She is running out of relatives to write to... and it seemed like the perfect time to write a memory letter for her daughter who is growing up and soon to be leaving home.
Like signing a year book...
Adding a letter to a save box to pull out and read later.
All these letter are "unsent" though.
Deidre captures her feelings at the time, like writing in a journal. It helps her remember her thoughts at different times in her life.
Yes we have been thinking of putting our house on the market. It's called Connors Clubhouse as it was originally built for the Connor family, who lived here before they moved to warmer climes.
It has a great backyard, just perfect for pets and children as well as those of us who never want to grow up.
I really love the floor plan, with everything off a nice wide central hallway.
And, the dream kitchen... oh, my... what can I say? This is definately a great selling point. How many kitchens have a state-of-the-art stove as well as a wood oven and a grill like this?
The hall is so roomy and the family room so cosy. I just know that whoever buys the home next will love it as much as we have.
Have you seen the upstairs yet? The kids have a great big play area outside their rooms.
I really love the master suite! I know I have been truly spoiled and will probably never find another suite like this.
The kids really couldn't have had a better place to grow up.
But, the long winter months cause us to dream of warmer climates, don't they?
I loved the letter to her daughter. The pictures were all perfect for the narration and you think that in years to come it would be so lovely for the daughter to find this letter.
The letter to the real estate agent was really good too. I liked it as it told a story of their life in the house, but I also loved looking at the decor which was superb!
ok THIS with the picture is what they need to give out at hospitals when telling about changing the life to better to help on a healt problem... (then they can ad more specific advice lists after)
Ciane, I had to catch up from page 6. I've adored every single chapter of your story! You're a wonderful writer, and the photos really help tie the story together. (I'm a very visual person.) Brava, my friend! *hugs*

I agree with this 100% Everyone needs a health care team like the Shues! I just might print their advice out and put it up on my fridge The was my favorite letter yet!
And before I forget, the realtor listing was lovely. They have a great home!
What a wonderful, happy and healthy family! And such great advice the Shues have shared to help improve everyone's quality of life. All these letters have such important and thought-provoking messages.

^ this. Couldn't have said it better myself!!
Life is so very, very good.
I have loved all our time together, even doing homework.
It wasn't THAT long ago that you asked for a big kids' bike...
And Travis was small enough to carry.
Or even, before that, when he was an innocent sleeping in his crib.
I miss that young boy and wonder where he went.
Remember playing peek-a-boo with him?
I am so glad that you are friends with each other.
Stay young!
Play pretend!
Make-believe is good.
It is fine to have imaginary friends.
It is alright to share hopes and dreams with someone special.
Aliens do exist.
And, in some ways, they are just like us.
It is possible to be friends with them.
Welcome them into your home.
Oh, why do little ones have to grow up so quickly?
You are so busy dreaming of all the things you'll be able to do.
Think carefully about you want to do with your life.
And know, that Papa and I will always be there for you.
Though there will be times we cannot help - times that you have to do things on your own.
Aw, I still remember you baking blueberry muffins in your little easy bake oven...
And the chocolate cookies you still love so much.
Time marches on while we are busy working.
I know you aren't a little girl playing with dolls any more.
Now we are big gals working on projects.
Or maybe, not so big, but with big dreams...
That don't always go according to plan.
We get so busy that we start forgetting birthdays.
My papa's getting older and even more clumsy, but he's a good grandpapa.
And my mama is still someone I love spending time with. I hope you'll always feel that way about me as well.
Your papa still dreams of computers...
But nothing is more important to him than you. He loves, respects, and trusts you, Tara.
He proved that by putting his life in your hands teaching you to drive, didn't he?
And, you, dear Tara, what are your dreams now?
Will you be happy making food from scratch for your family?
Will you worry if they don't eat enough veggies?
Will you stress about the benefits of raw food over cooked?
Will you dance happily and enjoy each day?
Your smile always makes me smile.
Yours, and your brother's...
I do love his smile too!
And, of course, little Tamra's smile as well.
Do you know, I thought she was going to have my eyes?!
But, no!!! Your papa's blue eyes shine out at the world once again.
It's okay. I do love his eyes and our life together.
I actually love every minute of our lives together.
And, it is really okay that you are growing up.
I just want you to know that you, and your siblings, are the most precious gifts your papa ever gave to me and I want to hold on and never let go.
With all my love forever,
Mama

Don't make any quick promises to prospective clients, though, Anette. I am not one hundred percent sure that I am really ready to leave Hidden Springs behind yet.

