’ll add Han Solo into the household when Obi-Wan moves out and get Leia married to him, then move her out as well. That will give the household room to get a dog, since Rey rolled Dog Lover upon aging up.
There are like six birthdays in 10 days at the moment : Poe aged to teen, then Jade to adult two days later, then next day Rey to teen. Then in two days, Obi-Wan will be a YA, then two days later, the twins become teens, then another two days, and Leia will be a YA! It’s a never ending cycle!
