That screenshot two posts above looks a lot like the area I was born in - in the countryside in Bavaria, Germany. What I've seen from Windenburg so far looks very German/European in general, they definitely nailed that IMO.
The thing is, I have some pretty bad memories of the town I grew up in and my teen years. I moved away from there as soon as I turned 18. So the new world is the one feature about GT I'm not that excited about yet. (Please don't hit me!!!)
However, I'm really curious about the docks that you can kind of see in the beginning of the teaser... I LOVE the seaside. I guess that's where my sims will be living then
It's ok NordicPhoenix! I cringe internally when people mention farming packs... I grew up on a farm and when someone mentions doing that for fun I literally cringe. LOL In reality it's a lot of hard work and totally not my idea of "fun" digital play. rofl We all have our quirks and that's a good thing.
Thankfully, there is that incredible modernized area along the coast that you've already spied and I suspect will love! Yay for variety!!!
@luimistelija I'm not really phobic either, I'm just exaggerating, but it's certainly not my first choice for fun in The Sims. LOL The Black Friday Origin sales are coming up soon, might be a good time to snag GTW.

I would personally love a farming-pack. My family used to live way up in the north in the smallest little mini-village, grandmother was the teacher in the only mini-school. Would love to try it digitally since I grew up smack in the concrete of the big city. When I first got Sims 4 my little kiddo was still tiny tiny. The whole get up several times to feed every night. I played my Sims 4 game in the middle of the night after feedings when the rest of the family slept. 1 hr of ony me-awake and fun time, half asleep at the computer but still. My sim and her husband had a child and I aged that baby up instantly. I just couldn't deal with digital nightly feedings when I just done it 15 min ago in real life. Give it a year and I will look back on it fondly and will probably love playing that part of the game.
Sometimes a little bit of distance just makes it a lot more fun.
Still working on getting my sims in order for GT. Have scaled back since I don't get enough playtime, will just have to build it up while exploring the pack which will be great anyways. Time really seems to crawl now... doesn't it.
Oh gosh yes, the real world definitely influences our perception of what's fun to do in game. I had that same feeling in regard to babies and toddlers with TS3 when my daughter was in that stage. lol It's still not something I'm super into in the game, but I like it being there. It makes for an immersive atmosphere and farming would as well. Variety is the spice of life and if I absolutely adored every single feature of a game, I'd be overwhelmed (or have no life). lol As long as the features are well crafted, I don't really mind that they aren't my cup of tea... as long as they don't leave out supernaturals. We have a serious problem if they do that. haha!
I've been doing some alien genetics experiments and my little scientist is growing on me. I may change my plans for GT and figure out a way to work him into the mix as well. He's really sweet to his alien children, and I like how he didn't neglect them or the alien orphans that also ended up with him. He has grown on me, and is close to aging into an elder. I don't think I want that to happen. rofl I'm attached!
Anyway, I'm excited to check out that new map and eagerly await more news. This EP is going to be a lot of fun, and I wish we already had it in our hands. >.<
The color maps are fine but I liked the blue ones. When you hovered over a neighborhood, you could see it's limits, it would become colorful. Will this new map show neighborhoods distinctions in a similar way? I hope so.
I hope so too. I was lukewarm to the current map screen. It didn't "wow" me and it didn't make me grumpy, either. It does give a rather poor first impression of the beauty of the game's environments, though. I think the color switch will be good, and I can't think of a reason it wouldn't light up like it currently does when you hover over it. You need to know which sub-neighborhood you're clicking on, and that was a simple and effective way to accomplish that... they already have it, why axe it when you're just adding color?
Now I'm curious to know what they planned for the 2 last Tuesday before the release date.
2 other gameplay trailers ? Hmm... I don't know what else they could show us.
2 "movie" trailers ? Yes, I think it will be like "Sul sul", Malpratice and "Still life" trailers.
I'm hoping a walktrough sorta gameplay, where they play for 20 minutes or maybe 10 and just show the city a bit you know. I'd really like to see a bit more!