Well done!
Dear Patients,
I want you to get quality sleep.
Your body needs to heal and rejuvenate.
And, while this may seem counter-productive, I want you to push yourself during the day.
Stressing your body physically strengthens it, but it is also crucial to eat right.
We tend to eat what is convenient...
When what we really need is to limit processed foods, which contain chemicals, oils, and sodium,...
And, of course, processed sweets, whether it's sugar or a chemical substitute.
Sweets and processed foods should only be an occasional special treat.
Remember, that we are always setting an example for others.
So, eat lots of fruit, veggies, and whole grains.
There is, of course, also food for the soul.
Find enjoyment in simple things.
Make time to be with friends...
And those you love.
Laughter ...
IS the best medicine.
Have you made someone else laugh out loud or, at least, smile today?
No matter how tentative your smile may be, ...
Share it!
When we spread negativity...
Others are affected.
It spreads as quickly...
As smiles and love.
Make smiles, love, and positive thoughts be your building blocks.
Think about what you say and do.
Choose to spread cheer.
Be happy in the moment.
Express your joy.
That is the best gift you can give others.
We all need a healthy environment.
Our homes are an extension of ourselves.
Like our bodies, we must keep our homes clean, uncluttered, and in good repair.
Take care of your home...
And all within it.
Avoid chemicals.
Chose natural cleaners.
Get out in the fresh air as much as possible.
Frequently, leave your safe place ...
And do something that makes a difference.
Continue to learn.
Challenge your mind ...
As well as your body.
Search for answers.
Share your concerns.
Avoid keeping things bottled up and stressing over them.
Talk things over with a friend.
You should always strive to help others.
But, accept that it is up to them to create their own realities.
Sometimes, rainbows appear when we least expect them.
Visualize spring in the midst of winter.
Make your dream a reality.
Sincerely,
Your Primary Care Team,
Deidre and Gary Shue, M.D.s

Abandoned Kids Challenge and Toddler Mania Challenge stories are complete.
And before I forget, the realtor listing was lovely. They have a great home!
Thank you for sharing their story, Ciane!
Life always offers lots of excitement, doesn't it?
We have been thinking about what to do for our silver wedding anniversary.
Yeah, that snuck up when we weren't looking.
Please, no presents. We have all we need.
I know you are both quite proud that we have made it this far together.
The kids thought a pool party might be fun.
You can't blame them.
Travis suggested a pizza party.
I remember the last big wedding anniversary the kids planned.
Travis listened to all sorts of tab casts about the perfect party.
They set everything up so nicely.
And invited all Travis' pseudo siblings - Star, Charlotta, and Dany.
They even set up a buffet table for outdoor dining.
Though most of the guest ate indoors...
And enjoyed dancing inside as well.
With the kids all older now...
They are great planners...
Even Tamra,
Who takes after her big sister in many ways.
Can you believe that Tara has graduated already?
Oh, where have my little tricksters gone?
They grew up!
Travis even has a girlfriend.
That Cho gal is so sweet.
Well, fortunately, Tamra isn't all grown up yet.
But, she does know what she wants to do with her life already.
We are all getting older, aren't we?
Luckily we can still dance and enjoy life.
Even when it offers some surprises.
Enough rambling, huh?
We'd like you to share our fruit of abundance...
And all the good things that life has given us.
Tara and Darius are taking the plunge.
There will even be cake and chocolate to commemorate the occasion.
Gary and I will redo our vows with Tamra as flower girl and Travis as best man.
The maid of honor will be Tara in more ways than one.
I know you'll be so happy for her, Mama!
It should be a lovely outdoor wedding.
They'll exchange rings...
At the Hidden Gardens just down the street.
I think it will be romantic.
I hope they will be...
As happy as Gary and I have been.
Here's a picture the kids did for you:
All my love and thank yous for being always the loving souls you are,
Your daughter,
Deidre
