In reality, they are both studying technology as Deidre had 18 credit hours for it already and it was the thought that keep occuring for Gary over and over again.
I thought I could skill her up some more in other areas and send her back for a degree in medicine later.
Gary only had 6 credit hours, so he needs to return to finish a degree anyway.
I've had this bookmarked for a while and have been meaning to comment. This is such a moving and beautifully written story. You have a real talent for expressing your sims characters and emotions in an understated but touching way.
Some of your classes might be close by and you can go on foot.
But, there will be days when the weather isn't all that great and you'll have to trek cross-campus to your next class.
You'll also find it easier to get around outside campus if you have wheels.
On campus, there are really great labs that I love.
We are so use to computers in our lives.
Yet, there are so many other amazing machines.
I love learning about the machines themselves, not just using them.
You'll have to experience them for yourself.
It is almost impossible to describe the feeling you get when an experiment works out well.
Gary and I have both been known to dance for joy when things work out well.
Be forewarned though, Murphy's Law that "anything that can go wrong, will go wrong" does emerge from time to time.
If you are like most of us, you won't get enough sleep.
At first, life will be centered around when your next class will take place.
Mostly, classes are a real struggle. There is so much to learn...
Especially, when we have group activities.
Of course, you can reproduce the same studies on your own.
I thought I knew so much before, but the things I'm learning now...
It's all so amazing and even Gary finds the discoveries fascinating.
You'll soon find, however, that everything does not revolve around your classes.
There are always lots of parties...
And that means lots of fun to be had.
Just remember that you have to be up early to get to class on time, so know before you go partying what time you need to leave and stick to your schedule.
Also, take time to enjoy the simple things.
One place I love to go is Keith's Comics.
Gary likes to issue trivia challenges there.
You'll meet some nerds and have conversations about things you never really thought of before.
There is also a nice big garden on campus.
You might like to try growing some plants yourself.
You could always grow some flowers. You can never go wrong sending a gal flowers.
You will find it challenging to keep up with all the social engagements.
There are a large number of chess enthusiasts around campus, which of course made me ecstatic.
You'll also meet sensitive, artistic sims...
And other interesting and not so interesting sims.
Then, you'll meet some really strange sims ...
I find it best to just avoid them.
But, of course, you'll have to decide for yourself.
I'm sure you'll find some great new friends...
Friends you can share your dreams for the future with.
Of course, I came to college with my best friend.
I have been rambling. Haven't I? I just know you'll be excited to graduate again - this time from college.
Don't forget to write me and share some of your adventures. I love getting emails about what's going on in your life and how you feel about things.

I'm caught up again I love these letters Yay(!) for college life and marrying your best friend. Very wonderful updates, I am so happy she gets to experience all of college.
After graduation, we left university life behind us, Gary with his technology degree and I with a degree in technology as well as one in science and medicine.
Gary immediately set to looking at his promised computer programming job.
We talked over our future possibilities while staying at my parent's old house.
We like to share all our thoughts, just as we have shared everything in the past.
As a new day started...
I dreamed about a home of our own as well.
I got up bright and early, just as I had been doing for the last few years at uni...
And we all went to a graduation ceremony.
Gary was so proud to show his in-laws that he could work hard and make a good future.
But, while Gary dreamed of his future job, Papa fairly begged for a grand baby, specifically a grandson.
The ceremony was nice.
With it over, we felt it was time to move on, so Gary called the realtor and I envisioned all the chess tourneys I'd hold at our new place.
We found a place with a basketball hoop out front...
And a soccer goal out back.
We added a chess set on the back patio, of course.
The landing upstairs makes a great playroom and, though I am not artistic, I did enjoy painting up there.
It is just as roomy as the main hallway downstairs.
Gary is quite handy, and he set to work upgrading the plumbing.
And I set to work in the kitchen.
I love making veggie medley on the grill.
But I also love my wood oven.
I am not sure if Gary loves the new home as much as I do.
But it will be a perfect place to start a family.
So, we have been busy, as you'd imagine, getting everything into shape.
Because, yes, we are planning on starting a family soon.
This is the perfect place and time, I believe.
We can dream of a future in medicine...
And our future family.
And while being a doctor involves long hours away from home, I do think we'll get a pet some day.
We've even got a pet bed ready in the family room.
I think babies and pets both help make your house into a home.
For now, I'll happily play house.
We'll enjoy all the little things of life...
And, especially, my new dream kitchen.
I want you to know that I was so excited to get your housewarming gift in the mail.
It was as exciting as starting my new job at the hospital as an internist.
I still see Papa and Mama often.
But there is a lot of tension between them.
After Mama and Papa's divorce, they don't like to spend much time together.
Mama and I enjoy going to the spa together.
And she even comes over to shoot a few hoops...
Though neither of us are really any good at it.
She has also given me great massages at home in our own sun room spa. (Luxurious, yes?!)
I think she can't wait to be a grandmama.
She'll be as proud as the baby's papa is.
We are as excited about our little one coming as we are about our new house.
And, we are very excited about our new home and have even remodeled a bit already.
Maybe you'll come visit some day.
We can soak in the hot tub...
And enjoy nature.
Or relax inside in the spa.
Well, Gary's waiting for me and I have rambled enough.
Thank you so, so much for thinking of us and sending such a truly appreciated present.
Lovely chapters, but the last one was simply amazing. I just had to hop on YouTube and look up the song "Me and God Watching Scotty Grow". Oh goodness, my "baby" is 13 years old now and that song & the last chapter had me tearing up *sniff* Excellent writing, ciane