Explore the New World
The Sims 4 Get Together Expansion Pack* is coming out next month, and it’s all about new ways to get together and go out with groups of Sims. So naturally, they need all sorts of fantastic new locations to go out to! That’s why we built the new World of Windenburg, a visually-striking European-inspired location that looks like nothing you’ve ever seen before in The Sims 4.
Windenburg is jam-packed with things to do and places to see, including three Special Venues, two new Venue types, and some changes to Nightclubs and Bars. Here’s a look at the places your Sims will be able to explore in December.
The Von Haunt Estate. Windenburg’s prized Von Haunt Estate is a historic and enchanted garden property that’s been up kept as a famous museum and tourist attraction. Its most notable landmark is the enormous and perfectly pruned hedge maze where Sims can get lost for hours. Oh, and don’t be surprised if you run into the former Lord and Lady who used to inhabit the location before its new owners took over – even after 100 years of being deceased, they’re still around to entertain and terrify their guests.
The Bluffs. This secluded island is a picturesque and forgotten location that’s perfect for a group of Sims to get away to with no interruption. Facing the gorgeous Windenburg lake view is the bonfire where your Sims can cozy up or compare their best fire dance moves. There’s also a natural pool for swimming (or skinny dipping), and if you’re really patient, you just might catch a glimpse of Windenburg’s elusive sea monster.
The Ancient Ruins. This is by far the best spot for a private Dance Party. By day, it’s a serene and preserved area for the locals to take in, appreciate, and explore. But at night, the huge ruins walls are the perfect backdrop for DIY stage lights, fog, and laser beams that emit from the DJ booth. It’s got a small buildable lot by the party area in case you want to supplement your gathering with any other helpful or fun objects.
The Café Venue. Latte, anyone? At the new Café Venue, your group can order their drinks for here or to go. The new Barista NPC and Espresso Machine are at your service to serve up your favorite frothy beverage and flaky pastry. You can order a pre-work shot that puts you in the perfect emotion to go to work in.
Community Pool Venue. Cannonball!!! While the new Pool Venue type itself will be available for everyone when The Sims 4 Get Together releases, it really shines best with the fun new objects we made specific to this pack. We added a slew of cool new community and natural pool decorations, like pool lanes, new pool trims, and a handful of different pool water colors so you can jazz it up. The most exciting new pool object specific to The Sims 4 Get Together is the Jumping Platform: this object gives your Sims the elevation they need to impress their friends with a flawless backflip or endure a humiliating belly flop.
Nightclub and Bar Changes. To make Windenburg feel really unique, we made some changes to two of the pre-existing Venue types: Nightclubs and Bars. Now, you can visit European-inspired Discotheques and quaint Pubs. We’ve added a number of fun pub games like Darts, Foosball, and Don’t Wake the Llama to bolster the community vibe and keep your Sims hooting it up. There are even special themed nights almost every day of the week, so your Sim and their friends might find themselves in the midst of Ladies’ Night (or Knight Night).
Even more exciting than the things we put into the new World are the things you will build in it, something we think will be made even cooler thanks to the inclusion of two massive 64x64 lots in Windenburg. These are the biggest lots we’ve had in The Sims 4 to date, and we can’t wait to see what you do with them – and the rest of the World – when The Sims 4 Get Together comes out this December.

Maybe they are making tweaks to the map mode. Perhaps it will still have the blue overlay and then get colored in when you select it. Who knows! So many goodies unknown.

I really look forward to this! The emotions are neat in the game, but sometimes they can be a real pain to maintain when you have multiple sims in different careers needing specific emotions. This is a great feature for my busy sims!
As much as stuff like the Dance Machine trait sounds cool and stuff, think I'm going to start a new Sim and have them move to Windenburg when the expansion goes live. My Sim addiction is coming back and I need to play now! x.x

I don't drink coffee IRL anymore but i'm so excited to see how the whole barista/ coffee grinder/ coffee machine works with emotions and buffs.
You know, I remember them saying they want to make the modding world bigger and better and I do think they're learning a lot from modders and what we want in our games. To hear the Clubs in Get Together have amazing options and a lot of them makes me so excited for future packs! This makes me want to have all of the packs haha!
