I'm still here. I've gotten a little distracted with FFXIV. But I'll try to get my house finished up soon. Just need to finish furnishing the inside and landscape the back yard.
Thanks for posting those helpful links @ciane! I love everyone's WIPs It's so cool that everyone has taken the foundation in such a different direction. Can't wait to see more.
Why oh why can I not post pictures!!!! I have attempted to post my entry twice and I have to have it approved which means it will never appear here. Any suggestions on what I should do now?

Name of lot: Villa Con Amore (means, with love and enthusiasm)
Link to research if not on this thread:
Mediterranean-style homes are inspired by architecture usually associated with Spain, France and Italy. A low-pitched, tile roofs, often red, is the most distinctive characteristic of this style of home. Usually, but not always, finished in stucco, they often include a courtyard or patio, columns, balconies and decorative wrought iron or wooden window grilles
Mediterranean floor plans offer easy circulation between gracious rooms that often open onto lush gardens, patios, and pools.
Interiors are furnished carefree and casual, emphasizing the colors and textures found in the surrounding landscape. Nature is apparent in the architectural elements and furnishings in Mediterranean style.
Outdoor living areas are very important in Mediterranean life in order to take full advantage of the warm summer weather and the relatively mild climate of winter.
Water is another common Mediterranean design element, and many European homes include a courtyard fountain or other water feature.
Description:
Villa Con Amore, meaning with love and enthusiasm, was built for the Fabulous Foundations comp. This Mediterranean inspired home has a kitchen with attached nectar tasting room, open living and dining area with arched metal and wooden windows. A wrought iron stair takes you to the open air patio with bedrooms on either side. Outdoors there are two seating areas, one covered with a fountain and fireplace, a pool, an open air seating area and a small garden.

Villa Con Amore is a very nice home @Kgaff ! Great background research details that you have written about the style you used and the inspiration pictures are very nice. The name of your home is very nice. Very nice exterior of the home! The texture of the exterior looks great. It looks very nice the type of and how you have placed the windows in the build. The roofing is great! It looks very nice how you have done the front steps porchway alcove! The plants and the lights on either side of the front entrance looks very nice. The pool area is very nice! The outdoors greenery trellis covered sitting area looks very nice! It looks very nice how you have used the pillars and curtains there. It is a very nice place for sims to enjoy sitting resring outdoors on the seats, enjoying the sunshine, and warming up beside the fireplace on a coolish day. It looks very nice! Great harvestable garden area for sims to enjoy growing and harvesting plants to use in cooking meals. It looks great how you have placed barrels in the nook area of the exterior of the house. Very nice indoors living room area. Sims will enjoy sitting and chatting on the sofa and armchairs there, in front of the fireplace. The type of fireplace you have used there suits well the type of home. The floral floor rug looks nice there. Very nice layout of the interior of the home. It is nice that you have a nectar tasting room off from the kitchen.
It is a very nice home
Yee, nice work Kgaff! ^^ I love the nectar tastery :)
Aaand I've got, yet again, question: Do have to upload to Exhange? As my Launcher isnt working I can't upload nor download via it. I'm planning to clean up the PC and re-install The Sims 3, but I doubt I can do that in time, as it can take days.
@Silvakristiina, one quick way to help the launcher is to move the screenshots folder out of your Sims 3 folder. You'll still have the pictures, just in a different location so your launcher isn't loaded down with all the pictures. Another folder you can move out is the downloads one, so that all your downloads don't show in the launcher. They are still in the game, just not taking up space in the launcher. (Don't delete it though in case you ever need to reinstall store stuff.)
Then, you can try the launcher again and see if it will open. If not, you can rename your sims 3 folder (in your documents) and let a new one be created. That folder won't have anything in it except your initial install of all EPs and SPs you have. It won't have anything you added included your saves (but they will be in your renamed folder, so no worries.)
Now, with nothing to mess up the launcher, see if you can open it. It should launch a brand new sims game and recreate all needed folders. See if you can update your launcher with the latest store patch (2.2) next.
If all goes well, you can then try to copy over some files and see if the launcher will continue to work (if indeed it ever did).
I never use the launcher to launch my game. I simply have a shortcut to the Sims 3 game bin ts3w.exe in programs. That way, I don't stress my launcher with anything other than uploading and downloading and installing.
Good luck.
ciane, thank you for your advice! I'm gathering courage to do that. I have no idea why the Launcher isn't working, but it may have something to do with the CC I have in game (tons of it, actually). I've heard that Sims 3 really is not CC firendly and noticed that myself too... I have already once re-installed all the games and both times I think the crashing started after adding CC. Now I use CC Magic to start the game.
I think I'll try your guide when I'm done with the house. If I can't make it work, I still have the lot done and a final reason to make the PC and the game run properly :) Why is there always something with this game...
Well, @silvakristiina, it's really not all cc that causes problems, but it may be any cc that wasn't made with the last patch update or just the fact that you have so much or even how you installed the cc.
Do you put all cc in the mods packages folder OR do you have some installed via the launcher? If the launcher has too much in a file, it can corrupt. I've read that 270 is the magic number. So your compressed file can be up to 270k KB, but any more than that and corruption can occur. I don't want to tech talk you into glazed over eyes, but the cc (and some store venues) get installed into the dbc file while all the store stuff goes into ebc files. If you look in the dccache folder in the sims 3 folder in your documents, that's where you find everything that was installed.
While you may not be able to see everything in your launcher because there is so much loaded, you can temporarily move those files out of the dccache folder to look at things one file at a time. COPY your dccache folder to your desktop so that everything is backed up. Then move out all the ebc files to a NEW folder on your desktop you can call working or files or ebc or whatever you want. Move out the downloads folder too if you have a lot of things you've already installed in it (so you don't see all that when you are working).
Then open your launcher and you'll see only the items loaded into that one dbc file (or depending on how much cc you have, maybe more dbc files). This of course implies that you can get the launcher to open. You may have to rename your sims 3 folder first and have a newly created one that you will copy your dccache folder into. And then try.
If the launcher works, you can delete any cc (know that you'll still have it in the file you copied to your desktop if you want to put it all back in AFTER you do what you want to with the launcher AND if you don't clean out your dcbackup file, it's still in your game too). Then, you'll copy back in the ebc files you moved out (so all your store stuff is back in your game).
I do have step-by-step guidance and various links to helpful threads for various things on my blog on my page.
Description: This post-modern three-bedroom, 3.5 bath home depicts (hopefully) the movement, color, strength, and beauty of the mountains. In addition to musical, artistic, academic, and athletic outlets, this home is designed for social entertaining. Its name reflects the post-modern (POMO) style as well as the movement and motion of the mountains. (All items have been upgraded, and the lot was thoroughly play tested.)