Gary's last name? And did she change hers.
Are you gonna upload him?
And, is she preggers?!?
(Wait...is this Gary Shue?)
Isn't he N I C E looking? He is a bookworm genius as well!
She's at uni, so no pregnancy ... yet. I'm not sure how the chemo might have affected her, but ... Gary does want a little one with her.
I had to have him marry her, so right now their last name is still Munoz, but I plan to change that at city hall.

Congratulations on graduating!
Now you get to move away from home ...
And say hello to university life.
Definitely plan on getting a bike.

I have heard about the water breaking before the baby comes.
I hadn't thought it would affect my house though.
But, right after the water broke, the labor pains came in earnest.
Poor Gary! Guys just don't know what to do to help, do they?
But that little bundle of joy is so worth everything!
Then, they are growing up before you know it ...
With Granpapa more excited about the babe's first birthday than even you are.
Soon, the little one is a toddler under foot when you are working in the kitchen.
Still, babes are so precious.
Do you know that old song, Cats in the Cradle?
It's starts: A child arrived just the other day
He came to the world in the usual way
But there were planes to catch and bills to pay
He learned to walk
while I was away
And he was talking before I knew it
and as he grew
He said, "I’m gonna be like you,
Dad
You know I’m gonna be like you"
Ah, they do grow so quickly, ...
So I cannot thank you enough for sending Tara such a special gift with which to grow.
She absolutely loves him...
Maybe not as much as she loves her dad.
But possibly as much as I love our new house,
Though we are still working on all the upgrades.
I'm sure you are very familiar with how frequently things break down...
As well as how quickly little girls grow.
I am listening to the oldies channel and just heard another appropriate song, Me and God Watching Scotty Grow.
I'd love to include a little video of Tara singing, "Thank You Tio" but let's just say that right now her enthusiasm surpasses her skill.
Just know that we thank you for thinking of Tara
And for sending such a unique and much loved gift.
Much love from your niece,
Deidre

It is hard to believe how quickly time passes, isn't it?
Tara isn't a little tot any more.
She grew up when I wasn't looking.
I miss the quiet times we shared.
But nothing lasts forever, does it?
That time is only a memory now.
Was it really so long ago, we celebrated her fourth birthday with you?
Blow out the candles and blow away another several years.
We found ourselves longing for another baby to hold.
Gary isn't a paramedic anymore, but the work hours never seem to get any better.
There's always work around the house as well.
Thankfully, we have a great spa and can work out some of the built-up tensions and just relax.
Unfortunately, you never can fully prepare for labor, can you?
We just wish they didn't grow up so fast!
One minute, they are so small and helpless.
The next moment, they are playful, little sims.
I think Travis looks much like his papa.
Gary dotes on his son a lot.
But, he is so precious, mi Abuela, you can't do other than love him with all your heart.
My papa adores his grandson and just happens to show up at the places we go frequently.
Tara too adores Travis and will be a great big sister, I am sure.
She looks so much like you must have looked as a young girl with all that gorgeous blonde hair.
She has her papa's artistic flair.
I swear she dreams of art.
We'll have to wait and see if she takes after me at all.
She likes to build things.
And she is still young enough to enjoy playing with her doll that Tio Stan sent to her.
Though, lately, she has been a bit worried that she might be growing too big for him.
Her doll looks much like the one you sent for Travis.
Thank you so much for that present, mi Abuela. A little boy needs someone to share his secrets with.
Here's another picture for your album. Travis posed so perfectly for it, don't you think?
All my love and then some more,
Deidre
