Thanks Nik...I was going to give SN's the vern a makeover but you beat me to it. I
downloaded and left you a rec.
Thanks Chris downloaded your fire station and salon...thank for giving them the MV coloring...I will give the inside of the salon a makeover...been wanting to add the sunlit tides spa items and Season's tanning booth to it for some time...now I will. Left you a few rec's too.
I would love a few of the other SN lots with a MV makeover hope someone gets around to it.
Thanks again all for making and sharing. :P :P :P
BTW I did make a few makeover from MV too they are in my studio...working on the Cafe now and I was going to do the pub but I just dld the one from this thread now, lol.
Someone really needs to tackle that large cafe (Mucho Espress Cafe) by the huge pool on the other side of the bridge. That is one big huge cafe without not a a lot going for it, needs a major overhaul.

I just added a Food Register and a Nectary Register >.<

I'm working on this now...almost done. Will send sims to test tonight. Look in my studio on sunday. :P :P :P
I never shut off any of the sims and enjoy all the different types.(I don't care for the zombies though, but seeing they are not a creature but my sims neighbors, guess I am stuck with those); But seeing MV is European/Mediterranean I really couldn't see any place actually more fitting for the creatures as our oldest stories and tales of "beings" actually have European beginnings - long before they were remotely an American phenom. But then I look at life through the eyes of a writer, so I have been strongly influenced since childhood from books almost exclusively of European origin. So that is partly my view, as I surely associate Witches, Fairies, and Vampires as European - zombies as Haitan, Genies as Middleeastern. Maybe the aliens is more Americanized - but the rest is most definitely European. And speaking of Twilight - if we are to go there, the oldest vampires - the Voltare's home port was Italy and before that France. But regardless you should play your game the way you want it to be and not at all as others think it should be. I actually like everyones pictures and stories so far anyway. But it really should be your choice, as we all play the way we do for many reasons. I just have been a long time reader of very old books - so that is my biggest influence.
Thank you for both responding and explaining your reasoning, I honestly hadn't thought of supernaturals in terms of their literary roots and now I can see a very clear place for them in MV. You're absolutely right about everyone's playing style being different, I just wanted to know what some of them were for this particular world. I'm very new to actually posting on the forums so I'm still feeling my way as to the best way to interact and utilize the community of fellow simmers, and after 12 years of pretty heavy play I'm always trying to discover new angles to explore. I think in terms of Monte Vista I'll end up having two versions: the one I've already set up and started playing as purely human (I have a mod that eliminates those pesky zombies), and a fresh one populated with supernaturals and humans. That way I get the best of both worlds and capitalize on the ability to have several copies of the same base world. Thanks again for the inspiration!!
I have remade the Al Fresco Street Market. I have tried to make an exact replica. It is on a more compact and more practical sized lot of 30 x 30. Here is the link if anyone is interested
I made a festival Lot with a small indoor community garden and nectary. It's one of EA's residential 64x64 lots which I edited (positioned at the side of the hospital). No CC used:

Please excuse one of my test sims going about in his underpants in all weather, I think he must have been insane.
There is an empty park at 45 Olive Way, 30x20, right on the water. I converted it to a residential lot and started an artist cottage. The best feature is that my Sims can swim in the water directly from their front yard. You can also hear the sea gulls!!
This is my house, just started - haven't done any landscaping yet. That trellis will be covered with flowers. Underneath is an open-air dining area. The front door faces the mailbox.
@AznSensei - Can I ask how you achieve that extra bit of wall on top of the pillars at the front of your station? It's something I'd love to use in my builds but I've never worked out a way. Am I missing something really simple? Thanks.
It's a cheat that allows you to place a foundation on top of walls. I don't remember the exact cheat. It is something about friezes. If you type in help in the cheats box, you can search for it, or someone else probably has it memorized.
@michellehilbrand - Thank you! I've found my answer through the power of Google! I just needed somewhere to start.
Now, m next question is a little more complicated. Suppose I wanted to use the roof cornices to build a roof... but I wanted a real roof on top, and by on top, I mean on top of the cornice; not at the level the cornice is on. Is this possible? The only way I can think, is if I can somehow place floor tiles at the height of the top of the cornice, but that doesn't seem possible. I've tried to do it using foundation, by using moveobjects to place the cornice in the side of the foundation, but that's not possible at the cornice then glitches; the corners go dark as though they are indoors and the smallest straight piece disappears into the foundation; the only piece that behaves is the long straight piece. It's such a pity, as it would really look good if I could get it to work. Any help please, anyone?
This is my Casino lot for Monte Vista. It's a modest lot, nothing fancy or elaborate, designed in keeping with the local architecture of the 18 Veronaville area of Monte Vista.
The story I imagined when creating this lot is that there was a neglected fortification left to slowly crumble on this plot of land. At some point in the timeline of Monte Vista some sim came along and built a house in the middle of it. That sim has since moved on, turning it over to an opportunistic sim who then converted the house into a small casino hall with a restaurant.
Anyway, it does contain a Night Life EP bar which I guess if you don't have NL you can simply add a juice bar to where the NL one should be. Plus, of course since it's a casino it has the 2 premium content items from the Lucky Simoleon Venue. I'm pretty sure all other objects and build items are Monte Vista and base game compatible. Finally, NO CC.
@iJai - I LOVE your casino lot! I'm planning to treat myself to Lucky Palms over Christmas (hoping it will be in the sales) and when I do I will definitely be downloading your lot.
I'm working on a small starter home myself at the moment (taking a break from Lizzano; it's such a big lot to work on) and then I hope to tackle some venue type lots.
For those with Showtime, you can make a Big Show Venue with the Coliseum lot.
Could someone who's already convertedthe Colliseum into a Big Show venue please upload it to the exchange? I would greatly appreciate it as I'm not very good at creating Big Show venues. Thanks!

I've just placed a big stage inside de Coliseum and it works perfectly as a venue
Can I ask if it also still functions as a stadium? I'm going to experiment to see for myself but I'm not playing anyone in the athletic career so would just like some confirmation from others. Thanks!
The Sims
Where are we going, and why am I in this hand basket?!
BTW, thanks for the compliments. I don't usually upload my lots, I don't consider myself a builder, plus my lots tend to be very specific to my tastes and play style. I also fear that since I usually use items from so many different EPs, SPs, and store sets when I build, that only players who have everything could enjoy them the way I intended.
Can you really edit the coliseum and just put a big show stage in the middle and have it be both a stadium and big show venue? Is it just as easy and placing the stage rig and adding a stage and whatnot or is there more to it? I'm curious. I hadn't thought of doing that.

I also made the huge cafe into a coffeehouse (same theme?) and plopped a stage in the outdoor dining area.

Evil Witch Diva is the only way to be... slappin' and igniting one sim at a time in Monte Vista
