I think small court-garden houses are cool. They tend to not look very pretty from the street, though, unless the court is in front and the wall is low enough that you can see a little of what's beyond.
Whitehaven Cottage is very nice! @Xinqun The courtyard garden is very nice! Sims will enjoy playing chess on the table there as well as enjoying growing and harvesting plants in the gardening box. It looks nice how you have the two lots of steps up to the front porch. The angling of the front door into the corner looks nice. The lavender along the front of the home looks homely. Very nice layout of the build!
It is a very nice starter
Thanks, @rosemow , @Issabella14 . I'm very fond of this particular build. Something about it says "English, 1930s" to me, but I'm not quite sure what or why.
I'm guessing Green Cabana is modeled after a real-life house, just like your last one? I see space for built-in closets and an odd, enclosed shape by the bathroom that probably contains plumbing. I like the railing separating the main entrance from the living room area, and I wonder whether the real-life model has the living room sunk down a few steps.
The exterior design of Magnolia Terrace is very nice! @Xinqun The roofing is very nice and very nice roof peaked front porch! Sims will enjoy sitting on the seats there, enjoying the sunshine and outdoors air. The open shutter window dormer adds to the nice look of the home,The layout of the interior of the home is nice. Very nice dining area for sims to enjoy the sunshine coming in through the windows whilst eating their meals.
It is a very nice starter!
Mission Starter. You hardly ever see a mission style starter home so i created one.
Mission Starter with Pool has 3 bedrooms, a pool and barbeque, bookcase and boom box, furnished. NoCC
Mission Starter is a very nice home! Very nice design of the exterior of the home! The stone texture of the exterior looks nice, and it looks nice how you have done the front tower. The placement of the windows in the build looks very nice! It looks nice how you have placed the flowers along the front of the home, and the hedging on the front right hand side of the home looks nice. Nice back patio outdoors dining and pool patio. Sims will have fun swimming in the pool,or enjoy cooking on the BBQ and eating the meals outdoors in the air at the picnic table. Very nice layout of the interior of the home! It is great that the home has three bedrooms! It looks nice how you have placed the sofas in the living room facing each other so sims can enjoy talking together face to face. The floor tiling in the kitchen is nice.
The home is a very nice starter!
@Marjia Awesome. I guess the Mission style isn't one that a lot of people are familiar with (I know I'm not) which is why we don't see too much of it. And it pretty much comes boxed with the game, too. I hope we'll be seeing more Mission style stuff from you.
I've been making up another starter, too. The latest update gave us half-walls; and more than that, it gave us half-walls of varying height, which to me means parapets, lots of parapets of varying heights. Mmmm. So I made this: Crenellated Deco
I won't say it's actually Art Deco; it's lacking a lot of the very fine sculptural detail that goes into Art Deco, and the vertical surfaces are, I think, a little flatter than they should be. But it's a start, anyway!
The exterior design of Crenelated Deco looks great! @Xinqun It looks very nice how you have used the half walls to create the different heights in the build! The type of windows that you have used suits well the style of the build, and it looks nice how you have placed them.
The home is very nice!
@rosemow Thanks! I'm a huge fan that particular window, "Narrow Outlook". I'm going to have to try making a build without them one of these days, or I might get (more) predictable.
Another starter for you guys. (A mini one). Needs 3 person budget (full capacity).
This is a Devon cottage, the county I grew up in. I didn't grow up in a pretty cottage in a village, but I wanted to. I grew up in terraced house (rowhouse) in a town.
I love starter homes (trying to make and browsing the gallery for ones to use)!
here is one I created not too long ago. I added the autumn mod to my game, which i love! in case things seem a little off lol
Cost $17020 simoleons
1bed/1bad
I left a small space in the back that would be good for a pool or a hot tube depending on what works best. In my game I added a pool, which as you can see in the SS is not there yet. For some reason the roof was my kryptonite ...but the house still works the way the roof is currently.

Mini Devon Cottage is a very pretty home! @EmmaVane The exterior of it is so homely and nice! The curved roof and the stone texture of the chimney and part of the exterior looks very nice! Very nice roof covered front porchway! The flowers at the front of the home look very pretty! Very nice layout and furnishing of the interior of the home! The stone texture of the interior walls looks nice. The corner of clothes shelves and the shoes racks in the bedroom look nice and homely. Sims will enjoy playing guitar in the single bedroom. Sims will have nice views of the outdoors through their bedroom windows. The corner of windows looks great in the single bedroom. Very nice outdoors patio for sims to enjoy dining outdoors in the air. They will enjoy growing and harvesting plants there. It looks great how you have created a toilet space under the stairs using the half wall! The candles look pretty on the wall ledge.
The home is very nice!
Your starter home is very nice! @nebagi The exterior design of the home is very nice! The curved roofin looks very nice, and the stone texture of the exterior gives a very nice look to the home. The planter box windows are nice touches in the build. Nice sitting area on the front porch for sims to enjoy resting there, watching people passing by their home. The curved back patio is nice. Very nice layout of the interior of the home. The bedroom is very nice! The green colour of the bed looks nice with the brown texture of the walls. It looks nice how you have placed the wall shelves there. The patterned floor rug looks great how you have placed and angled it on the floor. The coat shelf is a nice home touch on the wall. Sims will enjoy sitting at the study desk in the bedroom using the computer. Very nice wall tiling in the bathroom. The plant is a nice touch of green in the room to complement the tiling .
It is a very nice starter!
thank you so much for the kind words @rosemow, your words are always a big plus! It's always so hard with a starter sometimes because you want to stay in the budget, but i wanted to give the house a bit of personality. And you know, you are right, I love when my sim sits out front and passerbys wave or he stops them
Angle Alcove looks great! @Charliimai The A shaped angled walls look very nice! Nice brick texture of the exterior and it looks very nice how you have placed the windows either sides of the front and back doors. The windows look nice placed on the edges of the back exterior too. It looks great how you have used the half walls for the front entrance area! Very nice layout of the interior of the home. The blue colour scheme of the living, dining, and kitchen area and of the bathroom looks nice. It looks nice how you have a corner window dining nook for sims to enjoy eating their meal with the sunshine coming in through the windows. The sofa looks nice angled in the corner of the room.
It is a very nice starter!
First of all.....Ms Rose, you are awesome.
Second...oh my...such creativity. Wonderful starters.
My latest:
Cute little starter for that 'goofball' male in your life.
Sean Keen is a wanna-be stand-up comedian. Life is full of hard choices and disappointments.
Sean has decided to purchase this little home and make something of himself.
Punchline is a very nice starter! @Cassee I have already posted about it on your showcase thread. The design of the home and the background details to who lives there is very nice!
oh i haven't tried half walls yet. I just finished a mansion for that 50x40 property in Newcrest. Maybe I'll work on another starter, the mission starter has over 1000 downloads now, people must like it. smh
@Marjia Awesome. I guess the Mission style isn't one that a lot of people are familiar with (I know I'm not) which is why we don't see too much of it. And it pretty much comes boxed with the game, too. I hope we'll be seeing more Mission style stuff from you.

It is great that there has been over 1000 downloads of your mission starter home! @Marjia There are many simmers enjoying having your nice starter home in their game! It is nice that a part of your creativity is in their games for their sims to live in.
